That would do need to figure out. I do that all the time, book things as an incentive. And then don't train. it doesn't always work. Are there any half marathons locally in Dec you can start training for as a shorter term objective? Or even a 10k in like Oct or nov?
Its going to cost me nearly £1000 in flights and hotel (about $1500) for a week. It better be a beeping incentive!
there is windsor half marathon on 27th September, but I'll have been back from holiday for 2 days, so i think that will be beyond me.
there is a 5/10/15/20km walk/run/jog at Eton Dorney on 23rd January.
Definitely don't do the 1/2 in Sept its too soon. Look to the Eton Dorney that sounds more reasonable.
So, I think a week will be good.- Get there Thur, Race Expo Friday
- Race Saturday/nap or hotel (house) pool (NOTE if we rent a house or get a hotel we need a HOT TUB), then dinner on Broadway
- Sunday recovery/Zoo (believe it or not it will be good to move)?
- Monday Plantation/tours
- Tuesday Broadway/Nashville (will be doing a bit of that probably Friday too but we don't want to walk too much) or if we have had enough of Broadway/Nashville more tours?
- Wed either one more day relax/day trip or leave?
I plan on driving down so will probably drive down a day early or same day depending on when you are getting in when you book your flights. So I need a travel day each way too for driving.

I did a ladies 5 miler that was on the day before the Windsor half a few years ago. Don't know if they still do that, but it was quite good, around the great park.0 -
We leave for Peru on Saturday!
.
I'm so jealous. You are going to have a great time. I think ( from my stalking) you are going to Machu Picchu right? It's beautiful. One of the best things I've ever done. If you are lucky and get there early you get to do the additional climb (can't remember the name of it) We missed it sadly but still really enjoyed the experience. Right - need to go find myself a new adventure now, this is making me crave one.
Oh, and don't forget to try some guinea pig whilst you're over there....
We are doing Machu Picchu but not the Inca Trail (instead one of the alternative routes) so we won't be arriving early. We are staying the night in Aguas Calientes afterward though and have already booked ticked for the Huayna Picchu climb for the following day
I doubt I'll be eating cuy, though. I'm kind of a "friends not food" person with normally-domestic animals. Like, I had no problem eating various antelope, crocodile, warthog, etc., in Africa, but I won't touch dog or horse. I know it's weird and arbitrary but I have a line, I guess. My husband plans to eat anything he can get his hands on, however.0 -
Had my first unsolicited bump/size comment today from a co-worker I hardly know! It went along the lines of:
- When are you due?
- Early January.
- You're big for that early on. My wife didn't show until she was 6 months gone.
- Brave of you to comment on a woman's size.
- ...awkward silence...
-
I don't mind a comment when I post a bump photo in the batcave, I'm rather inviting them. But coming unsolicted from acquaintances I hardly know, um no thanks. If you wouldn't say it to a non-pregnant woman, why would you think it's okay now. I'm not upset as I know he wasn't trying to be rude. I just think it's a crappy double standard.0 -

sounds good to me. I can get a flight that gets in to Nashville about 4pm local time on the Thursday, and one out the following Wednesday that departs at 5.15pm, letting me sleep overnight.

Oddly enough I am usually the same with 'pet' type foods but we were taken out by our guide and I felt I should at least try. I have to admit it wasn't bad although it looked disturbing and I felt proper guilty eating it. Weirdly though, I feel better about that than eating crocodiles as I have a life long fascination with them! I envy your choice of trip. I could only afford the Inca Trail as I also spent a week in the Galapagos. A friend did an alternative trail and said it was beautiful. I still had a fab time but would have liked to go off the beaten track a little. That said though, we had the best guide who was really enthusiastic and knowledgeable which made it worth while. I hope you have the most fantastic time, you sound truly prepared for it which will make it better as you won't be gasping for breath at parts like I was!!0 -

good, fun interactions, actual conversations that moved past the "hi, how's your day going?" type thing.
but despite fun convo, dude kinda seemed like he was never going to actually ask me out, so on friday, i was like hey, if you wanna hang out let me know! so then we ended up going to a local place that evening.
in person, it was....awkward?
he was really quiet and withdrawn. which, i get the whole nervous first date type thing, but usually after a few hours, that lightens up a little. only it didn't. he just didn't seem very interested, and that's totally fine. but it still feels weird. so after a few hours, a few beverages, my filter ceases to exist, and upon saying good night (no attempt at a kiss or even a hug), the phrase "you poor boy" slipped out. eep.
que the ensuing text argument wherein any chance of a second date was destroyed. so despite what appeared to be a total lack of all interest, dude says he had a good time. but of course at this point, i'm all angsty and annoyed and say as much in regards to his stand-offishness, to which he does the fine, it's all me whatever, thing.

It's about Masters & Johnson, and their medical study about human sexuality. Though, it's full of drama and such to make good TV, of course!lilaclovebird wrote: »Italian_Buju wrote: »I confess that I love the show Masters Of Sex.
@Italian_Buju I've been thinking about getting into it. Is it really that good? I thought it would be great but I've never gotten around to watching any of it.
I liked it a lot more before this current season. I personally feel like too much time has passed in the course of the show, without a whole lot really happening/changing/etc. But, the acting is fantastic, so there's always that.0 -

Yes, because I don't believe anyone actually likes to clean. We just all know we need to get it done anyway. (see my previous post wantIng Rosie the Robot).
I actually really like to clean but only if I am angry, stressed, or REALLY excited/happy about something. EVERY TIME I visit SSP, I clean his WHOLE apartment. It's a problem. I mean I get his laundry going and everything. He says he really appreciates it. I've even gone so far as to bathe his dogs!
I pull all of his clothes out of his drawers and fold them, mate his socks, vacuum and shampoo his carpets, dust. I cook for him. It's like somewhere in my subconscious mind I'm trying to show him I'm good wife material or something. But really, I am just happy to be doing something for him that he doesn't really have time to do for himself and I think cleaning up after him and cooking for him is a way I can show I care.
Will you marry me?0 -

You MUST try to get to the Grand Old Opry if you can move at all on Saturday night. If you can't, you must see the Ryman Auditorium during your visit. Since imam not racing, I'm probably going to try to drive down Friday and home on Sunday. Nashville is just 4.5 hours from my house.

He then cleans the floors when he gets home (except for once a month when I do the hands-and-knees floor cleaning instead to get the stuff I think he misses with the stupid Swiffer mop.) Our roommate just does garbages and recycling.
It saves us all the headache because I don't get stressed about stuff not being done well/weekly and they don't get stressed about me being mad or judging how well they do it. Plus I find it kind of soothing to get the house in order and they just find it onerous.0 -

I just think it's a crappy double standard.
When is it ever OK to tell anybody that they're awfully big? I mean, really.
Yup. This.
And just for the record..I saw your picture in the Batcave and think you look great! (which I already commented on..but I'll say it again).0 -

I'm just tired and crabby. I'll be better by tomorrow.
I'd be torqued, too. Staying home because of a "headache" is a hot issue for me.
But, it's tomorrow now, so I guess you're better.
You have clearly never had a migraine.
No, I understand that I'm very fortunate that way. I totally get that people have debilitating migraines, and I totally didn't mean to come off as judgmental about anything like that.
My comment is related to my son's senior year of high school. Every time I was traveling for work, he would miss school for a "headache". I took him to doctors after doctors, including a couple of neurologists. He wound up dropping out of school and going back to get his GED. Guess what? No more headaches as soon as he quit school.0 -

Sorry, I get that some people use as an excuse, but as a migraine sufferer, I can say I have missed a few days of work due to headaches, because there is no way I could survive looking at a computer screen when I have one.0 -

Probably stress related headaches from being unable to deal with the school structure. Otherwise, having to sit in the back to be "cool" meant he had to strain to see the board. Both of those were issues with illness and headaches during my school years.
Or he's just lazy.0 -

I fully understand your pain, my momma gave me that lovely migraine gene. Thankfully I don't get them all that often but when I do man oh man I am down and out, throwing up from the pain.0 -
@spamarie, please tell me you actually said that! That's the perfect reaction, not attacking yourself but a very clear indication that he was being unfathomably rude. Very much in the Dear Ann/Abby/Prudence advice column vein of "...whatever would make you say that?". I approve heartily.
Editing to add that I saw the photo in the batcave and you look adorable and not oversized in the slightest. Short (and short torsoed) women usually show faster from what I've observed because there's just nowhere for it to hide!0 -

Mine too! Started about a year ago (early 30s onset is common). I've only had two full-blown ones, because I started making adjustments as soon as the first one happened, and figuring out what was mostly likely triggering them. I've had inklings since then, but have managed to keep them at bay by chugging water, and taking enough aspirin for two of me.
I'm actually considering a trip to the doctor to try and get a legitimate diagnosis and get a script for some serious "just in case" meds. I cannot deal with the blurred vision - how would I get home if it started anywhere else?0
