Because your body now has much less "cushion" in certain areas [/quote]
Can I just say your before/after pics show an amazing and really inspiring change.2 -

So much this. How are you doing it??? Logging everything I eat, exercising several days a week and slowly learning that if I eat nutritious meals, I am not as hungry. Oh...that sounds like too much work.
Well put and so true. People look really interested until I tell them what I have been doing for the past 400+ days.11 -
That i would be able to feel my tailbone. My back area lost fat i didnt want to leave.

Exactly. Makes me feel uncomfortable at times how some people treat me and it's because I am fitter now. I feel my size/weight should not matter. I get more positive attention from women and intimidate more guys. My purpose was not for this it was just to be healthy. I just told myself it is something I will have to get used to.

I hate it when people comment on my weight at all. The one person who never used to make any comment told me I look normal now...

Husband can't keeps his hands off me. He was always loving and affectionate, but he's a hundred time more so now!11

1) Helping or inspiring others on their weight loss journey!
2) "Those" jeans I wanted to fit into are suddenly too big.
3) How much more you can eat when eating healthy.
4) Realizing how many chocolate chip cookies I used to eat...I do miss them...
This blog is amazing!7 -

Getting hugged by my husband and him telling me I'm all skin and bones. (Which I'm not). How good it truly feels to hear a compliment again.6

In is not so much about weightloss as it is about the increased excersise. My laundry basket is overflowing with sportsclothing and I have one load more than usual in the machine every week8

man you never get used to it I've found. Hell maybe I'm just not good at taking compliments...the other thing is they all want to know your "secret" When I tell them to watch their diet wake up at 3:45 am go to the gym then run, shower and work your normal 12 hour shift I am called crazy.7 -
People who saw you as their 'fat friend' can't work out how to treat you when you end up smaller than them all of a sudden. I'm now middle of a group of friends and the two girls who are bigger than me can act really off with me. But I know it's their problem rather than mine so let the get on with it until they get over it.13

I hear people commenting on the jealous friends. I can totally tell my weight loss makes some people jealous. It just really bugs me because I am doing this so I can be healthy not look better than them. It's just amazing to me that others feel threatened all because you want to be healthier and not die at a younger age. Just goes to show where peoples' priorities are.15

All my life I was the "big" sister and now I am the "little" one. The whole family gets weird at family gatherings.10

A few comments:
Knees - For every pound of weight you lose you take 10 pounds of pressure off your knees.
Men - For every 10 pounds of weight loss you "gain" an inch. This is because the "fat pad" is smaller and allows more of your barbell to show.
I think the common thinking is 6lbs of pressure from your joints for every pound lost, and its 1/2 inch for every 35 pounds. If it was an inch for every ten pounds, there would be NO fat men.

I will never understand this length obsession with penises. Give me an average length penis with above average girth and I am a happy woman! Better yet, how about a guy who truly cares for and encourages me to be the best me I can be and lets me care for and encourage them to be the best of themselves.

Now that I live across the world from them, I find myself not sharing that I'm on a new training program or even sharing my concrete successes because they've "heard that before". "How long with this diet last?" No one says it but if the roles were reversed this is what would be going through my mind. I thought I would love the comments from them about how great I look, but I would almost rather they didn't say anything. It forces me to see AGAIN how rock-bottom I was!
This resonates with me. All my attempts in the past I'd say to my husband "I'm going to start xyz". I've stopped telling him what I'm doing now because his (lack of) reaction hurts, and I don't want to feel that way.
It was kind of cool to sit him down the other day and show him pictures of me 'now' versus 'then' (20 lbs down so far). He hadn't really seen just how big of a difference it's made8 -
1) How light on your feet you'll be. I find myself wanting to jump around or run just because I can.
2) How proud you'll be of your accomplishment, and how it will give you the confidence to tackle other goals.
3) That you'll not only lose inches, you'll lose years. Seriously, everyone looks at least 10 years younger when they lose weight! And, usually, you'll feel 10 years younger too!11 -

why is sitting and laying down uncomfortable?
I know you're not asking me, but I find laying down uncomfortable now because my old favourite positions don't work anymore - less fat to prop me up!

Loved reading the Comments. Even though I gained back alot if weight I never paid much attention to any if this. And i should have. I lost 160 pounds and wasn't ready for the Psychological side of it a regained almost all of it. Wish I had gotten some help but I went to support groups but i never got peace about why I sabotaged Myself like that. Nobody Prepared me for the Changes that took place. As a result I still thinking i was Fat and eventually I gained weight now 255 and realized now how Thin I was.

- watching your arms and legs get smaller. it's not really about my stomach because while i've noticed that definitely shrinking a LOT, it's so weird to me watching while laying down my legs and arms move and seeing how thin they're getting - and seeing my muscles grow. it's been tripping me out ever since it first started.
- watching what you eat, which makes you feel better/healthier! no processed foods, indulging when you get a craving but not overeating (or for those of us with EDs, a binge).
- watching your chest, back, and face contour and shift fat.
- feeling your metabolism skyrocket.
there're many pluses. these are some i've experienced.9 -

I feel like they're disrespecting the discipline and hard work it takes to be healthy ...
Yes this. I am a foodie. I think about food and plan meals. For people who live with a mind set on food it is really hard work to drive by all the easy drive troughs. It takes work everyday to plan to live healthy. No short cuts.
Health is you first wealth so work on it.

- That losing weight isn't always an instant fix to my problems.
- That I can get tired of hearing compliments on my weight loss, just treat me like you always have!
- I can't afford buying a new wardrobe every couple of sizes so I literally have one pair of jeans that somewhat fit right now lol
- That I have been on the losing side for the last couple years and I still surprise myself when I look in the mirror, I still see myself as being heavier than I am.
- I ordered uniforms for college in too big of a size (size I thought I was) now Im stuck with them for the next year.
- How much energy I have now, I used to sleep 8-10 hours every night, now I'm good with about 6.
- How bad I feel if I skip my walk/jog for the day.
- I don't even know that Im being hit on because it never used to happen.
- That the compliments have went from, "You look great, keep up the good work!" to "Don't get too skinny that you start to look sick!" Come on people! I'm still technically 30lbs from my goal and that will put me in the higher end of a normal BMI...
- The list could go on for pages....

All my life I was the "big" sister and now I am the "little" one. The whole family gets weird at family gatherings.
Agreed! My whole family is on the larger side and I used to be the biggest out of 4 sisters right from childhood. Now I probably only weigh 15lbs more than my oldest sister which has always been the skinniest. I can't get used to it yet.2 -

Sometimes a person's handicap isn't visible. I just had a knee scope done and I do have knee issues that will never go away. It is hard to sit (yes with covering the seat) on the shorter toilets so if it is available I may use the handicap stall. My mother has the opposite problem. She finds the handicap toilets too tall.2 -

Thanks, for sharing your experience. Skin elasticity is an issue that many have on their minds. It is especially helpful that you shared the amount of time it can take to regain a level of tautness to skin.
Personally, one of the best feelings is going shopping for clothes. Subconciously, I would reach for the largest sizes...then suddenly remember I don't need the 3X or size 26. Pure magic!8
