Sugar is the CULPRIT!

EVERYTHING can be bad for you in excess, whether it's sugar, fat, etc. Even water can be bad for you if you drink way too much. The key to all of it is MODERATION. I've had to learn that it's okay to have a couple of Oreos if my calorie allowance has room for it; it's not okay to eat the whole bag in one sitting no matter what my calorie allowance is. But saying sugar is the sole problem is false. Too much fat, especially the wrong kinds of fat, can do the same thing. The key is to eat a balanced diet and eat less calories than you burn. I always save a little room in my calories for a special treat at night (usually chocolate ice cream!). The key is that I do two small scoops and that's it. I appreciate those small scoops much more now that I am not indulging in sweets all day long.
I've heard of Dr. Perricone before, and none of it was promoting as reliable. In fact, I found this: http://www.quackwatch.com/11Ind/perricone.html. That's pretty much all I needed to read to make up my mind about him and his "products".0 -
If God wanted you to eat candy bars he would of made them grow on trees.0

Don't shoot the messenger people. Sure you are all just having sugar spikes or withdraw lol. Kidding even though some of you can't take a joke.
Lets just say that I can almost guarantee that lots of you didn't get 50lbs overweight by avoiding sugar. With that being said I rest my case.

That is what I am going to do. Go buy a snickers, then go to the gym for 2 hours and lift weights to burn it off. Thanks, glad I posted today.
What are you doing at the gym that takes TWO hours to burn off one little snickers?0 -

I have nothing to contribute to this thread other than gifs, because the OP clearly has no interest in educating herself. But I am grateful for the entertainment value in MFP's threads today.

Sugar cane is kind of a tree, though, isn't it? Or is it more grasslike?0 -

You don't burn fat, you burn calories, a.k.a. energy, which is stored in fat cells. Fat cells are important, as is energy.0

So you are taking eating advice from a man who sells high priced face cream?
Excellent.
I wonder if I can go on the Biore diet?0 -
If people on here making such light of sugar addiction would of tried eat only what grows on trees diet they would of never been grossly overweight.0

I got fat because I ate too much of everything, not because I ate things with sugar in them. Now if I ate 1200 calories a day of pure sugar, there might be some health issues to come, but I don't because I know what balance means.0 -
I was unaware that meat grew on trees.
What of things that grow in the ground?
Should they be avoided because they don't grow on trees?
Maybe I should ask The Big G.0 -

Manchineel grows on trees. It's also one of the most poisonous trees in the world.
With that being said, I rest my case.0 -
Nice to troll you.
TROLL! BLOODY TROLL! We're aren't supposed to talk about the bloody troll, but there's a bloody troll winking in my face. I want to cut it off, chop it up and make some gauc-a-TROLL-e!
