    It was written by Solomon Northup, the movie was based on this book.
    He is so perceptive, and has such a keen memory of his 12 year struggle.
    Also, the movie does not do justice to his intellect and to some of the few good people he encountered in his struggles.

    Outlander series by Diane Gabaldon (8 books of 600+ pages) (again!) LOVE this series. now has a TV show on sunday nights. read the books first.! awesome story set in Scotland 1800's
