No news on the appraisal yet. We did get a call from our realtor changing our closing date for our house to the same day as our new house. That will save us 4 nights in a hotel. That would have costed $500, so score!

MNMargaret- beautiful furniture! I can see why you love the desk.

    Have a good night everyone!

    Hi Everyone,

Patceoh The pictures of the lilies look beautiful.

    Stormlover33 Welcome to the group.

Vickil57 glad you're felling better. Each day is a new beginning.

I'm trying to move into a summer mode of working 3-4 days a week. On Sunday I am working w/a longtime friend while giving a presentation. DH has been working hard to get the cottage ready for us to move for the summer. He also has been trying to work around my schedule so we have some time together.

I've increased the resistance on the elliptical so I can only do 15 min at a time again. It does feel like a step backward but I know when I started I would not be able to do 5 at this level. I need to focus on the positive.

I've watched movies that Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and John Belusi were in ... I 'think' it was a movie that one or the other or both of them were in. I just can't remember, just the scene - no faces.

I just mentioned them. chevy chase and bill murray were in caddyshack w/the floating baby ruth
john belushi was in animal house

Thanks for setting me straight on the movies. Now I will remember the movie. Our DGD have started us on the Tyler Perry shows with Medea - laughed so hard at the last one we saw I had tears in my eyes.

at least you didn't fart or pee'd your pants or snorted! or did u

CLOSE, but no 'cigar' [no pun intended] . . . but we paused it several times to run to the bathroom. Now back to reading. Changing authors after this one. I've been reading Sue Grafton's A, B, C, novels ... now I need a rest. I think I have read all of James Patterson's books. I like murder mysteries - favorite kind of book and movie.

HI all. It’s not even 9 and I already have over 9,000 steps and got 65 minutes of exercise today. The gardeners came out and planted another 20 or so plants, I did the grocery shopping, then went back to the kitchen/bath place. I left so frustrated I may not even continue the kitchen remodeling.
Tomorrow we are leaving early to take DD#2 to college for freshman registration day. Woo hoo! She’s so excited but nervous and fearful at the same time.

Michele: I can never drink in water aerobics or I’d be out of the pool every 10 minutes! :O

Mary: it’s too hot to walk probably 2 weeks of the year. I often walk the “long walk” which is about a mile in the evening if that’s my exercise for the day. For my 10 minute walks, I’d rather just go downstairs to the treadmill. I really should go with DH and benny beagle because they often encounter a flock of evil geese and I’d love to see them harassing the dog!

Joyce: I did not meet my “current’ husband the normal way. I was a trauma nurse and when I met him he was a security officer in the hospital. I was pumping some guy’s stomach and he was fighting me, so DH came over to “help” and turned green immediately and started gagging more that the other guy was. I said “Who the hell are you”? He says “I’m Leonard”. And I said “Leonard you look like sh** so get the hell out of my ED!”. How romantic! It’s been bliss ever since LOL

Beth: the way it’s going I think at birth children will be implanted with a statin pump!

    Pip: snazzy nails! Have fun!

Lots of great pics on here! Thanks everyone for posting. Well the time is short and I have some chores to do, so I’ll see you tomorrow after the road trip! Take care, Meg from omaha

Did an hour of Lesley Sansone's Burn Body fat DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to go to the deep water class. Actually, since she's so slow, I might go early, do my own thing, and then maybe join in the class at the end.

Welcome everyone new. You CAN do this, and we'll be with you all the way.

Vince left for the dentist to get his permanent crown on. Amanda, Andy and Aiden just left. They are planning to go into Hickory and then leave for MD from there. I asked them to call when they got home just so I know that if I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I know they aren't dead in a ditch somewhere. I don't know, it's a "mom" thing.

    Joyce
    - I don't think I would want to be called "Grannie". To me, that sounds like such an old-lady name. I was hesitant as I started reading your "Windows" saga. Unfortunately, my hesitation was not unfounded. Boy, if one of those PC guys were to call here, would Vince ever have a field day!!!!

Right now I'm washing the pillowcases that Amanda and Andy used. I don't think they pulled down the sheets, the beds were still made. They wouldn't have been made that perfectly. So I'm just going to wash the pllowcases.

    Carol/peach
    - how wonderful that hubby got into MFP too

    Lisa
    - I guess I'm just thick or dumb or whatever, but I didn't think you were starting a flame war. Maybe I just am good at overlooking things. How wonderful of you to take those children and give them such love

I want to reiterate a scam that Vince was telling me about. To be honest, if he hadn't told me about it, I probably would have fallen for it. A person will call you and say that there's been suspicious activity on your credit card. They'll have the credit card number and all. Then, they tell you that in order to take these charges off your bill, they'll need your 3 digit security number. Well, that's the one piece of info they don't have and need. As soon as they get it, you can be sure as shootin there will be lots and lots of charges to your card. Many people will think "oh, this must be OK since they they have my number", but they don't have and need that 3 digit security code. So if someone asks you for it, don't fall for it!

Have a reception for the volunteers at the Green Woom to go to tonight. It's supposed to be only desserts. I'm planning to take some baby carrots with me, maybe an apple and clementine. That's my kind of dessert, not cookies or brownies or cupcakes.

As expected, the Wii showed a gain today. Well, we didn't have dinner until almost 8p.m. I really don't like eating that late. I was so so hungry that I actually had a 6" at Subway. Normally, all that bread just doesn't sit well with me, but it also filled me up. Normally, I'd rather have a salad, but I really wanted something that would fill me up. Well, they've left, now back to my regular routine.

Mary from MN - I expect to be in the pool, so I'll be sending you all my best thoughts and prayers Update: sent them from the pool. Let us know how everything went. wonderful that you can close on the same day for both houses. Now for the appraisal news

    Lenora
    - loved the things that don't go together

Carol in NC - good luck tomorrow. Come in when you can. "share dirty little secrets"....are you listening Poop????? :)

mia - I'm so sorry about your dad. But it's a good thing you had him as long as you did. You make two different meals, too? I'm getting good at that. You dh won't eat ANY veggies? Mine will only eat carrots, corn, white potatoes (heaven forbid it be a sweet potato), celery (but he hasn't in quite a while), lettuce (the only kind I ever give him is Romaine), coleslaw. That's IT

suerontur - I admit, sometimes I feel like no one reads my posts. For a while there I decided to change up (my exercise) and I didn't take the extremepump class. Not one person mentioned it. But then there are times when someone makes a comment and I realize that sometimes someone really does read my post. Some of the posts are long and that might intimidate some people, especially when someone is in a rush. But I also find it really nice to get things off my chest. There are so many factors that go into why we eat what we do, stress, anxiety, etc. Sometimes sharing it with someone gives us a good idea of how to cope. There are times when the answer to something is right in front of us and we don't see it unless someone brings it to our attention.

chris - good for you getting your meds cut! That feels really good, I'm sure. And that weight loss! Good for you getting up early. How long will your friend be gone? Remember I told you about the bathing suit I got for $13? Well, I just noticed the other day that evidentally at one spot the lining didn't get sewed in fully. Oh well...you really can't notice. And it's not like I wear it anywhere else but at home. Good for you on your weight loss! What lovely flowers! What kind are they?

Tomorrow's deep water class I'm going to go to early and then do my thing. I'll download a workout from Turnstep.com, we have this acrylic picture holder that I'll put it in and then put the holder into a plastic bag. I can't explain it...it's just me. But I need to have a workout all written out. I just can't do something on the fly. That's just not me. If I needed to do it on the fly, I know that I'd wind up doing something easy, and I want to push myself.

Beth - your talking about this club being like a pub put in my head that song the Cheers theme

Becca - you go girl with that swimming!

DeeDee - after taking things to Goodwill, just think of the room you'll have for new things!

bkrimpet - we're so glad that you're here

We had a reception for the volunteeers for the Green Room. It was all desserts and I know that Vince wanted to go. Really, it wouldn't have bothered me if we didn't go. I did have my carrots, an apple, and a clementine with me. But I caved in and had 4 cookies, a SMALL brownie bite, a SMALL bit of cheesecake, a SMALL cupcake (I didn't know that's what it was), but just had water to drink. Now in a way I wish we hadn't gone.

Hi Ladies, Day 5 of 1200 cals a day. Ok, today I splurged with 1310. Wow, is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that 1200 is NOT MUCH FOOD?! Whatcha eatin'? I travel a lot for work, and I'm telling you, any minute now, I'm gonna turn into a footlong veggie sub. Some ideas please about how to stick to the low cals MFP suggests. Easy at home, not so much on the road.

The first thing that helped me was to log all my food and analyze where the bigger calorie amounts were coming from and eliminate those things in favor of others. I found out that bread, salad dressings, sauces, and desserts had lots of calories with not too much actual food to eat. You mentioned veggie subs....a salad with a hard boiled egg and no bread or dressing would be fewer calories. It takes time to figure out good substitutions. Take it one day at a time and be open to new ideas. Also being more active will allow you to eat a bit more.

    :) Barbie

Now most restaurants have a 'lite' menu; and I think a lot more are beginning to post calories, and the breakdown of their foods. When I know that something special is coming up, like taking our DGD out to the Mexican Restaurant; I will see what I can eat at that meal. Right now, to lose weight I am on a Medical Weight Loss plan because the many medications I take for various reasons which puts on the weight. I got up to 199lbs and cried because it looked like I would forever be putting on 12-18lbs a year and I knew I had to do something. I even gained weight doing WWs; so my MD basically told me this was going to be the only way for me to lose and get some of my things like my BP and cholesterol numbers down (and maybe off the BP meds). I can't take anything to lower my cholesterol because I am either allergic to it or it interferes with my other medications, such as my seizure meds. That I definitely do NOT want to mess with, they are now controlled.

Lemon Juice is a good way to put a little flavor into a salad with no dressing.

Meg ... love your "romantic" story! Lol!

I had a large glass of crystal light tea with dinner .... haven't had anything with aspartame in the house for months because of son and his migraines! Oh my .... I can't drink it anymore! Raging headache within a half hour! Stomach cramped!?!

Son and husband are gone for the evening and I'm enjoying a quiet house. Son is having a sleep study and dad is staying with him. Son has not been able to stick with MFP and weight is getting higher. He's been referred to an obesity management doctor ... what kind of classification is that??? :.. we don't want to manage it ... he wants to lose it. I suspect they're going to suggest something like meal replacement ... which I don't really agree with ... but he's desperate and his weight is too high for a 17yr old ... too high for anyone really. This is probably his biggest migraine/anxiety/depression trigger ... so we'll see what they have to say... the sleep study was ordered because he no longer sleeps at night and ticked off the boxes for suspected sleep apnea. Weight, of course, being one of the boxes.

Carol good luck with surgery tomorrow.

Pat gorgeous flowers. they are one of my favorite things.

Mary hopefully it will be done soon. I know this is a stressful time for you.

Furniture arrived. Unfortunately there was some damage. I paid for padded treatment and they wrapped it in bubble wrap. The damage can be repaired. The pieces were not in mint condition even so they are valuable to me for sentimental reasons. The one piece is definitely shabby chic. An antique yellow painted desk where the paint is beat up. DH couldn't quite understand why I wanted it.

The spindle on the wooden desk was broken. Fortunately I could fit the broken part in the slot that was there. On the yellow desk the break was clean so i was able to glue the piece back on.

You need to click on the pictures below. For some reason it did not post the whole picture like it usually does.

Margaret, I love the furniture. I'd have my entire house done in antiques if it were up to me. Jack is more contemporary, so when we consolidated our homes I sent the majority of my stuff home with my kids an d grandkids. Truly missed it at first. Where are you standing in your profile picture. I love it. It looks like a solarium. Thanks for sharing your pics with us.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .

    Good Evening Ladies,

Heather, I knew you would have a blast with the grands and glad to hear that you did. I love the picture of DH and the kids!!! I always enjoy hearing about your train rides, too.

Renny, thanks for the info. Not to be too nosey, but what made you move to Canada? I’m sure you both miss your families.

Poop, we know you are here for our amusement and sure do appreciate it/you.smiley-love014.gif

Carol NC, sending you healing thoughts and prayers. I know what it is like to be in constant pain and It Ain’t Fun! Get better soon. ((((Hugs))))

Sylvia, that is wonderful that you found a walking buddy. Enjoy those walks together while burning calories. And no more trying to knock out your DGD. (I know that made you feel terrible, even though it wasn’t your fault.)

Janetr, you said what is true for me and exercise. “I dislike exercising. Although my body and I have noticed and do appreciate the benefits of the exercise.” Why can’t something so good for me, just be lots of fun and enjoyable??? **whine**

Renny, you might be out of shape but golly gee, I’m impressed at the riding and yoga-ing and everything you are doing. Keep it up! And once you are back to work, just stop in and tell us what’s going on with you, even if you don’t have time to read any of the diaries.

Michele, now I do remember reading about the hair dryer, because the first thing I thought of was when I had hives really bad. Heat is not a friend of hives and would only make the itching worse. When I would take a shower, I’d use the water at a Luke warm temperature and then do a cool down with getting the water as cold as I could stand it. Glad it helped your bite itching. About the float the lady wants to give you, my DH would say “Never turn down a generous impulse”. But I know what you mean. I hate that your guests were stressing you out so much. Glad they weren’t staying any longer.

Crazybee, welcome. If you really want to lose some weight, Id suggests doing what exercise you can, but concentrate on logging your food. It is really easy with MFP and is the way to start seeing what you are eating and the calories, sugar, etc that are in those foods. I am type II diabetic, and since I started on MFP I have been able to cut my Metformin in half. This is a very supportive group so I hope you come often.

Joyce, yo, you are too hip to be phat.  When my brother had the first grandchildren, my mother wanted to be called anything but Granmaw. You have to think of that slow and with a Texas drawl. Of course that is exactly what his kids ended up calling her. To my daughter, they were Noni and Papaw. What a bummer about the computer scam. Glad he didn’t do any harm to your computer and that you didn’t pay any money. OMG, I can’t really believe the conversation you had with your DH. Did he say those mean things about your opinion, with a straight face? I have to hand it to you for being able to put up with that. ((((Hugs))))

Peach, great that DH is joining you.

Lisa, love the picture!!! Warms my heart.

Mary, has your realtor contacted the other realtor to check with the mortgage company about the appraisal? (later) glad to hear they are doing appraisal.

Margaret, thanks for sharing “Now that I'm older, here's what I've discovered”. Cool that you are getting the desk today.

Tere, so glad your “issues” only lasted a day. Were you too out of sorts to tell SO that he’d best just leave you alone. I mean, give the poor guy a warning! And no punching him,. Okay?? You are so right about “balance” in all things.

Sylvia, how wonderful that you have found a sparing buddy that will challenge you!!! We could all use that.

Lenora, what part of Louisiana will you be visiting? DH is from NE La and that’s where we met and married. I don’t understand?? What is going to pee every 10 minutes supposed to do? I love learning new stuff.

CarolNC, I’m so glad the surgery is tomorrow and you can get fixed. Know that we are all thinking about you and praying for you. ((((Huggs))))

Cynthia, you said,” Uh, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "what the ****?"
Edit: I find this quite harsh. Maybe it's a one-off. Nancy, good luck to you.” You and I certainly don’t always agree, but I definitely agree with you this time. I don’t know what I was thinking or where I was coming from. I apologize to all of you but certainly to Nancy. That is not who I normally am. Nancy, I wish you the best of luck in your journey and will gladly support you any way I can. Please come back often.

Chris, congrats on a great checkup. Glad you are having good weather and not the heat wave many of us are experiencing.

Pat, good to see you. The pictures of the lilies are just beautiful. Love the colors.

Stormlover, welcome. This is a great group of supportive ladies. Come often and join right in. If you would, please tell us a bit about yourself so we can get to know you. Also, we ask that you sign each post with the name you want to be called and a location, general or specific. Good luck.

Vicki, sorry to hear about the depression and your eating fest. Hopefully both are behind you. You take care of you and know we are here for you. (((Hugs)))

Crystal, it is not easy eating out at every meal. I’d probably keep a bottle of Lite Balsamic Vinaigrette with me and when I could, eat a salad with grilled chicken or something. The dressings are what get you. If you order eggs for breakfast, you can ask that they be cooked in as little oil as possible. At lunch or dinner always ask what veggies they have that can be steamed. Admittedly it is a lot of work, but it can be done. Good luck!!

NMMargaret, I love the furniture and would want to keep it too. Good for you.

Michele NC, isn’t it hard t resist just a few little bites, when there is a table or two full of desserts? It almost doesn’t seem fair. I face that once a month at a meeting and it’s hard.

Beth, so sorry your son is having such problems. I’ll pray that he can get the help he needs.

welcome.gif to any Newbies that I missed. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.

DH and I went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch, that we had been talking about going to ever since it opened. I looked up the menu online before we left and it didn’t have any nutritional information. I ordered my usual (high in calories) Chimichanga. I ate half of it and half of my beans and rice and brought the rest home. It was absolutely the best I have ever had. I’m still not sure about the calories but know it was very high. All I can say is it was way yummy.

    Just a thought:
I really think tossing and turning at night should be considered exercise. smiley-sleep012.gif

I wish you all the best success in your journey and your lives.

    Words I live by:
Savor. I have to slow down and savor every bite.
    and
Opportunity. Each day offers new opportunities for good health and happiness if we just look for them and choose them.

Janet I am standing by some flowers at Como Conservatory in St. Paul.

Both my mom and sister were really into antiques. Most of mine are the ones from my mom. I like to visit antique stores because of the history and it reminds me of my sister. I think the yellow desk would have gone to 1-800- JUNK had I not asked for it. When I went to St. Louis it was down in the unfinished basement because it did not fit in with the staging of the house.

Loved all the romantic stories. My current romantic story is DH took me salsa dancing in an outdoor park in St. Paul called Rice Park. I understand why some of you love Zumba it really gives you a work out.

A beautiful HOT day in Northern CA today.hot-sun-smiley-emoticon.gif
Finished painting two large sections of my back fence, in front of which I hope to do some planting of drought-resistant plants.cactus-smiley-emoticon-emoji.png

Stainless steel dishwasher update LOL: Much better on the dishwasher front: DH was fine once I changed the order and reduced the price by $250 (go me!) For now, all is peaceful; but I am worried about going on a trip with DH; he gets VERY nervous when his routine is changed. Gotta start the meditating now. LOL

But the fun part is that our DS2 is going to a training basketball camp wherein there will be college athletics scouts. Plus I think there's a pool at our hotel, and La Jolla beach is amazing.

Hope to see you on the forum when I get back from our "not-going-to-be-anxious" vacation. No oxymorons allowed, just sunscreen and smiles.

So nice to see all you ladies are KEEPING ON KEEPING ON!

    Night-night.

Busy, busy. Quick note, spent most of the day with Goldy again.......ortho specialist for feet (two weeks in a boot, then recheck and may need a pin if not healing), medical supply place, dmv for handicap tag (took FOREVER)........etc. etc. etc. Six plus hours running around. Had dinner with Gwen to calm her down and talk, she called all frantic because she had a letter from her gardener who is now in jail for manslaughter of his eighteen year old helper so I ran over there, picked her up and we went out for a prime rib special..read the letter: he says don't believe the news stories, he's found religion, yada yada yada........yeah, right. Poor woman, she's really doubting her judgement because she liked him so much........he!!, I liked him too, but killing someone kind of takes him off my "dance card". I had been concerned that she would want me to take her to see the idiot in jail; doesn't seem that way now.

Joyce.......All I can do is tell you what I would have done.......stayed there by myself, had my dinner as planned, and called for someone to pick me up when finished.

Carol NC........Best of luck tomorrow; will be thinking of you.

    Mary.........Sending those good vibes!!!!!!

    Margaret.........Lovely furniture!

Michele...........I don't like the term "Grannie" either.........all I think of is the Beverly Hillbillies.

Meg.........Safe trip, how exciting. I just had to co-sign every paper for DD's apt., she's going to be 23, makes no sense to me.

Wanted to write more but too exhausted. On top of everything else I got ticked off by this misogynistic jerk at the dog park who has been irritating me no end with his sweeping and demeaning generalizations about women. Tonight was just not the night I needed someone like him to cross my path .

Too tired to say more. G'nite!

Yesterday the bariatric dietitian posted a new video on carbs. We are pretty much on a no added carb diet and high protein. Fat is not as big a concern as the carbs. So I watched it and at the end she had a pie chart showing that our daily food consumption should be 50% protein, 30% fat and the other 20% carbs. She uses MFP and that's who got me started almost three weeks ago now. She said she could go to the bottom of her food diary and click on "macronutients" and get a pie chart showing how she had done that day. I was able to go and change my nutrients from daily grams to percentages and what an eye opener. I was not eating anywhere near enough protein and way over on the carbs even tho no bread, rice, pasta, etc. I got as close today as possible on the percentage (still low in protein) and really did not have any hunger, except just before lunch cuz we had gone grocery shopping and it was a little later than I normally eat. I did not attain the 50% protein but was a lot higher than I had been getting. I still am unable to get the pie chart to display.

On a more fun note, my house cleaner quit about 6 weeks ago. She's cleaned my house for several years. She thot she would move on and try something new. I've been doing it myself but don't LIKE to. This morning I started looking for a new service. Well this afternoon she happened to be in line at the grocery store just ahead of us and came back to chat. I told her I had started looking for a new house cleaner. She said I'll come do it. She is going to go back to school in August and cleaning homes will allow her to work around her school schedule and still earn some money. She'll come in the morning to clean the house for hubby's birthday party on Sunday. I am thrilled. It's the little things in life that please us most. :)

I really worked and got in 12k steps today, 2500 of them in front of mirror and in the shower, at what Fitbit tells me was an even 6 cal/minute. Had 8000 by the end of lunch, including 5 minutes of running (or was it 6? I can't remember, and neither does the Fitbit), and did some running in the hall after work.
But felt hungry all day, in spite of eating all day, and was really cranky and whiny by the time Larry picked me up.
May just be too little sleep. I've been writing here (in Notepad for transfer so MFP doesn't eat my post, hungry little bugger that it seems to be) until midnight or later each day.

Yeah, sounds like life is indeed crazy for you. I know how you feel about tracking things -- I dropped off Weight Watchers regimens about a year after making goal weight because I was just tired of feeling obsessive about my weight. That was, um, a while ago.
Now I'm returning to obsession-land because I lost 50 pounds without paying a lot of attention, but want to lose another 10 ... and they're being difficult about it.
--I don't know if this would work for you, but I was 213 and nearing diabetes when the doc said to cut out all white carbs. That meant brown rice stedda white, whole wheat stedda white bread ... and an end to snacking on sweets, cakes, chips &c. I also started paying attention to portion control, making sure I took a half-cup of rice instead of covering the plate, that sorta thing. But the funny thing is, thinking of it as cutting out white carbs rather than foregoing sweets,, I didn't feel deprived.
--For what it's worth, I discovered after getting a Fitbit exercise tracker that my brisk walking was faster than I thought. :)
--This is a great place for finding folks to talk to. :) Welcome!

--I'm glad you didn't fall for the "send money" part of the scam and were able to quickly undo the damage.
    --<<<HUGS>>>.
The amateur shrimk (I first typed "shrimp") part of me thinks that maybe the repeated stomping out of restaurants is because that's something he can control.
Still and all, to keep your own sanity you may, at some point, just have to tell the man, "I know your life sucks, but I will not be treated this way. If you continue to insult me and cannot brook dissent, I will have to leave."
I like Lisa's suggestion of writing out the stressors or using relaxation techniques first, and portioning out a bit if Ben and Jerry are still calling.

If y'all are anywhere around New Orleans, maybe we could meet. I know you're coming for family, so wouldn't expect a lot of time.
Me, I find leftovers often last a couple weeks, leaving time to eat other things in between.
I keep my nails really short, partly becuase I can't imagine typing with long nails and partly because I can never remember to keep up with polish.

I'm only up to 11:05a today, but am not gonna do another midnight special. It's almost 11p.

Maybe I should be, for greater differentiation,

Well today was better.... didn't eat everything in sight. Got some walking in before the DGS came at 7:15 a.m. Thank goodness... it was hot today and the little guy has very fair skin. Lathered him up a couple times with sunscreen...because he would put his shoes on and be at the door telling me he was ready to go outside. And when his mom came to pick him up we were learning how to run through the sprinkler... oh oh apparently he is not allowed to do that home.

The water bombers are flying near us again.!! Fire about 12 miles from us, it is in the Forest again. Several fires in Northern Saskatchewan too!!! Alerts have been on the TV all afternoon.

    Rain please!!

I hope I sleep better tonight... and on that note...

    Good night ladies

    MNMargaret

Thanks Margaret for the info. Its a beautiful pic of the flowers and you. Antiques remind me of my sister. When I lived in So. Cal she and I would go to antique stores every chance we got. Her home is full of them. I did keep some of the small things that I can display on my china cabinet, along with the silver coffee service my parents got as a 25th wedding anniversary present. My mom gave it to me many years before she passed and it means so much to me.

Never have danced with DH, he doesn't dance :) A sweet story, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the hugs and letting me whine. I'm good. I just have to keep on keeping on. I did eat some Ritz crackers on Tuesday night think they caught up with me today. I didn't go over calories but for sure over carbs. I just need to hang in there. If I can average 1.5 - 2 # a week I will be thrilled.

I eat alot of veggie/rice/protein meals. Even for lunches. We are retired, so I empathize with people that can't just throw a stew together whenever. I do cook in larger batches, and then mix the rice with another veggie. I try to just close the kitchen 2 hrs before I go to sleep. Its hard but it stops the snacking.

DeeDee[/b Thanks for the positive words! I have been trying really hard this past month by swimming Tues and Thurs, then walking Mon and Fridays. Its been years that I have been doing something EVERY day (except Wed), and my body seems happy. Like right now, being that I swam (swum?) my muscles are still warm and tingly. Like the swimming and the walking have REV'ED up my metabolism a bit. Its a cool thing. I feel powerful, and that is a feeling I didn't think I would ever use when describing myself.

Carol: Good luck with surgery. Sending prayers for your surgeon’s skill and your improved health. :flowerforyou:

Jannie: Sending hugs and support. I hope you get a good night’s rest.

I went to the gym with DSIL and DBIL today and had a nice workout. It sure makes me appreciate my gym at home. A lot of the equipment was the same and the people were nice, but there is no yoga, no zumba, and no spin class. Home has the advantage. DH’s 50th class reunion gets under way tomorrow. I hope the heat doesn’t ruin it for him.

Well hello phat chatters! Not very much to say today except to say how much I thank you all for your very generous outporing of support today. I really needed it. Plus Meg's story of what her first interaction to her husband. You guys mean so much, I have learned so much from all of you. This morning I told my husband that we needed to talk about last night. He asks, what about last night? I said the way you treated me. He didn't even remember. And I agree with the one, can't remember that said that maybe the reason he walks out of a restaurant is that it is something that he has control over since he has lost so much control. The crazy computer guys called me again this morning asking if I had made a decision about downloading their service. I told him that yes I had, I had called the real Microsoft company and reported everything and it was all going to the legal department. So this stupid guy asks if that means I don't want their service. I said oh no, no, no, no. no. You know the rapid fire no no no. So he says of that was so cute the way you said no no no no. So later on they call back again and say this is your computer technician. So I go along with it just to see if I can get some more info. I told him that I don't have a computer guy. He asks if I paid X amount of money yesterday for computer work and I said no that I did not and that I did not need his services or the phone call and I hung up. But then I did another stupid thing tonight. We were out eating with friends and I left my cell phone at the table. At least I was hoping that was where I had left it. Their phone number doesn't ring at the restaurant, it's all computerized. So I had to drive and the bus boy had turned it in!!!! But now that is 3 things in about a week that are just plain stupid careless, reckless things. I ran into a stop light, let myself be talked into a computer scam and then left my phone. I am seriously going to put myself back on my MS medicine that I had stopped on my own thinking everything was fine and I didn't need it. BTW, I still haven't told the neurologist.

Speaking of neurologist, Charlie had his 6 month appointment today and everything is stable. He does have additional tremor on his right side but that is all. So medicine stays the same and see him in 6 months.

Now if I can just get back into an exercise pattern and lose some of this weight again.

But the fun part is that our DS2 is going to a training basketball camp wherein there will be college athletics scouts. Plus I think there's a pool at our hotel, and La Jolla beach is amazing.

Jen- La Jolla is beautiful! La Jolla shores is our favorite beach in San Diego because it has fire rings and my kids have night time bon fires often with friends there all the time. Also tide pools are fun and close enough to walk to from la Jolla shores beach. If you have time our county fair is going on through July 4th in Del Mar and a drive to Coronada Island is worth it. It's beautiful and they have a very nice free beach with no hassle parking right by the Hotel Del. If your family is interested in stand up paddle boarding or kayaking lmk and I can recommend some places.

Joyce- you have a lot on your plate right now with your hubbie but please do take care of yourself. If you can find a way to focus on what's really important to you and let the #%@$, less important stuff go. Find the thing that will give you the energy to deal with every thing else.

Carol in NC- sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

Had a good day. DD and DH are going to look at colleges in Chicago this weekend. Can't believe she'll be a senior in high school next year. Then DD and I are off to Las Vegas for dance Nationals at the MGM. No drinking or gambling for me just dance Mom's and their daughters ( sigh).

Nighty nite. Rosie in So Cal

Joyce: sounds like stress to me. I do "stupid" things when I have too much stress or am too busy.

Alison: so glad you had a nice day yesterday.

Hope everybody who had a bad day yesterday has a better one today. And I hope I don't get the cold I kind of feel coming om. Dang public transportation. I've hardly been sick at all for the last 13 years, working at home, and as soon as I take a job requiring commuting I just feel the germs crawling all over me. Gah.
