    8/1 - 5.82 mi
    8/2 - 4.05 mi
    8/3 - 4.35 mi of on-track speed work...tough!
8/4 - Rest day; might sneak in a walk this evening though.
8/5 - 2.0 mi on indoor track; 45 minutes of aerobics / cross-training with HM group.
8/6 - 3.1 mi, beautiful morning in Central Iowa!

@JimCrackinDandy - my knees would hurt too, if I had done 12 yesterday!
@ddmom0811 - hard to get that long run in this time of year. 6.15 mi in that kind of weather is pretty great!

@JimCrackinDandy - So sorry to hear that a Road Ogre ate your bottle cap! I may reconsider getting road Hoka's knowing they haunt the roads too.

I got in a very late 12 miler yesterday, there is just so much going on it was hard to fit it in...but I did! I suspect my mid-week long runs may normally be this late going forward with the kids starting school next week. That's about the only stretch of time I can figure I will be able to fit it in.

    8/1 - 10 miles
    8/2 - 12 miles (22 miles total)
    8/4 - 8 miles (30 total)
    8/5 - 12 miles (42 miles total)

    Goal 220 miles

My computer at work doesn't seem to want to go to this page today. I hate doing this on blackberry.

8/6 - 1.8 miles. Thought the thunderstorm passed, I got almost a mile before the thunder and lightening was coming at me. I took the short loop and headed home. I don't do lightening. Skip's XC practice was canceled so we will try again tonight.

    23.7 miles out of 120

@Stoshew71, thanks for the link! Good stuff to think about! I had been trying to run softly before, but this nagging calf thing has made me work even harder at it and I think it will pay off, not only for this issue, but in the long run. This is one of the reasons I quit listening to music when I run. It messes up my cadence.

We have a local orthopaedic clinic which has running specialists. I may go in to have a running evaluation done if I insurance will cover it. It would be nice to get a professional evaluation done to make sure I'm using a running technique that will minimize the chance of injury.

Ninth straight day at the gym today, took it easy walking pace mostly. Will rest tomorrow and then get back into it on Saturday.

Up to 71.7 K this month now, out of 250 K goal.

Planning to kick it up a notch next week, not necessarily in distance but in intensity...admitting to self that mostly walking this distance is not going to make much difference in my fitness level, and really want to improve!

Had a great time a the amusement park yesterday, but today I feel like I've been picked up and shaken like one of the dog's toys!

I did my strength training, if you can call it that, and ran an easy 3 miles at 5.0 mph on the treadmill in the gym movie studio room this morning. I saw Mr. Noodles being eaten by a Raptor. That was...weird.

    DATE ... MILES
    8/1 ... 16.5
    8/2 ... 10
    8/4 ... 5
    8/5 ... 8

    39.5/200 goal

Did 8 miles on the trails last night after work. I normally hate running in the evening however it is a huge stress relief to run alone through a forest. Very serene.

I did not however get myself out of bed in time this morning to run. Looks like I will be running at lunch which I hate (either traffic or lettuce fields as running paths). Oh well.

@JoRocka - my 5 year old love mixed matched socks as well! She purposely does it. ;)
