What's for supper???

We had a simple plan for supper tonight. Margie would run by and pick up a rack of ribs from Harvey's Deli while I headed to the garden for a few more green beans and pole beans to go with the ones picked yesterday. It all worked out great, except Harvey's was out of ribs. Margie came up with the idea of Tortilla soup, so we went that direction. I added a can of chipotle chicken and a few potatoes to the Bear Creek soup mix. Turned out pretty good. Also had a couple more ears of corn. We have enough in the fridge for a few more days. Dessert was my newest Greek strawberry blueberry creation, with double strawberry {no sugar added} ice cream and strawberries added.

We had Maple BBQ pork ribs, baked potato and peas0

It's just one of those days where I need a great big bowl full of tuna fish with a liberal serving of hot sauce. Possibly a little mayonnaise.0

Last night we had southwestern grilled chicken sandwiches with pepperjack cheese and avocado, along with grilled corn on the cob.0

Grilled basa fish, bbq potatoes, peas, julienned carrots and zucchini with some cottage cheese0 -

Wow, that's really healthy stuff! I've been 'good' for weeks. I didn't feel like to eat the entire day. I had two mini jam doughnuts, a nutella filled doughnut with 1/5 a coffee and was about to give up for the day. I somehow forced myself to get out there and go through a massive chicken kebab plate with 2 dips (smoked eggplant dip and red pepper and parsley dip) and 2 salads (vegetable couscous salad which I had two spoonfuls of and green bean salad).
I cleaned it all up - didn't finish the bread or the couscous salad but today's my cheat day and it's the first substantial meal I've had in weeks...which is progress.0 -

More soup tonight. Also had ham, fried and roasted chicken breast, mixed veggies and a new Jalapeno popper recipe. The poppers turned out really good considering what a poor quality of bacon I had bought. We tried some of them with BBQ sauce, and they were good too. Later on I had part of a cast iron skillet chocolate chip cookie. {a Christmas gift that needed using}

I was the lazy man at supper tonight. It was the last of the soup, and ham, turkey, chicken breast and Swiss on a toasted Ciabatta roll, mixed veggies and corn on the cob. Not too bad.

I thawed peas with ham, and rice and sausage from my work freezer. Then did a Harvey's run for a rack of ribs. Came back with ham, turkey, Colby Jack and rolls. I had forgotten how hot that rice and sausage was. I ended up mixing the peas in with them to cool it off enough to eat. Was very good though. One of the ladies in the Quilter's Club made a couple of Key lime pies. Yum.

I was at Walgreens tonight and there was an end cap display of Honey Nut Cheerios and all I could think was, "pshaw don't waste my time little bee, you may tempt my tummy with the taste of nuts and honey but you ain't got the iron I need..."
I found some of the Protein Cheerios super cheap, so I bought a couple of boxes. I still have some of my Kashi's left, so I don't know how it taste yet. But it does have good protein numbers.
I love the protein Cheerios that are soooooo good!0 -

I picked up 2 rotisserie chickens at the deli and made us a big salad and added the breast on top. It was so good and easy on a hectic Monday night.0 -

The Crock pot/Slow cooker is your friend. I use mine most of the time. Just dump the ingredients in and set it on low. You are done for the day. Some recipes, especially those that I eat with rice or wraps that use broccoli slaw, require an addition for the last 30 minutes or so but dumping in a cup of dry brown rice and (maybe) some extra water or a bag of pre-cut broccoli slaw isn't hard to do when you are tired.0 -

I cooked a pot of peas {with bacon} for supper. Also had some sausage links, sausage and rice, Jalapeno popper {wrapped in bacon}, and a sausage and bacon sandwich. It's a shame I didn't have any ham or pork chops, then I would have had about all the pig parts covered.
