    30 squats for this challenge

Did 20 goblet squats as part of my program. I will be walking on my hands tomorrow.

Hi, I'm new and would love to join this challenge. I will be using the "beginner squat challenge' as my reference and will do my first 20 now.

I'm in...I can't do 1 perfect - all the way down, heels on ground, don't grab a door knob, don't fall over - squat. I like the way this one starts on something I can actually do, a counter balance box squat.

If I can do 1 real squat by the 15th I'll be shocked - my hips and ankles just don't want to flex that way.

I had difficulty but found these squats exercises very helpful and a lot easier because the feet are pointed out slightly. the squat section starts at 2.10

    Good Luck!!

Thanks Delilahhhhhh! Convict Conditioning is what actually got me interested in doing squats. I have been able to do the shoulderstand squats but I'm stuck on the jacknifes. I can do them if I hold on to something but not with just my palms on a surface (I always fall backwards or go up on my toes).

I can do the box squats and have completed day 1 and day 2. I think a lack of hip mobility is my biggest issue (followed by ankles). I can do squats to parallel just not deep squats (YET!).

I tried, I really tried... but I could not get past 10 reps. :( I'm not just a beginner, I'm more like a sloth. I have very little muscle in my legs and now they feel like jello! Exercise always makes me feel like I have the flu. So I'll have to modify it a little bit for what I am physically capable of doing. One day I will be able to do it correctly!

Tmaryam, you might want to try spacing them out over the day too, if you can't do them all at once. I saw in the notes it was suggested as an option so that might help you build up to more squats at a time. Good luck!

How are all of you recording your squats for the challenge? Squat is on the exercise database, but when I try to enter/select it, it says that exercise doesn't exist.

Since it only takes a minute to do them, I'm not entering anything. I only enter activity that lasts 20 minutes or more, though. Calorie burn will be negligible on this challenge but will be great for the leg muscles.

    2/2 - Done!

tmaryam.. Dont give up! Space out the squats thru your entire day. One here, one there.. theyll add up! And as another member mentioned, you will slowly build up strength. Ive done my first 15 for today, now I will finish up the last 15 between now and bed. Good luck to everyone starting and those moving along : )
