What nobody tells you about losing weight

Now that it's gotten warmer (for some of us) does anyone else find they're more comfortable in the heat? I've been very uncomfortable the last few summers but these past few days it's been in the 90s (F, or 32 C) and I've been fine. I'm not diving for the AC in my car...sometimes I'll just open a window. Anyone else?
(Granted, a lot of this could do with the fact I can now wear more summer clothes. The past few summers I just rolled up my jeans because I didn't want to buy bigger skirts/shorts/dresses.)
YES! This exactly. I feel as though I don't sweat as much and I'm more tolerant of the heat. Oh and I also love not having the fat roll sweat marks on the fronts of my shirts! lol

I love doing fewer loads of washing each week because all my clothes are so much smaller :-)8

your belly button might sag and disappear .you have to start cleaning it & moisturizing it so it doesn't hurt
how *kitten* sagging and loose skin is
how freezing cold you will be in the winter
on the positive:
i tolerate heat like an absolute champ now

That you'll start to love shopping for clothing.
That it takes a lot longer to need smaller undies than it does to need smaller pants. I dropped five sizes in pants but was still wearing the same undies. But when the underwear do finally get too big, you really have to get new ones fast. All of a sudden mine were too big and started sliding down under my jeans (and forget about with skirts)!5 -

I feel more normal now. I've gone from a 12 to a 4 and am still in all of my same underwear! They're just a bit more comfortable I guess.

Yes, i find the heat is much more bearable when my weight is lower. I can be outside also and not sweat as much.0 -
I used to count sheep on those times when I was trying to fall off to sleep - I actually found myself counting leg presses the other night........3

They never tell you.....How expensive it will be to buy new clothes for the next season...I lost about 15 pounds over the winter, when summer came around everything didn't fit. I was wondering why my dress pants were so baggie I had to buy new pants (4 sizes smaller), new blouses (size M instead of XL), and I even had to buy new panties as the old ones looked like parachutes after loosing all of the weight.
Still going to lose 10 more pounds...so shopping this winter should be fun
They never tall you how awesome it will be to fit into jeans you wore in highschool. My *kitten* looks amazing lol4 -

I totally agree, I have spend a ton of money and it was all worth it. New clothes throughout, gym membership, personal trainer, workout classes, more new clothes, my love of workout attire has me buying more of that all the time, jewelry had to be re-sized, race fees. I could go on and on and I wouldn't trade any of it to go back the way I was.

Goodwill got a lot of donations from me for a while...size 22-24 to a size 8-10. Got rid of everything that was too big as soon as it was too big.

Is anyone else a lot happier? I know I know, who wouldn't be happy after losing weight but I just feel so much freer. I can wear fun summer clothes again. I'm not ashamed to try new things. Earlier today I walked into a running store and felt like I owned the place.
After I initially lost weight I was pretty self-conscious. I didn't want to be noticed. That's gone away and I'm 100% out there!9 -
The original poster listed:
"Sitting (particularly in baths) and laying (particularly in beds) will become ever increasingly uncomfortable."
This is 100% true. I moved to a standing desk at work because sitting was uncomfortable. When my family is watching TV, I have to be up and doing something.4 -
Awesome thread! Thanks!0

Forgot to add, once the weight comes off you can buy things off the rack and not worry too much that they won't fit. I still have to do the length test, but I no longer have to do the "sit test". That is, try a shirt on and sit down to see if my stomach makes it too tight.4
-
- How self conscious you start to feel when you know everyone is looking at you (because they can't stop saying how great you look now that you've lost weight)
- How stressful it is to maintain weight
- How easy it is to gain weight
- At a certain weight, it's not really greener on the other side
- Buying jeans in a size 8 is just as frustrating as buying jeans in a size 209 -
Thank you so much I have a difficulty believe in myself to keep up my weight loss of 23lbs I feel better an I've lost inches however its difficult to see yet in the miorr because I want to see big changes an all I notice is small changes ...I hope if I keep going it will pay off.

I totally agree. I have now only got one size of clothes in my wardrobe, so I can't just drift back into my fat clothes without noticing! And they are all good quality clothes that fit and make me feel fabulous. But it is seriously expensive having to do it all in one season! But it's certainly an incentive to stay this size, because I certainly can't afford to do it again3 -

Yep, I have made a trip every week for months to get rid of the old stuff. I think I've pretty much done the last of it today.2 -

23 lbs lost is great! Just keep trying every day, and eventually you WILL get there! I've lost 26 lbs, and am at the point where my weight loss has stalled, but I am still seeing changes in how my clothes fit so I'm sticking with it. I've realized this is going to be a two year process with waiting for the skin to bounce back and such. Just keep going!1 -
I hate men hitting on me now. It's annoying as hell to think they would not have given me the time of day when I was a size 16 and now they do at a size 2. I understand attraction is important, but it makes me angry that I was less of a somebody before. Glad I married my husband this year at 23 when I was almost 30 pounds heavier. I've dropped the weight and then some, so I relish how much my husband has always appreciated my body, before and now.37

Thank you for sharing this. I'm really happy that your husband enjoys your body with more meat or more sleek. It's good that you relish in your husband's appreciation of your body. I'm only 20 from my goal weight but I am already annoyed at how dudes that weren't feeling me then are suddenly feeling me now; and I haven't even got to goal yet. It's like, seriously?

Just when you think your boobs couldn't possibly get any smaller... They do.12

That's pretty much my story too! I was a ??DD (I ended up wearing elasticated crop tops because I couldn't find bras to fit... So not sure on exact size) and am now a 38B. I did my measurements this morning, and still lost a couple of cms of my chest this month.... *sigh*
On a positive note, it does make exercise easier, I can wear nice blouses without them straining across my chest, and
and I can find cute bras that fit (even if they serve no real purpose...)2
