37; 5'6; small frame; starting weight: 148 CW: 134.6 goal weight : 125-130. Not sure yet. Pick small goals you can accomplish consistently. Eat all the things you like, in moderation. Don't have a timeline for when you want to reach your goal. Only do this if you are creating a life change; a restrictive diet will not create long term success. Don't focus on exercise until your diet is under control. Weight loss us about calories I , calories out, not about how much you sweat.0

Tip - Log as accurately as you can. Weight fluctuates so watch the trend and don't get hung up on single weigh in's. Find activities that you enjoy and that keep you active. Don't let a bad day turn into a bad week/month/year.0 -
I am 39 started at 300lbs, and i am 5'5". Want to get back down to 140 but will be happy with 150 right now so 20lbs to go. I was down to 135lbs before thyroid removal and still struggling to get that off. Course some its fault some self sabotage :-(
Not sure of tips i follow very low carb since my body seems to grab a hold of them like no tomorrow. And of course exercise. And DONT mess yourself up with self sabotage as i keep doing ugh! Willpower i need to find you again0 -

Be patient. You will lose some weeks, you will maintain some weeks, you may even gain some weeks. Don't freak out over one trip to the scale. What matters is the overall downward trend.
For exercise, find something that you like to do. It doesn't have to be what everybody else is doing. You don't have to be a runner or do Stronglifts 5x5 or yoga if they don't appeal to you. It's more important to find something you'll stick with than to follow the crowd.0 -
My goal wait is probably around 125-130 (although once I get there it may be lower).

This, but 24yo, SW 188. I don't do much cardio, focus on lifting.
Tip: eat the way you plan to eat while maintaining your weight... just less food. If you don't plan to eat low-carb for life, don't eat low-carb for weight loss, etc.0 -

Even though that is still in the overweight cat, I was at 157 for years and was happy, comfortable, toned and looked good and went between an 8 and 10 in pants. My Doctor was good with that weight. I'm not a small boned gal but not big either. I eat at a calorie deficit and cardio on the treadmill and my sons weight bench has opened up a whole new world. I also got a Fitbit Zip and it has really motivated me to keep moving. I started this 12/26 and have lost 16 pounds with 16 more to go.

26yo, 6'0 was 5'10.5'' before my spinal fusion (scoliosis) april 2014.
SW:118lb (2011) I have a very small frame.
CW:141lb
GW: My running decides my weight. (distance runner). Intake 3000+
The fusion kinda stretched my upper body. So I might be 6'0, but I weigh the same when I was 5'10. And I love it!

My starting weight was 220lbs (though I lost 20lbs of that with the Special K diet and then kind of stopped trying). When I got serious about health and fitness, I was 196lbs. I"m 28 years old and 5'3.5".
My current weight is 114lbs and my goal weight is 110lbs.
Right now I do a loooot of running, strength training, and I've started eating cleaner. I sort of spent the first few years muddling through the process of weight loss by myself with no real guidance, just tips from the Biggest Loser. I spent all of last year in a plateau until I changed my diet, my workout, and joined myfitnesspal. But I'm learning more every day and doing better!0 -

For me, its more of a fat loss goal than dropping weight (bulked for a decade and put on too much fat ).

At 5'8 125lbs is plenty light enough. You're not going to "get toned" unless you make sure you are prioritizing muscle maintenance (proper protein intake, ideally heavy lifting if not a requirement) and have a slower deficit. Would be better to eat at maintenance and lift weights for a handful of months then try your hand at a small bulk, then once you're back up to maybe 135, go on a small cut to focus on fat loss.0 -
I don't have a Goal Weight. I have Goal Abs.

get plenty of rest, water, and a lifestyle change that works best for you and your body and exercise you love. It is about lifestyle transformation not just weight. It is good to know why you are overweight and work on yourself mentally and spiritually as well so one geals completely and builds self confidence.0 -

Eat real food. Is that how you want to live the rest of your life?

I'm trying to remember this is a way to live forever so no extremes, try to incorporate exercise into my life on a daily basis. Weigh without becoming obsessed by the number.

I have a goal size rather than a goal weight, because my weight isn't accurate. 5'11", US 12-14 dress size. That would be my advice, though. Look beyond a number on the scale, because it's a slow process, and there will be plenty of weeks where you don't lose or it looks like you've gained, but it's just water. Track your measurements and clothing size, and look at how your clothes fit.
If the measurements are going the wrong way and your clothes are getting tighter in places they shouldn't for an extended length of time, then worry about the weight not moving.0
