That as you lose weight you'll have to re-figure out how to do things you've always done. For example, the nuances of how you place your feet as you walk because you don't have as much thigh mass, the position you shave your legs in, the way you sit in a chair so your legs are lady like, the way you sit in your seat while driving- all of a sudden one day these things may feel strange and you'll find yourself concisely thinking about how to "do" them.
For me, I had an experience of this over the weekend. I'm a potter (a hobby gone wild) and the position I've used for years at the wheel felt suddenly strangely uncomfortable. No more big belly to lean against and the reduced fat in my arms and thighs (where one puts their elbows to gain maximum control over the clay) was lower in height and more unstable. I could feel the muscles / tendons roll under the motion, something I've never felt. It made for a frustrating day as I tried to adjust since the "roll" impacted the shaping of the pot. There are plenty of thin potters out there- so with more practice it will be better, but I wouldn't have expected to need to make such an adjustment.21 -
I was cold last night and I put my hands between my thighs to warm them, to my disappointment I didn't find much warmth there either. I think I'm starting to form a gap, I am both happy, because wearing skirts and dresses will be easier, but sad because of this cold. I wonder if I will survive next winter lol.10

I had to buy a complete set of new underwear. Nothing fit. I went from a 41" waist to a 32.5" waist. I have had suits tailored to fit my new body. A good chunk of people at my gym stare at me. People, who I went to school with, do not recognize me.

On a serious note: I was raised in a family very focused on food. Especially at parties. The more you ate of what people brought, the more it seemed to show you loved them. this journey has made me realize that social events like birthday parties, times at restaurants, graduations etc... Don't have to be about what food I eat but instead they are about the people that I am with. I don't have to try everything at a pot luck meal-- I'm not going to remember what I ate in the long run. I'm going to remember the people I spent time with. This has been revolutionary in my life and has given me freedom to eat before events if need be to stay on track, to bring something completely healthy so I know I have something I can eat, or to even bring something just for me.
On a physical note:
-- after a 26 pound loss And 3 months of regular exercise (mostly walking!), I love seeing muscles beginning to define in my upper arms and legs.
-- my arms no longer hit any part of my body when they are swinging.
--I crave exercise for both my body that seems to want to move now, and for my mind that enjoys the alone time.
-- when completing an exercise goal, I realized it feels infinitely better than any food ever made me feel.11 -
Seeing yourself in a mirror in a public place is suddenly surprisingly ok! At a baseball game this weekend, and went to the restroom and what I saw in the mirror was so much better than it used to be. Sometimes, I'm not sure who it is, but so glad that I'm not horrified or depressed at catching a glimpse of my image!!6

I've noticed that many foods taste better because I'm no longer inhaling my plate to get another one. When you know one of something is enough you take time to eat it.9 -
That I'd learn to love cooking.

That I'd get so used to exercise that I now have trouble sitting for long periods of time in one spot.5 -
From friends/family losing weight:
- how some people seemingly can't accept that you've reached a certain weight/size and keep it that way for months and years and keep saying that you've lost weight again. (and how that can feel like insinuating and insults pretty soon)
- how people get all concerned at a certain point when you're reasonably losing weight, by getting back to being more active and watching what you're eating, and are short of staging an intervention. (a friend talked to me about a mutual friend and it hurt me deeply as well)
Myself:
- there's that moment when large rolls split into several smaller rolls on your belly et al and you'll feel bigger than ever because "a few smaller rolls can't be less than a big one, right?"
- hormonal (mood) swings are getting worse (because of the difference getting bigger): I don’t get what others describe as PMS, but the last few days of my cycle my energy levels drop significantly, I need more sleep (up to 12 hours a night), my mood plummets a great deal, water retention/oedema is the worst. I get into a real funk (because it’s so different from my active self) and I feel like the last weeks (and last cycle) didn’t happen at all and that, despite being motivated to do something, I'll never get up and actually do something (although I still get off my *kitten* and do something) - until I recover around day five.
- how much of an impact my surroundings would have on my eating habits: For a while I thought I was being more accountable at my mother’s place than at my own flat but so far staying at a “dorm” for my new job has helped me to eat better (apart from a few days of period ’splurging’ - which I don’t/won't to quit because I believe in listening to my body and it clearly screams for easy calories on those days) and exercise regularly; somehow vacations are also 'naturally structured' and 'healthy time' for me.
- I won’t get anywhere without a purpose in life: back in "school" (=university) when I had weeks of just studying and time on my hands I didn’t have much incentive to work out, now with my job I'm more structured about my health as well and on a weekend I might even work out twice (go for a run despite the long walk).
- sometimes habits will have you coming back for things, even if they make you feel (physically) horrible: over the last few years I've developed an "intolerance" to high-carb foods (all grains including rice and corn as well as potatoes and candy - and of lately alcohol) and I'll still find myself eating sushi or pizza (or have a glass of wine) despite the headaches it'll give me an hour later.1 -
Now that I've lost 90 pounds, with 80 still to go it's like having a double body. I feel the muscle and bone structure underneath the fat. I can grab fat and skin and feel where when I finish losing weight my body might be. My fat just seems to jiggle more now, but I can feel the muscle underneath. Does anyone else feel this?8

Yes! I've lost 50 with about 20 to go, and it seems my previously relatively firm fat is all loose and flabby. My butt and thighs are more lumpy and cottage-cheesey than they were 50 pounds ago. I keep reassuring myself that this indicates I am making progress, but it's upsetting.3 -

THIS! I cannot stand when people look at my grilled chicken, sweet potato, steamed vegetables and small salad and say "I don't know how you eat that much and still lose weight. I only eat once a day."
Hello! I just went to the gym and burned 800 calories!! I need fuel. Healthy weight loss and unhealthy weight loss are two different things. One will last, one will not. I feel like they are making a mockery out of what I am trying to do.
And cold...yes, I am freaking cold all the time. But I love being able to cross my legs and feel comfortable!11 -

Yes, I was firm before, but now I feel like I have a loose fat suit on. Especially when I run, my skin bounces up and down so much more than it ever did!3 -

Yes, I've been sleeping terribly for weeks now, and it just occurred to me that I'm sleeping less half on my side + half on my stomach - I don't have the fat there to keep me propped up. So I've been sleeping more on my side, but that isn't comfortable either! I went and got a new pillow today for 'side-sleepers' so we'll see if it helps! Never expected to have to buy a new pillow for weight loss....5 -

Trying on the next size down jeans and they actually fit! Or trying on a shirt I haven't worn for months and realizing how much looser it is.
Inspiring other friends/family to get moving, I never thought of myself as "inspiring" but now a lot of my friends/family have started biking and eating right and saying it was because of me. That helps keep me motivated to reach my goals.
Frustrating looking in the mirror and not seeing changes. Especially on a bad weigh in day, the mind is a powerful thing.

How many selfies you'll take.... I usually hate taking selfies... but now I'm glad I've taken a couple through my weight loss journey so I can really see a difference even if the scale doesn't reflect that... I'm definitely taking more now that I'm enjoying my body more...3

No one tells you that you will get buzzed so much faster... (65 pounds ago it took three or four drinks to get buzzed. Now it takes like 1 1/2.)8

I know what it is to try a whole bunch of things and nothing works. I have given up on my psoriasis. My doctor thinks it might start to go away if I lose more weight. Though, I myself don't hold out much hope for that, I admit, I have a teeny bit. But if it doesn't work, then I wont be terribly disappointed.
The rash itself if mild, but it covers about 60-70% of my body.
ETA: My mom thinks it might be a weird form of 'reverse vitiligo' because it is darker than my normal skin tone. Only slightly flaky and it only REALLY itches if I have dairy products, which I actively avoid(I MISS YOU CHEESE!!!!).
Psoriasis would be so frustrating! I had a friend when I was a kid who had it and steroids seemed to work for her. They thought my face might clear up once I lost weight, but 70lbs later it's just gotten worse so the doctor was so confused.
Re: psoriasis...I have had psoriasis since I was in my mid-teens (thankfully just smallish patches here and there, not large rashes) but last month I decided to go sugar and sweetener free for one month just as a personal challenge, and within a week my spots were almost completely cleared up! I was totally amazed and it was totally unexpected. Maybe worth a try to see if it would help you any?
Re: acne/rosacea, have you ever heard of or tried Arbonne products? I am blessed to have very good skin, so I only use one or two of their products, but I have personally witnessed my BFF go from red, raw skin all the time (acne and rosacea all her life) to beautiful clear skin. She fell so in love with the product that she started selling it herself. It really is fantastic stuff, 100% natural, no fragrance, etc. Maybe check it out?2 -

I don't necessarily need to wear tight fitting clothes to show off my new body. Some loose blouse or shirts actually looks very "kawaii" or even sexy instead of frumpy on me.3

That there are some bathroom stalls that no matter how much you lose, you will STILL have to straddle the toilet to get the door shut because they are just too small.
