Thanks! It's the best advice yet I have actually talked to her and she told me to go on basically the atkins diet log EVERYTHING I eat also that I have a thyroid issue and a small metabolic disorder. After my father died I just stopped caring about anything and food was one of those things.

I hold water too....a lot ( i gain of one dinner out almost 8 pound and that was not just one time ...almost every time i eat out and get to much salt bammmmm water weight)

So you can go to a doctor yes you can go on Atkins...you can restrict yourself from food groups
It doesn't matter at all.
It comes down (which ever way you choose it) to eating less calories than you burn.
The simple way for me to do that ( with my medical conditions i add no salt at all and i am carefull with adding sugar and yes i still eat fruit....a lot) is to WEIGH ALL YOUR SOLID FOODS ON A FOOD SCALE AND LOG THEM.... and measure your liquids ( only the liquids that contain calories)
Fill in the MFP settings and goals and eat around your calorie allowance number.
Count what you eat a day and create a deficit ( so eat less calories than you burn)
That is really the only way to lose weight. Now your medical conditions, your deficit, and some other factors will determent how much to lose and how fast lose.
You can deny, you can choose other options
But its your journey, your body, and your health
How much do you want this, there is no easy way out......you gained it. Now this is the way to lose
Be honest to your self because your body is the perfect calculator of every calorie you eat.
It doesn't care if you are hungry or not, over eat, under eat etc. It counts and dont lie about the intake.

Its good that you're seeing a specialist though, I hope you can get some real answers and figure out how to continue on your weight loss and health journey.

I think logging is a great idea and you should keep that up for at least a couple of weeks then reassess
But weigh everything ...not 0.8 of a serving but how much you ate in grammes

You need to log everything you are currently grazing on
After a few days of that you'll see why you're putting in weight
You could experiment with feeling hungry by taking a small fast ...say not allowing yourself to eat until supper time ...
But seriously weigh your food and log it accurately ...self knowledge is the key

There's a tv programme here in the UK called secret eaters. For the people on there, they are determined that they shouldn't be gaining weight and that their gains are a complete mystery until theyre followed by private detectives.
Whilst it's a bit of a daft programme, it goes to show how many people are adamant that they don't over eat and that their weight shouldn't be rising.

Op like others have stated, nobody here is trying to make you cry. People don't gain weight magically. You have only logged breakfast today and other then that, your log is empty. Your not weighing your foods properly, because 0.6 of a sausage patty isn't the correct way to enter how much sausage you've eaten. Weigh things on a scale, in grams.
If you truly believe that your gaining all this weight without eating at a surplus, then you need to find a specialist to help you and access your medical situation. But just know that they'll also ask you to weigh all your foods and log them so they can see how much you consume. So either way, you need to start weighing foods and logging correctly if you want to pursue this.

OP. go and see a doctor asap. This is not the place as most people will tell you the same thing. If you truly are not eating at all ( or barely anything ) and are gaing weight it's something wrong.0

If you want to succeed at losing weight you have to be honest with yourself about what you are eating in the first place. I log everything even on days when I've gone completely off track and eaten double my goal (like this last week!). It's the only way.

I don't know my fitness pal app doesn't show a spot where I can log food in ounces. So I really just log how it offers. I stopped taking my medicine because I was just borderline hypothyroidism and it was causing cystic acne. I'm supposed to be retested soon to see where my thyroid is at after being off the medicine for three months.0 -
I don't thinks it's possible to never eat and gain weight. But if it is , go get your thyroid checked maybe? And cortisol levels? And vitamins maybe your lacking something or have too much of something that could be helped with medicine. Or maybe it is some type of eating disorder ( no 0ffense at all) the body needs food to have a metabolism maybe not eating slows your metabolism and your body goes into starvation mode so when you do eat it does stuff to multiply the fat etc to help it's self. Like for most people (me anyways) when I go on a diet I can lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks but the minute I go off I can gain that 10 back in 1 week. Maybe your body is in that mode everyday!! Hood it helps no judgment here0

i have entrees that it only shows ounces while i weigh in grams i have to convert that and 61 gram is than 2.15 ounce etc
besides that you can make yuor own entrees
And medicine or any medical issues is not an excuse for not losing weight
it can slow it down yes
but not losing is only when you eat too much calories
Really thighten up your logging and be accurate
IN the beginning its a bit of a hassle But sit down in the evening and prelog the next day. Take your time and search the right entrees or make the ones you need
After some time it only takes you 3 minutes a day to plan and do it right0 -
and btw with logging everything, i mean EVERYTHING
So you weigh also butter, sauces, etc
Everything that has calories
And liquids like milk you can use cups for
So only water has no calories!
And dont believe the serving sizes on the labels they are most of the time wayyyyy off

Honestly, if the thought of food makes you want to puke, you need a therapist. You don't have to be skinny to have an eating disorder and your posts about your reaction to food are really troubling. You need to take care of your mental health as much as your physical health.0

Medical conditions do change things, which means you have to work harder to find your calorie deficit. It's important to let your doctor in on all things you are doing regarding your thyroid and diet, etc. Maybe your doctor can refer you to a registered dietitian specializing in thyroid disorders.
As for logging: I read a lot of packages and research at the USDA website to obtain accurate calories for foods, and then I enter them in My Foods database using grams. That way, I can weigh everything possible in grams for accuracy. I do with 99% of the foods I eat.
Also, I see you put in over 800 calories today for 50 minutes of cardio. Where did you get those cardio numbers from? I ask because that number seems high for the time you exercised. If your food calories are underestimated, and your exercise calories are overestimated, then that can kill or lessen a calorie deficit by quite a bit. I suggest eating half or less of those calories back.
Also, be sure you weigh every single thing you eat, including pre-packaged foods, those 100 calorie packs (which generally weigh more than what's on the package, so they're not really 100 calorie packs), and strive to accurately log everything. This will also help you to find your calorie base sweet spot, if you will, and get you back on track.

To me, that seems like an awful lot of weight to lose in six weeks--over 2 pounds a week. My mother would have freaked out at that.0 -

Well according to all my doctors not eating enough calories will cause you to gain weight. But I guess cause you said so they are all wrong. I walk up to 15 miles a day waitreessing maybe on a good day lll eat dinner. I have been barely eating 600 calories a day. I burn triple what I eat. Yes the thought of eating makes me sick I have been to therapist most of my life. As for logging: I read a lot of packages and research at the USDA website to obtain accurate calories for foods, and then I enter them in My Foods database using grams. That way, I can weigh everything possible in grams for accuracy. I do with 99% of the foods I eat.
Also, I see you put in over 800 calories today for 50 minutes of cardio. Where did you get those cardio numbers from? I ask because that number seems high for the time you exercised. If your food calories are underestimated, and your exercise calories are overestimated, then that can kill or lessen a calorie deficit by quite a bit. I suggest eating half or less of those calories back.
Also, be sure you weigh every single thing you eat, including pre-packaged foods, those 100 calorie packs (which generally weigh more than what's on the package, so they're not really 100 calorie packs), and strive to accurately log everything. This will also help you to find your calorie base sweet spot, if you will, and get you back on track.

I'm sorry you feel attacked, but you truly haven't been. Ppl are just trying to show you how it is and for whatever reason, you don't seem to want to hear it.
I was on medicine for my thyroid but I stopped taking it someone else asked me that. I am on Wellbutrin and anxiety medicine. I weighed the sausage a whole one weighed .08 ounces I only ate half so I really don't know how to log it since it doesn't show a weigh go log food via ounces.

I don't know my fitness pal app doesn't show a spot where I can log food in ounces. So I really just log how it offers. I stopped taking my medicine because I was just borderline hypothyroidism and it was causing cystic acne. I'm supposed to be retested soon to see where my thyroid is at after being off the medicine for three months.

Medical conditions do change things, which means you have to work harder to find your calorie deficit. It's important to let your doctor in on all things you are doing regarding your thyroid and diet, etc. Maybe your doctor can refer you to a registered dietitian specializing in thyroid disorders.
