    Happy March everyone! :)

Went to another concert last night. Only had 1 beer. Really wanted another one, but decided I did not need it after Sunday's blow out. Plus as soon as I was done drinking the 1 beer I was immediately hungry! I did not eat though. Ugh why does alcohol make me so hungry?!?!

Well it looks like I'm going to start March on a good note, tonight is the first night for a while I've had no alcohol. Read yet another one of those lovely studies earlier that finds moderate drinking (up to 2 drinks a night) lowers the risk of heart disease and stroke compared to either those who don't drink at all or consume a lot more. Next time I decide to have a couple of glasses of wine with dinner I'll just look on it as medicinal!

OMG how amazing is this group!!! I have a huge family and we all just have drinks together for everything it would seem like.
I have struggled with this for a long time. I will lose weight and then relax and think I am ok. Weekends are the worst besides football time.
But look what we have in March we have St. Patrick's day :drinker: and Mardi Gras :drinker: oh please help me now!!!

Oh, I am so in! I did just find out that Newcastle Nut Brown Ale is only 150 cal per serving, which is fantastic. Also, a 12 oz Guinness is 120 cal. Those two are life savers for me, but my real downfall is going out to a nice restaurant with my husband. I just cannot turn down a delicious red wine...The hard part has been leaving that for special occasions instead of our normal dinner drink. <sigh> Darn those pesky alcohol calories!! :)

This group is great!! Weekends absolutely kill my diet! I will lose through the week but then come Monday I have gained back every bit of my weight and I have to start all over again!! The sad part is I know what the problem is, I love to drink and eat whatever I want on the weekends, but I just cannot bring myself to change it....Feels good to know that I'm not alone though! Maybe I will try to limit my drinking to just one night during the weekend

This is by far my biggest weight loss / healthier me obstacle..so glad I'm not alone!

I also pre plan my wine calories and factor them into my daily allowances. II work a stressful full time job and most nights (ok all nights) look forward to unwinding with a few glasses of wine when the the day is finally over. I've tried cutting it altogether on most days but that didn't work. Instead now I still allow myself it daily, just try to limit it to 2 glasses rather than 4.

I can thank my wife for leading my to this thread. Hi group! My name is Bob, I workout and watch what I eat for 6 days a week. Saturday, all bets are off. I know this has hindered my weight loss but face it, beer is one of my comfort foods. I am comitted to a lifestyle change but my brew has to be part of it, just need to tone it down a little more.
Thanks for letting me be part of this association. :drinker:

back to the viscious cycle. I had extra calories last night so I had a drink. Vodka. but then I wanted more, not good. I am really going to try to say no tonight and tomorrow night and then enjoy some wine on Friday.
