Fantastic!!! My first mile is always my worse, I always start off thinking I'm going to die LOL Keep up the good work, that is a great PB!
Yep, the thought I might die did cross my mind! Thanks!
Next one is on Thanksgiving morning. It's hard to imagine I can beat today's PB, but I only started running in July so even one hour would have seemed impossible then.

Been interesting reading the comments about the 5ks. Now that I've signed up to a 10k I started remembering the sight of the runners who did a 5k that I volunteered at a few months ago. They were stumbling over, gasping for breath and some were sick. What have I let myself in for???????? LOL

    10/26: 8.18 miles on elliptical.

This goal actually seems attainable now.

Hmm. Will have to run a bit beyond my current plan to make the goal, but it's doable.

    10 miles today.

New shoes seem to have helped. I also tried taping my shins with Kinesio tape; I guess it helped, but I can't rule out the placebo effect either.

Survived my 2nd Half! It was brutal and I went out too fast and then died the 2nd half but I finished! The weather was perfect, the area was beautiful (vineyards) but the hills were killers! My nephew had a blast (this was his first race and he has only been running for 3 months). He finished under 2 hours which was his goal. I can say I did it but I honestly don't think I will run this one again. We did have fun drinking beer and wine with everyone afterwards (yes at 10 am )

Just back from a long weekend escape for my birthday. If any of you climbed Mt Monadnock in NH last weekend & saw the chic in fire orange fall on her assets; I have no idea who that was :# This was my first time on a zip line and OOh My So gonna do that again!!!!
@stmadoesboy Nice work hitting your goal early while on holiday!! No sunbathing on my vacation, but my girlfriends definitely thought I was crazy for getting up early to run after partying late.
@MrsKGrady :( Listen to your doctor...the walking will keep you active & you'll be running again. btw LOVE the new profile pic!!! Was that for a race?
@ShortMrsN sorry to hear about the nerve pain, I've struggled with sciatica off & on in the past & there is hope. Stretching, PT, massage, or even a chiropractor may be the key, but don't be discouraged. You'll beat this!
@skippygirlsmom 11.79 miles WHOO-HOO!!! You are killin' it out there!!!
@Stoshew71 you had a 20 miler back there on the 18th & I missed it, NICE! & Thanks again for doing this. I really look forward to seeing everyone's progress here.
@ddmom0811 Great new PR! B) Can't wait to hear about your successful Thanksgiving race.
@shanaber 2 halfs in the same month- You are awesome. It was SO great of you to do this with your nephew. Running for just 3 months & a HM in under 2hrs, imagine how fast he'll be next time-he has a lifetime sport now! And for the win- post race Wine at 10am! Love it!!

To everyone who surpassed their goals already(or doubled them) GO YOU!!! To everyone like me who is still trying to get theirs, We got this!!! To everyone who doesn't think they're going to reach their goal but is still running anyway, You are the greatest among us. It is better to have tried and lost than to have never tried at all.

Thank @fabnine!! I had a forced rest day today (pouring rain.....and I do not run in the rain!! ) and my leg is feeling back to normal. I can still make my goal for the month...I'm so close I'm sure I can knock it out in 2 runs!!
