I'm still a chubber and still have a clear window of fresh air between the top of my thighs until about midway down my thigh. I should imagine I'll have a proper thigh gap again once I've lost more weight.
But I also have huge, wide hips, well-suited to birthing masculine, strong babies. My midwife told me so (maybe not the last part).
I also have huge baps and small waist - I'll never look like a 12 year old. Whilst aiming for something that's not possible due to your frame can be a problem, denigrating women who do have that frame seems equally stupid.0 -
@ JoRocka...If you bothered to look beyond the profile pic, Im only a size 7 moron, Im not fat anymore. Atleast I have the guts to show a pic of myself, from fat to thin.

I wouldn't set this as a particular goal. Goes for most specific parts of your body where you want to lose weight, I guess. I went from 185 pounds to 148 pounds (69 inches tall), and somewhere during the last 10, I suddenly spotted the 'thigh gap'. Or to be precise, I didn't spot it but my friends did! She said: you lost so much weight! Wait, put your legs together (wearing skinny jeans). Omg, you have a thigh gap! I don''t even have that!"
And I was like... what? Lol. It might seem gorgeous, however I don't think it makes that much of a difference. And don't even think it shows when I sit down (which is when I hate my upper legs the most and when they're the biggest visually) because then it all just 'spreads out' and there's no thigh gap to be seen, lol.0 -

Scissor kicks/jumps and lots of cardio helped me get my gap! But having a "gap" really depends on how your pelvis is positioned. Some people may never achieve it no matter what they do.0

Achieve low body fat. Then you won't care about thigh gap because you'll look good regardless. Just like guys with a six pack don't really care they have large obliques/ and/or large hip bones and not that perfect v-taper

OP - I used to really want a thigh gap as well. After I reached 112 lbs, I sort of one, but not entirely, and definitely not as drastic as those pro-ana blogs show. But now I'm happier (sorta) with my body and it's not a main focus on mine anymore. As other users have mentioned, spot reducing doesn't work.0 -

I have it because it has to do with skeletal structure and the width of your hips. If you have wide set hips, you're likely to have a gap between your thighs once you get below a certain weight regardless of how curvy or healthy you are. I certainly don't look un-curvy, unhealthy or like a 12 year old girl just because I have wide set hips causing a thigh gap. Just the opposite, really.0 -

if you want to slim your inner thighs, long distant running is your answer. Not everyone can have a thigh gap, it depends on the skeleton structure. There is nothing wrong with wanting one, just don't lose too much purely for one.0

Making others insecure of how their body is shaped or their weight is petty, you're an adult at least act like one.
Being skinny has nothing to do with a thigh gap, most of the people in my school were skinny but only like 3 people had thigh gaps. It's all about hips, then body fat.
