Raelynn seems to be feeling better, she woke up from her nap and asked for McDonald's for dinner. Idk if she was just so bothered by her daddy being gone it made her ill or if it was something else. I'm still keeping an eye on her, hopefully she won't get sick again. Thanks to everyone that sent well wishes!

Speaking of McDonald's, I just scarfed down a double quarter pounder w/cheese and fries. It was good, but not good enough to justify how crappy I feel now. :unamused:

I wonder why this thread is so hard to find suddenly!!

I am leaving for work now and hoping today is a good day!

    Yesterday sucked!

I got lost running an errand for my son (he got his grad hoodie for next year Monday and his name was spelled wrong, so had to find the uniform shop and get it fixed).....then we realized his bike was stolen, he just recently bought it and it is his transportation to and from work, so he had to walk yesterday, and today. Then I missed my gym time because as I was heading there, the office staff at my building called me and told me another bike had been stolen and asked me to see if I could come and view the video....that took a while and we saw nothing actually.

I feel bad for my son :(

Work is stressful right now too, kind of a long story, but we had a new girl that only worked about two months and now is off sick for an 'undetermented' amount of time, so they are replacing her and her husband came in Monday while I was there and freaked out on my boss....I do not generally work on Tuesdays but my boss text me and said this is becoming a bit of a nightmare. I have known her husband for years and now things are awkward, and I got her the job for him......my boss is cool, she knows I could not have known, but the whole situation is just sucky and stressful.

Plus I am still not really speaking to my SO still, we are on week two.....so that just adds to the stress.

I am not going to let it ruin tonight though! Tonight is the only night in a long while that I will be home alone. My daughter is out of town visiting a friend and my son is working. My daughter keeps getting straight day shifts, which is strange for a 19 year old working at tourist attractions that are open all night...and she is a new hire....over all it is great because she can rely on the bus which is obviously much cheaper than cabs etc, but it is seriously cutting into my alone time that over the last year I have gotten very used to! A year ago I never had alone time, but now I love it, lol.

So, tonight, I am going to indulge in a chicken bacon alfredo pizza from domino's and watch Big Brother! I figure I have about five hours of alone time after work before my son gets home....so I am gonna get everything done I need to do right away and then sit on the sofa and just bask in my aloneness lol.

Today is my day off logging so I am not worried about such things tonight, I am gonna eat super light during the day, just a light lunch and already did not eat much breakfast, but tonight I will eat pizza and my favorite Haagan Dazs chocolate peanut butter ice cream.....I am not even gonna have my phone on!

P.S. BB people, I am gonna go start the thread now, so don't forget to check there later!!

    Have a great day everyone!

@Italian_Buju Sorry things are not great for you right but yay for getting alone time!! I hear it's a wonderful thing ;) I was also meaning to ask you how are you doing health wise? I remember you had a rough couple days last week

I will be watching for your BB thread! So excited!!

I am doing alright, thanks for asking! My health in general has just always kinda sucked. But there was just one day last week I ate an unbalanced breakfast and felt sick the rest of the day so that made me pissy. In general, I just have to be super on top of things, and make sure like I am well rested, eat properly, stay active and take all my daily meds and go to a million appts.....as long as I do all that, I can keep things -contained- for now anyway.

I got home at 4:30 from work, cleaned up and then I am not sure where most of the other time went, lol. It is almost 8pm now and I am just preheating the oven to warm up my pizza. I did have to waste an hour of my alone time napping, cuz I was so tired I was literally on this thread trying to read and doing the head bob, but I set my alarm for one hour so I would not waste my whole night!

Almost Big Brother time! Whoop whoop!

Just dropping by to say that there's a german word that means the extra weight gained from emotional eating, and it literally means "grief bacon." I love german.

I think that's possibly the most appropriate translation of a phrase I've ever heard haha

@KrisiAnnH, good luck on the job interview and I LOVE your hair color!

@MoHousdon that is one awesome truck - thanks for the pictures!

I think this every time she posts. Thanks for saying it for me.

You're welcome for the pictures. It is a pretty sweet ride.

Aww thank you so much that's made my day! :) It's faded a bit now but I'm dying it brighter in the hopes I stand out in the interview and they'll remember me ;) haha

@kelly_c_77 @spacequiztime @Tubbs216 @LBuehrle8 Awh thanks everyone! Haven't had a job interview in about a year, but I'm going to keep thinking of this thread and the super great shark while I'm there to get rid of nerves, haha
 @lbuehler89 And only a few months to go!

My only experience with unfrosted Pop Tarts comes from when I was younger. Frosted strawberry was the only flavor she'd buy because the others were too "unhealthy". Her restrictions completely turned me off strawberry Pop Tarts all together. I do want to try brown sugar cinnamon though.

I don't think I'm having any issues with the thread.

I really wish we had pop tarts over here in the UK! I mean we have the standard strawberry and chocolate I think, but because I live in an area that is about 20 years behind the rest of the country they're pretty hard to come by haha. Brown sugar cinnamon sounds so good!

We have the cinnamon & brown sugar in Oman, but not in Saudi. It's amazing. Probably my favorite flavor! I haven't tasted a huge amount of flavors myself, though--we only get untrusted strawberry and unfrosted blueberry here in Saudi, and about five or six different flavors in Oman. :)

I don't trust them if they don't have frosting either. They're hiding something. ;)

Glad I convinced you to try the MB apple cinnamon ones but they are unfrosted! They are covered in cinnamon sugar if that helps...?

Well, I don't actually have to trust them to eat them! I just have to make sure to stare at them suspiciously as I chew bits off. :p

Beat off at work bathroom to thoughts of new reception girl

I think it's funny that you say this, but on your page your inspirations are

    > Intimidating the boys coming around for my daughters
    > To be the best example to my son that I can be

that new reception girl is someones daughter too y'know, and I'm not sure that is a good example of being a man now is it?

I confess: I am judging you for judging that post...BUT his friends list consists almost entirely of attractive females with their make-up covered faces and body parts exposed....I smell a misogynist.

I normally skip past those posts, but that made me a little sick in my mouth and had to see what kind of creep we are dealing with. Turns out to be a hypocritical one. So I felt a little urge to publicly shame him. Judge all you want, if I found out a man did that at my place of work or that new receptionist was my {hypothetical} daughter, he would be one testicle missing.

Edited because men are men, whatever, but don't make it public, I don't want that visual thanks

Edit again because: Why are you judging me for judging that? (out of curiosity, not picking a fight), it's disgusting and offensive.

Because it's supposed to be a 'NO JUDGEMENT' thread. /irony

The fact is, I totally agree with you and you were right to call him on his bullsmurf. Imagine if the woman herself found out about his 'fantasizing'. Life is NOT a porno, she would likely be horribly offended and never want to work near you again, dude.
It also definitely had the air of a confession that was merely posted to try and stir stuff up.
Men ARE men but, in my opinion, grown men don't 'beat off' to the new receptionist while at work. They should wait until they get home for that kind of thing. Do WORK at work. Or...post on a forum about the crappy way you've been eating lately and how you have skipped workouts and how you are posting things at work when you really should be working(I am guilty of all these things).

Also, I noted in my post that he was likely a misogynistic hypocrite based on his friends list, which, I confess, was also me judging him.

TL;DR: I wasn't ACTUALLY judging you. I was agreeing with you and then confessing my own judgement of 'Yeah, this dude is a misogynistic hypocrite who should keep his self love schedule to himself'.

ETA: Some things just come across poorly in textual format. Or maybe I am slightly terrible at expressing myself in the way I actually intend... :disappointed:

I also think he's the same man who had the sleeping girlfriend.

    I think so too.

Can we just cancel today? :unamused:
As I've mentioned, hubby is out of town, and now just so happens to be the perfect time for Raelynn to get sick. As in, puking all over the bathroom and kitchen sick. She refuses to eat, just wants water, and is currently lying down in her bed watching a movie as that's all she wants to do. Not to mention, the actual act of vomiting was enough to trigger one of her daily multiple anxiety attacks. Needless to say, at this point neither one of us is concerned at all about eating and not really doing much of anything else either. :frowning:

Aww; hopefully Raelynn is feeling better soon:(.

I have never had a Pop Tart.

    They sound...not delicious.

I had them a couple times when I was younger and wasn't impressed. People in this thread have raved about them! Keep telling myself how dry and tasteless they were so I won't buy any!

Considering the heat of the summers in Oman, when I was a kid we used to buy them and leave the foil packets on the dashboard of the car on the way home. Then they were all warm and soft and melty... Mmm. I can definitely think of better desserts, but I still love poptarts!

@pofoster21 It's all so pretty! We just live in a rented apartment, so I have to live with the terrible plastic cupboards and nasty uneven counters. I don't mind it, though--as tiny as it is, it's the best kitchen I've had in a long time, and best of all, it's ALL MINE. ;)

We rent too, and my kitchen is...something. It's a shame, because it's got high-end, stainless, new Samsung appliances and is very, very modern, but it is NOT MY STYLE AT ALL. We have shiny red cupboards, stainless steel backsplash, stark white countertops and tile floor and bright white nuclear holocaust lighting, and it's just the opposite of what I would have chosen (anything but that fingerprint-y awful stainless...whites and pale blues and light woods, maybe with some navy and red accents, nothing lacquered and nothing stark.)

Objectively it is a stylish kitchen but I hate it a lot. And we have a tiny highrise apartment so it's a narrow galley kitchen too and I would give my right toes for decent counter space and more storage.

Your kitchen sounds like mine! Tasteless and ugly. ;) I do have all those shiny Samsung appliances (they didn't come with the apartment though, we bought those ourselves), but there's VERY little kitchen space, no air conditioner (you would only know how torturous this is if you lived in the Gulf. My kitchen settles at 30C/86F in the early afternoon), and there's hardly even space to turn around. The cabinets are shiny and plastic and cheap, and half of the doors were already broken when we moved in because they weren't installed properly.

I still love it though, because I enjoy cooking and baking and my kitchen is my haven for making all kinds of stuff. When I visit family I miss having my cozy little kitchen with all of my dishes and spices and such, knowing where everything is, having everything you need on hand, etc. It's just so nice to have your own place, even when it isn't perfect! :)

I wish there was a machine that Rosie had on the Jetsons that popped out whatever food item you wanted. Oh you want a hot fudge sundae well here you go. Pizza with whatever toppings you want? Flies right out & lands on a plate.
I would stand in front of it and say "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot."

    "Fries. Extra crispy. No calories."

    This. On every food.

ETA: On second thought - I would like to change the "no calories" to "exact macros." No matter what I order in the day, cherry cheesecake, bacon cheeseburger, and tater tots, I want it to exactly hit my calories and macros for the day.

Your ETA just stated the perfect thing that I have always wanted, but never realized that I wanted it till now.

    LOL

When I bike in to work, I'm in my work clothes. It's mostly downhill, so I don't get all sweaty in the mornings.

I bike about 7 miles, and then take light rail the rest of the way. When you load your bike on light rail, you have to stand with your bike at either end of the car; 2 bikes max per end.

When you board with a bike & there is someone else there with a bike, you do your best to keep your bike away from the other person, so your tires don't rub against their legs/pants. (It's a kind of bike commuter etiquette thing.)

When newbs climb aboard, flailing their bike up the stairs, they are completely oblivious to everyone else & inevitably will rub their tires against you, unless you ward them off with your feet. Bike tire grime is about equivalent to engine compartment grime - black & impossible to wipe off.

After work I change into shorts & a tank, so I can get my sweat on cranking up the hills.

I know it sounds bizarre...welcome to my world!

I know it sounds bizarre...welcome to my world!

That is way more tame than I was imagining, but it still stinks. I kept picturing someone reaching their tire forward and rubbing it down your leg all while staring at you with the whites of their eyes entirely exposed.
