Results after 12 weeks of only compound exercises. Now I introduce cardio for the next 12 weeks in addition to weight resistance.
12 weeks of intense weight training completed while performing the 5x5 program. I'm stronger than I've ever been in my life. I never thought I'd lift the amount of weight I'm lifting today. I don't want to get too much bigger - though I've gained muscle I've lost a fair amount of fat. Abs begin to show when you hit the single digit of body fat %. So that’s my next goal. We must set goals!
Now I concentrate on cardio and endurance to prepare for my upcoming Spartan Race and Toughmudder race in Sept. and Oct. 2014 - My training goal is to work up to a 12 mile run while performing 15 burpees every two miles. I'm currently running 6 miles and performing the burpees.
My diet is controlled and I do every exercise with intention. I own each movement towards my goal. I'm unbreakable and dwell in beast mode! Not bad at 47 years old
Thanks for the friendships and encouragement!

I'm 5'9 My before was really at 216 but I don't really have many pictures at that weight. If you look at my profile, the picture that I'm wearing black is the closest to it. The bigger picture of me here is at around 185. And it's not technically an 'after' yet... still have quite a bit of toning I want to do but that's me now at around 162. I've been doing cardio like running and completed the 30 day shred which was a huge push I needed. I only lost 3 pounds doing it but I lost a lot of inches and built muscle. I'm doing ripped in 30 now and plan on doing insanity after. Then I want to start heavy lifting I think. I started my journey about 3 years ago now and have been slowly working my way down the scale. My biggest struggle seems to be 'clean' eating... I'm an Italian girl with a sweet tooth, horrible combination between the carbs and sweets. The transformation shown here from 185 to 162 took about 6 months but could have been shorter if I hadn't taken so many cheat days... oops!

This is about 10 months of progress, but really it's 6 months as the past 4 months I've been on maintenance (been hard to do so much when university semester is going on) and have been successful at maintaining my current weight within a 1 kg range for all that time I still have about 8 kg more to lose, but am happy with my results so far.
