Weddings do funny things to people. I've lost two of my closest friends due to weddings. When I got married we went to mexico and she was not happy at our choice of resort or the fact that we moved the wedding up. I told her I completely understood if she couldn't go b/c we moved the wedding up and she didn't have as much time to save. She got all pissy about it - that was 7 years ago.
My other friend who was my best friend since the 3rd grade told me, after she paid for her trip to my wedding, that her fiance was laid off and they couldn't afford for her to go. I told her it was a vacation as well and she could pick which ever color blue dress she wanted. I wanted no fuss with my wedding (my dress was only $200.00 which was a good thing since I ripped when it got caught in the heel of my shoe and it got covered in sand). She still wasnt' able to make it and I refunded her money - i understand that things happen. Well, during a fight she told me that the real reason she didn't go was b/c she thought I was being bridezilla, expecting her to pay $1500.0 to attend my wedding and a true friend wouldn't do that. Well, the gloves came off and I told her how I really felt about her racist, redneck fiance (now husband). It has been 3 or 4 years and we haven't spoken since (even when we ran into each other at a festival).
When you cut the grass, the snakes come out and you see who really is there for you. Sometimes, it means you lose people in the end.
That is very similar to this situation. Although, my friend did know that I planned on this spring or early summer, so I was still within the expected time frame - I had not set a date previously!
What is wrong with people? I just don't understand. I love my friends, and thankfully most of them are married now, but if any of them had eloped I would have been happy as heck. I think weddings are so boring. Don't invite me! I will never be mad.0 -

That's why we did it, really. We are both super shy introverts and the thought of even 50 people staring at us during an intimate moment was just awful to us. We had wanted a very small wedding, just our parents and best friends, but our parents were doing that thing "if you invite me, then you have to invite my brother, and if he comes, his kids should be invited..." and I was like, stop this nonsense.

Please don't think I'm stupid. I like popcorn. Especially the buttery explosion kind. 1 box of popcorn has 3 bags and I ate one bag of popcorn. The nutrition label is a little confusing ( the servings)
Did I eat 425.5 calories? The popcorn is really good. I would really like to believe everyone else's answer of 160 or 200 calories but I honestly feel like I've been lying to myself. Everything delicious is usually around 500 calories0 -

Yea that's what I was afraid of. Everyone here at my job has been telling me no, nutrition labels aren't supposed to be that complicated. You shouldn't have to do all that math. Just go by what the box says. I knew it!!! This world is designed to make me fat!!0 -
Does anyone else ever see a list like this and feel like you have no idea what 90% of those things are? Talk about feeling dumb, but I just sat on my butt for way too long trying to make sense of a similar list.

I tried planks for the first time ever today. I did the first one and held it for twenty-five seconds. I thought it wasn't that bad and I was awesome. I couldn't figure out what the fuss was about. Then I attempted the second one and basically fell after nine seconds. I will try this again tomorrow because I feel it would probably benefit me.
Lately, I've been struggling to lose more weight and I have a lot to go. I've been thinking I might need to take a week off my diet, but the idea terrifies me. I am maintaining my current weight eating 1050-1150 calories and doing between fifty-eight and sixty-eight minutes (depends on the playlist) of Zumba/dance fitness a day and heavy lifting on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I am worried if I try to eat maintenance I will gain back weight. I have a doctor's appointment to address this, but scared that they won't know what to do and it'll be back to me not being able to lose weight no matter what I did.
Keep working on the planks - they are really beneficial in a lot of ways.
What type of doctor are you seeing? Because if they aren't nutrition or weight-loss specialists I would take their advice fairly lightly. Not to disparage all doctors, but it seems when it comes to weight loss you'll get a large variety of advice, not all of it accurate. It is important to discuss this with them, but sometimes it's just a matter of trial and error. Good luck! (obviously, I'm behind on this thread again and trying to catch up)
I have to see my regular GP first and bring my food diary with me (I keep a hard copy). That will show her the months where I didn't lose weight eating higher amounts and the stall. Doing that gets me the referral. If I don't do it that way my insurance is all nope and rude about it! I'll end up getting blood taken at the same appointment and it might result in an adjustment of my medications, which could be a quick fix (yes, please).0 -
