Good call. I hope all is ok.
Thanks. They just called him back for triage so I'm hoping we see a doctor soon. He swears he's fine but he just told me his chest is hurting worse.0 -

You'll probably be there at least a few hours (sorry to be a downer). Every patient I've ever seen who comes in for chest pain is guaranteed to receive an EKG at the very least. After the test is done, it usually takes at least an hour to come back. If the EKG comes back abnormal, they'll most likely check troponin levels. Elevated troponin signals that a person has had a heart attack recently. Good luck, hope everything is alright!0 -

Never chance it with chest pain. I hope it's not anything major, but you did the right thing.

I had a feeling things weren't too good today.... you were very quiet. Sorry. Hugs to you and I hope the blues pass soon. I think you need to have some cookies every day. I think you get sad when you don't. You are like the female cookie monster...just not shaggy, hairy and blue (color wise not emotional wise). I hope when you eat cookies you also don't spray crumbs everywhere.0 -

How weird that you just wrote this. I wrote on your page about 5 minutes ago asking if you were ok. I'm sorry today wasn't good. But yay for cookies and brownies? Did they make you feel any better?
I didn't make them for me, I made them for Mr. Susie. (He's down in the dumps too--must be something in the air.) I don't like the brownie recipe that he loves, so I don't touch them--they're really dense and gooey and they make me feel kind of sick. I had two cookies, but I'm not in a food mood really. :-/
I did see your message, and replied to it, too! I really appreciate that you checked in. Makes me feel special.
YOU ARE SPECIAL. I mean that. With all my heart.0 -

We have a lot of people on the thread and we don't know their circumstances. We can't judge until we've walked a mile in their shoes. Then we're a mile away, with new shoes
FWIW, I've been both the other woman and been cheated on (different men, both before I was age 20). Believe me when I say I know karma kicked my butt for choices I made. I could put it down to immaturity. Sometimes, despite having a moral compass, emotions can lead to terrible decisions. I don't excuse what I did in the past, but look at it as an experience that brings me here today.
And now, I practice ethical non monogamy, everything is open, there is no need to lie or go behind anyone's back. That said the smarties and I are closed, which means none if us want or are looking for any other partner or playmate, but if anyone did, it would be openly discussed.
But given social norms and pressure to conform, most people will do the underhand thing and hope they don't get caught, because the idea that you can be with, or love more than one person at a time is not yet acceptable. No one person should be under pressure to meet all the need, wants and desires of another person.
I have said this before, but I do not think humans were made for monogamy. Mostly for the reasons bolded. Nobody chooses who they love, and it is very possible to truly love more than one person at a time. Also, it is nearly impossible to fulfill 100% of another humans wants, and needs, alone.
Some people get into a monogamous relationship knowing, maybe even in denial, that monogamy is not really a long term option. But, they do it anyway, because of the pressure society puts on them. This reminds me of gay people that marry into a hetrosexual relationship to hid. You can only suppress your true self for so long.
Then there is also the idea that some people are meant to be monogamous, but under the right set of circumstances, ANYONE can have an indiscretion.0 -
Welcome back @FroggyBug ! Glad you had a great time and are still making progress with your boyfriend.

So after my sweet dog passed away on August 1, my mom and I (mainly my mom) decided to have her cremated. We were able to have her paw print made so we would always have that with us, as well. We got her ashes a week after she passed, but we just picked up her paw print that was made, and I almost started bawling my eyes out while leaving the vet.

so sorry about your sweet doggy. The paw print might be hard to look at now but it will be something to treasure. I keep my girls paw print beside my chair.0 -

My mommy and I were sharing the wine at 8 o'clock in the morning. Because we're cool like that.
I don't think she ever anticipated I would pick up my phone and text someone...let alone SSP.@lilaclovebird If it were me I would not bring it up again. Just let it sit for now. It has been said and an explanation given. Give it time (a month or two or three or more) and see. If this is love and this is mutual love then there is no hurry and waiting *can* make it better if either side has any issues. When I realized I loved SO I almost said it so many times but I held myself back and really examined my motives. When I realized and was sure that I wanted to say it no matter what the response or result, well that was when I said it. I told SO that I have really enjoyed my time with him, how fun and warm and caring he is. I told him that I wanted him to know that I have realized for awhile that I love him and that I felt he should know it. I told him I was not saying it to hear it back, that I didn't need to hear it back. I also at the same time told him that if he realized at some point that he could "never" say it back that he needed to let me know so that I could move on because I deserve to have a man who loves me in my life. It was probably 6 weeks later that when I told him goodnight and I love you that he said, I love you too. I know others here have shared similar stories. For me personally in this relationship it was important to wait. For SO, too, he pondered and thought about it for a long time before he said it. He was thinking about it before I said anything.
Hugs to you. Follow your heart. Take the advice that makes sense to you or take non at all.
@nonoelmo I will be taking this advice. I'll probably bring it up again in several months after he's back from New York. He leaves in November and comes back December 10th.
Now that I'm looking back, I realized there were times where I almost said it and held it back. I guess when I got the wine in me I couldn't hold it back.
ETA: For now, things will stay playful and fun. I will continue to take it day by day and if he brings it up, I might talk about it. If not, then I wont stress or worry about it.
There is an app that will lock out your phone from sending texts/making calls until you solve a math problem or something. I once considered getting it when I sent some gibberish texts whilst drinking over the course of a few weeks. But, I'm really good at math, so I figured I'd just have to figure something else out. LOL
I am ALSO really good at math....I am actually better at math drunk than I am sober!
I remember doing math homework with my now ex watching me and asking "How are you doing all of that?" as he looked at the empty wine bottle with another half empty one next to me. :laugh:0 -

first date #14
interacting online and via text, things were pretty cool.
good, fun interactions, actual conversations that moved past the "hi, how's your day going?" type thing.
but despite fun convo, dude kinda seemed like he was never going to actually ask me out, so on friday, i was like hey, if you wanna hang out let me know! so then we ended up going to a local place that evening.
in person, it was....awkward?
he was really quiet and withdrawn. which, i get the whole nervous first date type thing, but usually after a few hours, that lightens up a little. only it didn't. he just didn't seem very interested, and that's totally fine. but it still feels weird. so after a few hours, a few beverages, my filter ceases to exist, and upon saying good night (no attempt at a kiss or even a hug), the phrase "you poor boy" slipped out. eep.
que the ensuing text argument wherein any chance of a second date was destroyed. so despite what appeared to be a total lack of all interest, dude says he had a good time. but of course at this point, i'm all angsty and annoyed and say as much in regards to his stand-offishness, to which he does the fine, it's all me whatever, thing.
done and done.
i miss mr.jerkface more than i care to admit
Stupid frogs. I wish I could just conjure up Mr. Right-for-you and send him your way!
hehehehe, i wish you could too!
i just want to come home from work one day and have a cute dude sitting on my front porch, he knows all my weird quirks, likes to clean, can make me laugh, and wants to love me forevers.
is that too much to ask for?
Yes, because I don't believe anyone actually likes to clean. We just all know we need to get it done anyway. (see my previous post wantIng Rosie the Robot).
I actually really like to clean but only if I am angry, stressed, or REALLY excited/happy about something. EVERY TIME I visit SSP, I clean his WHOLE apartment. It's a problem. I mean I get his laundry going and everything. He says he really appreciates it. I've even gone so far as to bathe his dogs!
I pull all of his clothes out of his drawers and fold them, mate his socks, vacuum and shampoo his carpets, dust. I cook for him. It's like somewhere in my subconscious mind I'm trying to show him I'm good wife material or something. But really, I am just happy to be doing something for him that he doesn't really have time to do for himself and I think cleaning up after him and cooking for him is a way I can show I care.0 -

@saraherren I'm sorry for your loss.
We're here for you if you need to share any good memories okay?

@raelynnsmama52512 I would think they might keep him overnight. Every time my dad has gone to the hospital with chest pains they end up keeping him overnight. Even the one time it was just HELLA bad heartburn.

Confession: I have been avoiding drinking wine because I think it is the main cause for my weight loss stopping.
I have also been avoiding the grocery store for fear that Blue Bell will take the place of the wine....0 -

There's this thing called 'baby brain' or 'pregnancy brain' which I thought was a bit of a myth but might just have something to it. I've found myself of late nearly leaving the house with no shoes on, or putting the milk in the oven and other such random things. I put it down to having more important/interesting/cute things to think about.
Well the other night I went for a pee but forgot to pull my knickers down! I pulled down my trousers and just plain forgot I had knickers on at all. In my defense, they were tiny knickers and I can't see past my bump anymore. But still. Gross. Only noticed when I went to wipe. Argh! Knickers went straight in the washing machine. Thank goodness it was only a number one (they'd have gone in the bin!).
Told you it was a gross confession.
HAHAHA this is so funny.
Gross confession: I did something similar once, but mine was because of alcohol...
I am really embarrassed now that I was neither pregnant nor drunk when I made that error! Just in a hurry!
No worries--I've done it a few times when I just couldn't hold it anymore! I would get to the bathroom in time, but not get "all the way" to the bathroom in time, if you know what I mean. Luckily I was always at home...
See, this is another perfect example of how we all think we have been the ONLY one to do something super embarrassing, and at least 4 of us have now owned up to having done it before!
I'm glad I started this whole pee-related confession now. I'm sure we all feel a lot of relief (pun intended).0 -

No judgement but EWWW HOW?! I tried it raw once, nope never again. Now cooked with some lemon juice nomnom
A coworker laughed at me the day I ate raw mushrooms with just a little bit of seasoning on them.
I quite like raw swede (rutabaga) sliced thinly. You can't leave it overnight as it develops a nasty taste, but fresh it's quite nice. I eat it with carrot sticks.

I'm getting a bit embarrassed about colleagues calling across the office "you look like you've lost weight", so everyone looks up. And then having to admit that the scale shows no change (maybe its broken??) but shape changing.0

Time for my REAL confession.
I used to play World of Warcraft. Like hardcore raiding.
I was in one of the top 10 raiding guilds for our server. I would sit and raid for HOURS. It was how my now ex-husband and I met. He was our raid leader for team B of DARK REIGN and then team A for Emo Kittenz and we were occasionally intermittent with Rhymes with Orange. If you know any of those guilds, I will be mildly impressed.
I would NOT get up to use the restroom. Straight up, pee in a cup because "bio breaks were for n00bs" and one night, forgot my cup. I peed. Right there in my chair.
The only shame came when it wasn't even worth it because we ended up with a full wipe of the raid and called it shortly after.
So yeah, I peed myself for a VIDEO GAME. Talk about embarrassing....
ETA: I just posted this on the internet and I want SO BADLY to take it back and delete it all because I fear judgement. But I'm not going to.....I need to own up to my learning experiences.
I have learned, no video game is worth peeing yourself for.0 -
