Blair Witch project, or whatever that was called. Had ALL KINDS of people telling me how scary and awesome it was. I got through about 5 minutes with that crappy camera work, ermmmm....I mean "creative" camera work and i turned it off.

    The Black Swan

I only watched the *kitten* scene and lesbian scene....about 50 times.

At least it had that, not that I know anything else about the movie.

City of Angels .... pretentious rubbish

Citizen Kane ... at the time I watched it, it was supposed to be the greatest movie of all time (thankfully it has fallen down the ratings - not nearly far enough, in my opinion!)

The Lego Movie- Huge waste of time and money
    Twlight- Just plain awful
The Black Swan- Just plain weird and uninteresting
Lord of the Rings- Guess I'm just not into those kinds of movies
American Hustle-Just seemed really really corny to me
    Anchorman- Just stupid
That's all I can think of right now, even though my husband makes me sit through some horrible movies. The Lego Movie has to be the WORSE.

The Notebook- You couldn't pay me to finish that movie...

Couldn't finish Avatar. The special effects were good, but there was nothing else to that movie. Plot's been done again and again.

I was excited for Black Swan. I used to do ballet, I like Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, and I like weird mindfreak kind of movies. It fell pretty flat.

Les Miserables. It had its moments but my God, was Russel Crowe terrible. And I just don't think that level of musical (ie singing every single word) translates all that well to film. Especially when you cast people that can't sing. Like Russel Crowe.

I haven't seen it yet, but I have a hunch that Frozen is overly hyped. The song sure is, anyway.

I dunno about critically acclaimed, but I can't stand that Notebook movie. It's annoying. Ted wasn't all that great either for all the hype it got.

This was EXACTLY what I was going to post... except for the Ted part.

The Notebook could've been good, but they just needed to pick ONE ending... i kept thinking 'OK, movie's over now'.... NOPE!

Jeez that is some horrible spelling in the title..

    Silver Linings Playbook....what crap!

    And Ted....crap!

The Great Gatsby, The Book Thief (I really liked the book, though) and all of those Twilight movies.

    The Departed

Seriously, what a cop-out just to kill everyone. Totally eliminates having to actually write an ending, and I wasn't even shocked that they died. I just felt like Scorsese didn't have time to write a script where the characters had to deal with the bs they created.

It was a remake of a Hong Kong movie called Infernal Affairs. I loved both, but Scorsese didn't have to think about anything to write it.

    Hated:

    Titanic
    Avatar
    2001 A Space Odyssey
    Tron
    Dances With Wolves
    The Social Network

    There are many more.

Lincoln - the only movie I've ever walked out of.

    So many!

    Drive
    Bridesmaids
    Sideways
August Osage County -probably number 1 on my list!
    Master and Commander
    Cast Away
    Closer
    Lost in Translation
    Monsters Ball
    Borat
    127 Hours

I actually liked a lot of the other movies listed here or didn't hate them and I agree that there are two good Nicholas cage movies

    Valley Girl (ahh, college days!)
    Raising Arizona

And I do like Con Air but not because of him.

Pulp Fiction & Fargo Didn't like them at all.

The book: Silver Lining Playbook is definitely better than the movie. The book explained so much more. The movie would be hard to follow if you didn't read the book.

    I like you.

Nicholas Cage in Con Air wasn't so bad either...though the story itself/Malkovich was his saving grace.

 I'm hijacking this thread. Sorry. Carry on.

Cage's southern drawl was absolutely horrible. If I was from the south, I would have been offended.

    300: Rise of an Empire....

when they (the main girl and main guy) did it I almost started screaming at the screen in protest for men, yes men because it whittled a story about war down to nothing more than a powerless-sex-crazed-forget-about-your-people-pathetic man :noway:

    Gravity.

The cinematography was spectacular but the story was so, SO far-fetched that I just couldn't wrap my brain around it.

America's Sweethearts. I would have demanded my money back, but my ticket was paid for by a friend. Romance comedies suck and this one is by far the worst of them all.

Titanic. Remember this hit from the 1990's? Sure. Tried to watch. It was boring and I fell asleep.
    Memento.

The worst of them all was Great Gatsby, which was extremely corny, the acting was terrible, the female lead role was super annoying and it also offended me as a swing dancer. XP

I just saw these two two movies within the last month, and thought they were just terrible....

    Gangs of New York

    Silver Linings Playbook

I really wanted to like SLP.... I am from the Philly area, love the Eagles, and the premise of the movie sounded good to me. Gangs of New York just happened to be starting when I was flipping channels..... I couldn't watch after about 20 minutes. I think if I had continued to watch I might have called it the worst critically acclaimed movie ever.

Silver Linings Play book was terrible

So was Place beyond the pines
