I did 4 miles on 12/13 and 4 on 12/14 bringing my monthly total to 31. I need to get in some longer runs in order to meet my goal this month! Though I think I should get double points for Saturday's run - 4 miles on wet trails pushing the double Bob stroller (about 100lbs betweent he kids and stroller). Fun but exhausting! My oldest got out and ran a few of the hills with me and lightened the load a bit. :p

I did actually LOL on that one -- especially when he ran in jeans before his company arrived. Thanks for sharing. I wasn't familiar with a streak until I saw Fabnine and others post "streak" next to their mileage. I'm tempted to try it! I hate the days I take off but everyone keeps telling me "you must take a day of rest"!

I was looking at the calendar last night and mapping out my exercise for the rest of December and thought about running on Christmas day, but I was thinking it sounded a little obsessive. Then again, I don't care what people think anymore.

Definitely mastered the treadmill on the cruise ship trick this past week as the top deck running track wasn't open for more than 1 run due to strong winds. The secret to it seems to be just picking the machine closest to the centerline of the boat and fixating on the horizon.

    Dec 14 - 20 miles
    Dec 13 - 5 miles
    Dec 11 - 5 miles
    Dec 10 - 8 miles
    Dec 9 - 5 miles

OMG - I feel seasick just reading about it!! That's commitment there!! Well done!

@ddmom0811 - I tried a streak in November. My goal was to run every day that month. I only made it through 11 days and I had to take a day off - my body was exhausted. I have so much respect now though, for Fabnine and others who run everyday! I know I will try it again at some point - maybe next year over the holidays
As for running on Christmas - heck yes! I went for a long run on Thanksgiving too. It is a chance to get away from the craziness for an hour or so! Consider it a Christmas present to yourself!

It looks like I will beat my goal which is a pretty amazing feeling given my hectic life at the moment. I realize that my runs are not very long compared to some but if you would have told me in March, when I started running consistently, that I would be where I am today I would have never believed you! :)

For anyone contemplating a Holiday Running streak this is a cute article:
    http://www.runnersworld.com/race-training/a-season-to-streak?
"I found out legs don't hurt on days off when you never take a day off. You never feel guilty about the run you don't take when you take them all. You don't have favorite running clothes—you have whatever is clean and whatever works, which is whatever you happen to grab when you reach into the drawer. Individual runs are not important, but running as a whole feels more so."

@shanaber & @ddmom811 and anyone else considering a streak this quote from that article summed up streak running for me. Well- except that I actually do still have favorite running clothes. I'm kind of a girly girl. After only 113 days running is just another part of my everyday life it really is like brushing my teeth. In the beginning I felt guilty for choosing the just 1 mile option, but the truth is some days I have other things to do. So I get my mile in and I go on living. Streak running has taken the performance pressure off. There's no one to beat and nothing to prove just me and the ground beneath my feet.

Isn't it a wonderful feeling to look back at where you were and how much you have accomplished? Your runs are great and one of these days when time permits you will go out for 3-4 and run 5 or even 6 and then a long run of 8! Watch out it is addicting!! Great job!!

Halfway through the month, and I'm halfway to the goal. Right on track!

I missed posting after the 12/12 run. This catches things up. My runs are gradually getting longer. I'm increasing distance on a percentage basis; that's why the distances are so oddball. On an up note, my knees are still holding out. Yay!

    12/3/2014 - 3.33 Miles - Cumulative 3.33 Miles.
    12/4/2014 - 4.12 Miles - Cumulative 7.45 Miles
    12/6/2014 - 3.14 Miles - Cumulative 10.59 Miles (Set a 5K PR on this one of 27:23)
    12/8/2014 - 2.13 Miles - Cumulative 12.72 Miles
    12/9/2014 - 4.08 Miles - Cumulative 16.80
    12/11/2014 - 4.28 Miles - Cumulative 21.08
    12/12/2014 - 2.62 Miles - Cumulative 23.70
    12/14/2014 - 4.72 Miles - Cumulative 28.42

    GOAL: 50 Miles

I took some time off and I was able to get some miles in yesterday. I probably will not make my goal this challenge, but that is okay.
