12/6 - Twisted bad ankle/foot. Its bruised pretty bad. Need it to heal
12/7- 12/9 RICE on ankle/foot
12/10 - 2 miles walking on treadmill (limped badly, so stopped)
This totally sucks!! My first month doing a challenge and I can't even get any miles in. I tried to walk last night and my foot/ankle was not having it. I'll just have to do what I can if anything.
One of my daughters sprained her ankle several times one year. Each time she gave it less time to heal leaving it vulnerable to a sprain again. The last one was so severe the doctor told her she'd never have 'normal' strength and flexibility in the joint again. Years ago she used to run with me- the repeated injuries make that impossible now.
Give your body time to heal- it is worth the wait.
@skippygirlsmom & @Shanaber- I never intended to run twice yesterday, but when my friend showed up to run in the rain I was not about to say no. I warned him I was already spent & off we ran. My spits were all over the place- flying down hills & staggering up. I felt fine except for my fingers and toes because my shoes & gloves were soaked through. The right gear makes a huge difference. And before you decide I'm invincible or crazy, that 2nd run should have been 10.5 miles, but around 8 miles I actually called my man to say I cannot stay out here in this any longer, please come rescue me.

Think I may have to graciously (but with much grumpiness) bow out of this months challenge:(
My calf is not happy, after my gentle run on Tuesday the pain flared up again. I had planned to run today but the short run between my kids classrooms put a stop to that.
Hoping I haven't damaged myself too badly and I'll be back in January!!!
Keep on running everyone!!:)0 -

@minnygirl1 - she is much better sport than me. When I asked why she didn't tell me what really happened while we were there, she said "Momma you would have gone all Jersey on the girl" LOL so true!
@shortmrsn - sorry to hear your calf is taking you out for the rest of the month. Take care of yourself and heal, see you in January!

Keeping it on track. My knees are still hangin' in there. I've started drawing pictures with my runs on the map using my Garmin GPS watch. Heh.... It makes extending the run distances a little more interesting. Big mall parking lots make a nice canvas, but it's a lot harder to visualize and implement than I though it would be. I wonder if I'm the only weirdo that does this.

I've never done it purposely, but it always makes for a nice surprise when I get home and can say "oh, I drew a whale!". Maybe I should start planning for it0 -
I think I'm fairly on track to make my goal for the month. I'm just about to make a tentative plan of run days and lengths, so that I know how I'll do it. Also today's run was my fastest ever which was a great feeling! (32 minute 5k)

Just read about your daughter skippygirl - how awful!
I am back on track with my running - working through the c210K app - so did 2.5 miles today.

My doctor cleared me to run after two weeks off. I eased back into it with an easy 3.5 miles. I cut my original goal down from 75 miles and probably come up short on that. I want to sure my feet are completely healed before I start ramping up the mileage.
