Day 2 of my exercise postings:
25 side leg raises
25 knee raises
Happy legs!
Day 3
25 side leg raises
25 knee raises
25 seat belts! Touch your opposite shoulder and with a slight twist come across the body to the waist. Both sides as sometimes we aren't the driver!
Day 4
25 side leg raises
25 knee raises
25 seat belts
25 side stretches
Day 6 no 5
Okay do Day 4 plus add a minute walk before and after exercises.
Oh my I don't even know what day I'm on! Sorry!
We need to do day 6 and then do it again! Yep 2 sets!
So we should be
walking for 1 minute
25 side legs, 25 knee raises,25 seat belts, and 25 side stretches
1 minute walking
Take a 30 second break and do it all again0 -
I have had a very stressful week! My mom who is 87 has some dementia issues and she has just had a lumpectomy done yesterday! My sister, bless her heart, came and stayed with her for the week so I could stay home this week for work. I normally make the 75 mile trip every 3 days if not more often and spend the night with her, she is not ready to move to a health care facility. But my sister is also trying to lose weight and is a very good cook so we shared a couple good meals and I still was able to have a 1 lb weight loss.

I normally make the 75 mile trip every 3 days if not more often and spend the night with her, she is not ready to move to a health care facility. Thinking of you today and praying that you feel better too. Your post was timely for me as I am feeling REALLY stressed out too (too much work, not enough time). I'm so glad that you and your sister are doing this together. It's great to be able to lean on each other. My problem at the moment is lack of sleep because my mind is always working work even when I sleep. Then I wake up and .... So my goal today is to enjoy the moments as they come, work out this morning (short swim and then water aerobics) and go to work. No matter what, there are always great things that happen during the day. I need to be aware of them! Praying for less stress! Blessings! Suzy.

I have 83.5 pounds I'd LIKE to lose. It's a daunting number, but I know I can do it. I would love to support everyone with goals as lofty and big as mine, because I know for a fact that you can achieve anything you want, as long as you want it bad enough.0

You are correct, you can do it. I've read so many success stories on here that it's mind blowing. However, if you want it you can do it. Once the mind is set the rest falls into place. Will it be an easy journey? Nope, but a more beautiful person , inside and out , will be at the end of the journey.
Log every bite of food that goes in your mouth, even gum. Once your aware of the calories some foods are, then plan your meals and snacks accordingly.
I too, have a large amount of weight to lose. So come join the ride0 -
OK, as we're all kinda on the same path working at long-term changes and sometimes slow progress, this weekend's time change here in the US (and a bunch of other locales) will undoubtedly toss a little curve-ball into the new routines and habits that we're all working on...
Yep, many of us will turn the clocks FORWARD tomorrow night and lose an hour of our precious daytime.
My typical approach to this is to stay active (not eating) late tonight, then wake early Saturday and begin the day with an apple, some caffeine, and some sort of "get my body moving" activity. this'll make me "pre-tired" so I can get to sleep earlier on Saturday evening to wake earlier on Sunday (after the clock adjustment) where I'll repeat the apple/caffeine/activity strategy.
How do all of you address the lost hour this time of year??0 -
I usually address the lost hour by complaining and walking around in a zombie like state for weeks. My husband has been going to bed earlier for the last week to prepare. My sleep schedule is so messed up anyway that it doesn't seem to help me at all. If I tried going to bed earlier, I'd just lay there for an hour trying to get to sleep! I will have to set an alarm to make sure I'm getting to work on time, something that I haven't had to do for the last several months.
I must say that I am way too excited that it will be getting dark later now! (After work bicycle rides, here I come!)0 -

Well, hadn't thought about it. I do know I do the happy dance in the fall when I get another hours sleep
Usually by bed time I'm so tired I barly get the blankets pulled up before I'm asleep. So if it's the same Saturday, I won't have a problem

Thank you all for the words of encouragement! We all have our crosses to bear but it is so much easier when we share and know we are not alone! As we spring forward remember to take time for ourselves. Spring is not far away and we can maybe get outside for some fresh air and walking!

Preparing for the time change isn't something I worry about. I generally go to bed between midnight and 2 a.m. as I'm not under any pressure to awake at any particular time; although, I do try to get out of bed by 8 a.m. If I get tired on Sunday I will take an afternoon nap. Retirement gives one the luxury of "working the clock" to their advantage. One of the reasons I go to bed late is so I will fall asleep within about 2 minutes of when my head hits the pillow. I hate lying in bed with the events of yesterday, today and tomorrow going thru my mind.0

Hi all, just checking in. Was excited when I weighed in this morning. Down 2.5 pounds, total of 17 pounds in 6 weeks. If I can keep this pace I will be down another 30 pounds by our daughters wedding. Then I won't be ashamed to have pictures taken . Happy Monday to all.

Happy Monday! We finally have some nice, warm(er) weather here in Wisconsin! Plan on taking a 2-3 mile walk this noon and enjoy the sunshine!

I see there's been some discussion about daylight savings time. Well, it is what it is. Can't say I like the darker hours in the morning since I'm usually out the door by 5 a.m., BUT, I've got to admit, it is nice in the evening. Hopefully our warmer weather will stay.

It's raining here in my part of Texas, but we'll take it we need the rain after our drought of the last couple of summers.
I've lost 2 pounds since my last weigh in. I want to lose at least 18 more by May 1st. I'm trying to increase my walking to reach that goal, along with watching my calorie intake.

57 for a few more weeks - I am in, down so far over 20 pounds with another 6 to hit my goal. I can now actually run a few miles where before I couldn't even run out to my car without being winded.

Count me in. I am not quite 50 but I am fully through menopause so I may as well be. I have been working at this since Jan 5, lost 20 so far, 50 to 65 to go depending on when I stop.0

Welcome everyone. I try to get on here everyday to check in. I faithfully log my food each day and it has paid off. I have a bunch to lose but wanted to lose as much as I could by June. Our daughter is getting married and didn't want to be embarrassed to have pictures taken. Just wish I had started earlier.

Weather is better here in Nebraska also! Got a mile walk in yesterday while Mother napped! Hope to get another in today and start watching those eating habits a bit closer as I had a gain this week. Only .4 but still a gain, will make it a point to do better at portion control this week! Hope everyone has a great finish to the week!0

I would like to join also. I started about a month ago and am down 6 lbs with about 15 to go. MUCH harder when you get a little older, but determined!! I'm 62, recently retired nurse and ready to wear my jeans with shirt tucked in again!

The weather has finally broken, the cold is gone (hopefully until next winter), and the sun is shining. I expect I will take the convertible out of hibernation today. My motto is: If it's 40° and the sun is shining then the top is down. Well, it's 51° out right now. I started this journey on 12/27/14 and am down 23 lbs. to 193+. My original goal was 190 by April 1st; but, I've determined I want to get to 180. Assuming I make it by the end of April, I will consider going on down to 170 - what I weighed when I got out of boot camp in 1966. The real purpose of this weight loss is to regain the golf game (what little game I had, anyway) I've lost over the past few years. FORE!!!0
