Day three - done.
Still having trouble with bicycle crunches and grabbing my foot during the end stretches. I need to lean on the wall to do it. X-D The muscles are too tight. Needless to say that this makes the "butt kicking" jog a bit difficult. :-D0 -
I'm right there with you one day behind, but some new folks have joined so we're in tune with them. I was having trouble walking up and down the stairs from my quad in one leg and the calf in the other leg - guess I must have been off balance on the first day since I'm not equaly sore :laugh:
I got hit hard with work, so I'm going to try to get back on the shred and running bandwagon this evening - at least the soreness has subsided enought that I feel like I can do these things!0 -

My 2 least favorite things are the butt kicking jog and the one-foot stretch. The jog kills me and if I try to stand on one foot I fall over - balance and grace are not my strongest points.:blushing:
SugarApple - I am going to try really hard to do it for 30 days straight. This weekend will be rough as I'll have a house full of people and getting up early on weekends is totally against my core beliefs, lol. But if I can fit in to that dress in May, it will be worth it. I think.:happy:
kellibean and mydoc - I am so sore I can't get up from my desk without holding on. I want to keep working hard, but I wouldn't mind if the pain lessened at some point in the next 28 days. Either way, I'm going to give it all I've got every day.:bigsmile:

I failed... Day 2 and I just didn't make it to the DVD. Yesterday was my birthday and even though I went to the gym for over an hour, I went out to dinner afterwards. By the time I got home it was after 10pm and any exercise I did would have me up all night. I'll try to get back on the wagon tonight. Fingers are crossed!0

Me, me , me. I want to do this, too. I started my 30 day shred on the 18th. I love it!!! I will get my measurements and list them in my signature. This is going to be great!!!0

Well it's day 3 of the challenge I got in workout 2 level 1 completed. Hopeing my son gets to come home tonight from the hospital. This way I could hopefully make up the missed workout. Don't like the jump rope exercise. Ahhh in a few days with any luck I will stop hating them.0

I did my day 1 this morning - I had to take about 5-10 5 second rest breaks but pushed through. Those 5# weights feel like 20# by the end of the workout. I can already feel some soreness...my legs nearly gave out when I went down the stairs. That surprised me since I've been running the past week.
Here's the bad part...My weight and all my measurements (except my wrist-whoopie) were up today despite eating half of what I used to eat (avg 1700 calories last week), taking my Alli, and running 5 of 7 days plus some extra walking. Sometimes, there's no justice in this world!
Just stick with it and next week you will have a good loss, that usually happens with me. Great job getting your workout done!!
Don't worry about the weight going up. When you begin exercising, your body swells and retains water. This adds to your weight. Keep it up and in a few days you will see a change on the scale. I learned this from a tip of the day from my Jillian Michaels Slim Down app on my iphone. I also witnessed it with through my own experience.0 -

Welcome! Check in here every day and it will help you stay motivated. Seeing everyone else's post makes me feel like I'm not doing it alone. It also helps to know that everyone else is struggling with soreness. If they can push through it, so can I.0 -

I really want to do this but I KNOW myself.... I need to be kept motivated. Would any one like to start this with me? I will start when ever. Monday? That gives 2 days for people to join.
I think we need to take our measurements every 10 days because I hear a lot of people say they don't lose much weight but do lose inches.

Hello everyone, I'm a little new to MFP as well and so far I've just been trying to find a place to fit in. Do you all mind if I join you? I admit I have been doing the shred for a couple of weeks, but I can use the motivation and it definitely won't hurt to keep going. I'm a newish MFP member. Can I still joint this challenge??
I fell off the wagon for a couple of weeks because I rolled my ankle playing soccer. This looked like a good way for my to get back into in and stay motivated.
I plan on doing the Shred 5x/week. I currently work 6 days/week and need a day to do errands etc.0 -

My starting measurements are
210- I havent measured myself but plan on doing that friday.
Today is day 3, and im already wishing they made toilets higher up! LOL.

well i am not hurting too much BUT I am really tired. I just want to put on my pj's and snuggle up in a blanket with a book... sigh.... Thats looser talk though. I guess i'll go put on my workout clothes, head down stairs and start my workout... lol... I look really pathetic right now. haha0

The more people we have the better I think. most of us are on day three, some have just started. A couple have had to take a day off.
Myself and some others are adding this into our regular workout routine. Others are Just doing the SHRED. Do what ever think is right for you.

and apparently, I can not do push ups!!
do you all do something else during times you are unable to do certain things?
I kept trying but I just could not do them!!
Also, 5 pound weights = toooooo heavy. I need to get smaller ones STAT.

haha. day one i could not do 1 'girl' push up.... now 3 days later I can do 10 LOL. Maybe one day i can do them properly? Just do what you can with the pushups. go on your knees and just TRY your hardest, they don't need to be pretty.
I use 3 lb weights and on some workouts, like the side lunge arm raise, I do it until i think my arms are going to fall off then I just drop the weights and do the rest without.... Still burns, love it. I DO wish I had 5lbs for the butterfly press...
Instead of waiting till you get weights just use your 5lbs for what you can and either drop them or use soup cans for the rest till you get smaller weights.
I got my hubby to do it with me today. He called Jillian a *****. LOL.0 -
Just did Day 2.....it was much better than Day 1...
I did all of the jumping jacks with no substituting this time...I am so proud of me. I did one set of wall push ups and and then the girl push-ups and I was able to do 10 in a row...way better than the 5 I could barely do on Monday
Time to get me some 3lbs weights though for now I am using two cans of peas :blushing:
and to top it all off I did it right after 40 minutes of Zumba Woo Hoo!!!.....didnt think I could do it but I told myself I can let myself get more days behind the group....so glad I joined this group...now I have an extra push to do this workout0
