    @Robin~You’ve received lots of great advice regarding shoes. My two cents for what it’s worth is to go to a specialty shoe store the first time—they will watch you walk and measure your feet to be sure you get a proper shoe. After you do that you can find them online cheaper thru lots of retailers. When I tore my Achilles and came out of a boot (after 8 long, grueling months) I was told to go to the New Balance store to be fitted for some with a roll bar (like Kaye mentioned), they really helped to stabilize my foot while I regained strength. I can’t wear New Balance any longer (too wide), but love Brooks (Glycerin, Ghost and Adrenaline are my faves) and my Asics. Personally, I do like a lighter weight shoe--just my preference.

    @Katrena~Glad you had such a good time on your Alaskan cruise; I took one two years ago and :love: it! I’m actually take a B2B Alaskan cruise in 2015 I loved it so much. :wink:

    @KarenL~Congrats on the new job!

    @Susan~Sorry for your stress at work (I can certainly relate), I hope things settle down soon.

    AFM~Unfortunately, I didn’t get a raise which I pretty much anticipated since raises were frozen for 2014. My boss did talk to me about upcoming changes in my position in the next six months, which would quantify a higher salary--hopefully he'll follow thru. The day did end on a high note; my Canada cruise is on in October! Just 142 days, not that I’m counting. :laugh: No time for gym yesterday, session with trainer tonight—hoping we can kick things up a notch even though I’m still a wing short. :wink:

    Quick update. I've gone over my miles by 36.98. Ellen--What were your goals? I want to run and bike for you because I know you're having a difficult time.

    Wow Thursday all ready...... Truth is even though my puppy is not the best walking friend (he loves to go towards people cuz he wants them to pet him) I love taking him for a walk every night for an hour.

    He is actually a Morab (Jericho's Magnum Force aka"Jerry" - (Moro Hill Magnum x Ari's Black Diamond) 1992 Morab Gelding ) I was showing him for a friend, I also own a large Morab Mare...love those Morgan necks!!!!!!!

    Truth - I lack internal motivation to get me to the gym or doing anything. I rely on outside motivation from others which is also lacking at the moment.

    I lost my 24 year old National Show Horse in 2008. I'd had him since he was a weanling. I miss him something awful. I always said if I got another horse it would be a foundation stock Morgan. I just love the old look of them. Thick bodies, short coupled, heavy neck, and adorable heads.

    Thursday truth: I blew my appointment to have my teeth cleaned this morning because I didn't take an antibiotic. Apparently it is essential to take an antibiotic before dental work for 2 years following knee replacement surgery. Rescheduled for next week. Did I mention that I really hate getting my teeth cleaned?
    We are going out of town to do some shopping and pick up a part for the lawn mower deck. I walked to and from the dental office so I got my exercise this morning. It was cold for water aerobics this morning, but we survived.
    Mileage for 5/29: 4.3 (combined walking and water aerobics)

    Sorry I cant participate in the walking challenge until this fracture heals, but I do plan to do deep water aerobics as soon as I get back from St Simeon's Island which is a nice beach area on the Georgia coast. Will be gone for 5 days and plan to relax by pool after practicing on my Yamaha keyboard which I am taking along. My daughter teaches piano so she can help me with this when she gets in from her conference. Having a good day today except for my water. Need to pre-plan that also.

    My Thursday truth is that I am probably stronger than I think I am.

    Karenleona - Congratulations on your job. That is awesome. Having worked in Disability claims, statistically most folks that are disable for two years or longer dont recover, but it sounds like you really achieved a lot.

    @RobinB That was the Color Run 5K. I've done about 3 of the color runs and then 1 regular timed 5K. I need to get back in to running, but it's so HOT here in Florida! And although I have no issues working out in the gym, I really really hate the treadmill and it hates me too! Once I'm back in school for Summer B I'll have access to the indoor track at the college.

    @PaintedCalvary - I am in Florida too, Broward County. Where are you? A group of us did the Color Run in Ft Lauderdale a few weeks ago. I can so relate to the heat! Ugh! I think it's the reason why I have been in such a fitness funk lately!

    Hello everyone. It took awhile but I caught up on all the posts. I want to wish a belated Happy bday to robin and kaye. I am happy to see everyone else seems to be trudging right along. I came in under calories for the first time in quite a few days today. May this be the start of a long streak:happy: My truth for Thursday is I give into my own urgings way to often.     I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling exhausted. Not sure why short holiday weeks always feel longer to me. I'm also skipping personals tonight.

    Thursday Truth:
    I'm logging but not doing great with food choices. In all I'm over by about 1000 calories for the month, so not terrible overall, but I know I should be better. :ohwell: I also still never got to the gym this week; however, I did run 3 miles outside yesterday. Today gunner and I did a 2 mile walk, and tomorrow I will rest for my 5k on Saturday morning. It's earlier than I like to run (8 am :yawn: ), but I will suck it up and do my best. It will be my first timed race since last August. :noway: I'm hoping to come close to my PR which is 35:59.

    I thought this week would be easier with my seniors gone, but between supervising senior final exams and dealing with a student who's was out on medical and is not making up the work in a timely manner, I haven't really had a lot of "spare" time. Senior finals are now done, so I hope tomorrow is a better day.
