Many thanks for your advice to my problem. I've found a running club that meets once a week which isn't ideal but it's a start. I am hoping once the people get settled into housing they will not congregate in such large groups and I will feel better going out running . Have a great day wherever you are ☺☺

Woke up sort of nervous about this one; I was trying some new roads and I'm always nervous the city has turned off water fountains early. But it ended up being a really great long run. The best 20 miler I've done, hands down! I can count on one hand how many times I walked, and I still managed to beat any previous 20 mile time by about 18 minutes :open_mouth: Before today, I'd never paced below 10:00 for 20 miles, and today I paced 9:14! Plus there was about 950 feet of elevation gain which for me as a born Midwesterner is immense! I can feel the need for more core work though; my lower back was definitely getting sore about mile 18. But I've definitely got my dried fruit + gel combo down; yet again my last few miles were among my fastest and I ended the run on a downhill 7:50 mile. Now it's time to shower, eat ALL THE EGGS, and go to a food + jazz fest this afternoon. Happy Sunday Runday, all!

9/1 - 3.5 miles - way too many pushes on the snooze this morning!
9/2 - rest day walked the doggie instead
    9/3 - 5.1 miles
9/4 - 10 miles last 2 were HOT HUMID and MISERABLE LOL
9/5 - rest day - cross country meet - Skip did great 24th in her division 23:37 no where near a PR but it was so hot and humid you could hardly stand to be out there to watch let alone run. Proud of my girl.
    9/6 - 5.1 miles
9/7 - 5.2 miles of trail running - OMG we had so much fun!!! Skip wanted to practice trail running for her meets and folks gave me some great recommendations of trails to run. We went out this morning and had a blast. The first trail was marked as easy/difficult so it was some easy packed dirt and some gravel with harder roots and rocks to climb. The second was difficult and some parts were about 2' wide and quite a climb (for me LOL). We loved it!
    9/8 - 5.1 miles
    9/9 - 5.5 miles
9/10 - 7.2 miles nice slow pace this morning, just wanted to get the miles in. Still pretty humid (97%) but the temp was 69 so it was nice. Annoying little doggie chased me this morning and nipped at my heels, honestly people it's dark out keep your doggies inside so they don't get run over.
    9/11 - 5.3 miles - cool 64 but humid 100% morning, but nice weather for a run
9/12 - xc meet rest day
9/13 - 2 miles - was going to rest, but did 2 miles at the lake to move my legs
9/14 - 6.2 miles - good night 46 degrees in Alabama in September who would have thought it!
    9/15 - 5.4 miles
    9/16 - rest day
9/17 - 8 miles - started off ugly and then got great and felt good. Negative splits the whole way...that never happens
    9/18 - 5.6 miles
9/19 - 10 miles felt good the whole run (that never happens) every mile under 11 mins most were around 10:34 the last was 9:56 giving me a 10:33 overall pace. I'd have to check but that has to be my best 10 miler. Taking Skip to see US Women's World Cup team play Haiti this afternoon. Can't wait.

    30 mile goal

    9/2/ 1.8
    9/4 1.5
    9/6 3.7
    9/8 2
    9/10 2.2
    9/12 2
    9/14 3.5
    9/16 2.0
    9/18 2.1
9/20 2.5 This was my faster run in a while, averaging 10:57 per mile. Running every other day is paying off, and temperature below 80 makes a huge difference as well.

6.7 miles to go--I'll need a bigger challenge for next month.

Thanks! I'm training for the Philadelphia Marathon on November 22. It'll be my 3rd marathon, and I'm hoping to go well under 4 hours :)

9-1: 3.08 km...everything was going fine for the first 2k. First run after a very well-fed and drank vacation (seriously, a rib-eye the size of my forearm for the last dinner). 2.5k, I notice how tight my right leg feels. I loosen up my shoe and that does nothing. I started walking, and tried to pick back up but I was in so much pain I had to call my mom for rescue. Ugh.
9-4: 4.24 km...Wanted to take it slow today so as not to agitate anything (foam-rolled the sheet outta my leg the other day). Very hot, not a fun run at all. Slow paced, so slow it was on par with my c25k week 7 overall pacing which INCLUDES the 10 minute warmup/cooldown. Boo.
9-6: 5.45 km. My longest run yet! Pacing was much better than it has been in the last 2 weeks. First race is 2 weeks from today, looking good!
    9-10: 2.12...treadmill running. I don't know how I'm gonna stay motivated if I'm stuck on a treadmill.
9-11: 3.83 km. Treadmill running. Blech. On the plus side I completed my first week of student teaching!
    9-13: 5.52 km...new 5k best of 38:02!
    9-17: 2.53 km
    9-18: 2.37 km
    9-20: 5 km

First road race DONE! Goal was to run 37:30...35:55! I'm over the moon!

8.2 Mile run this evening. Longest run to date. Legs a littl sore near the end, but I found it suprisingly easy, Maybe because I am getting used to running faster in the week. I actually found it kind of enjoyable :)

    378km/400

10k yesterday, and more importantly marathon today

this morning it was the toughest mental effort I've ever done,I must change this attitude, didn't want to get out - I was a bit scared about the distance, but nothing to justify that mood

then, thanks and credit to....the Foo Fighters! at km n 6, running high and mental switch, and then enjoyed the 36km left

it's incredible how I felt depressed and I was complaining about everything 1 second, and focused, determined and happy a second after - at this point I wonder if my hormones are ok

the only real scare was something that happened to my foot at km n36, a nerve or something else made me to stop briefly as I suddenly couldn't put the foot on the ground - than I must have touched the right spot and all was ok

a very nice xxxx off to the parents/dog owners that found very funny when their kids/dogs almost made me fell down about 2435446 times - really was tempted to ask what was so funny, ok kids are kids, but no justifications for lose dogs

a nice experience overall, it is getting physically easier, but - 4 weeks to amsterdam so time to scale down a bit, will prob do 20 miles now

btw, I don't drink anything, today I run for about 4 hours, and not felt like drinking at all, anyone else like me (that obviously live in a warm place, ~18C today)?

and what is your opinion about "the wall"?

A BIG DAY. 7 km run ( ~45 mins ) with the Sunday Morning Running Club and then 10 km ( 66 mins ) on the Terry Fox Run to raise money for Cancer Research. 17 km total my new PR Daily max. It was a " Fun Run" so you stopped and chatted to the volunteers at the water stations, ran off the trail and into the Mall and had a "Bio Break" so I could have done 50-52 minutes if I had put my head down and went hard, which is really good for me - especially considering that this was a 2 run day.

    9/1 - 0 - 0 - 140 km goal
    9/3 - 6 km - 6 - 134 km to go
    9/4 - 6 km - 12 - 128 km to go
    9/7 - 7.4 km - 19.4 - 120.6 km to go
    9/12 - 11.4 km - 30.8 - 109.2 km to go
    9/13 - 6.5 km - 37.3 - 102.7 km to go
    9/14 - 6.8 km - 44.1 - 95.9 km to go
    9/16 - 8.2 km - 52.3 - 87.7 km to go
    9/18 - 10 km - 62.3 - 77.7 km to go
    9/19 - 6.8 km - 69.1 - 70.9 km to go
    9/20 – 17 km – 86.1 – 53.9 km to go

Congrats on the distance! And glad that nothing remained wrong with your foot!

Re: the wall: I think it's definitely real. But I think you can do things to avoid hitting it real hard with your fuel, mental strategy, etc. My last marathon what helped most was having my family there so I had checkpoints to run to and break up the distance, and my dad hopped in with me for 2 miles when I would have mentally bonked (mile 18-20). I'm hoping for my next marathon I can stave off the wall by playing mental games and distributing my nutrition more evenly throughout with a mix of dried fruit and gels, rather than eating gels every 4-5 miles and having sugar/carb ups and downs. I think that generally at some point your confidence crashes, and that contributes to a mental wall, and you just have to get your mojo back :)

Remembering that #IAmNotMadeOfSugar, and being inspired by the likes of @kristinegift, @Stoshew71, @7lenny7, @WhatMeRunning and countless others running half marathons, 20 milers, and marathons this weekend, I suited up and headed out into yet another rain and wind storm for my first 20 miler in more than a decade. Thanks everyone for the constant source of inspiration here!

Turns out I hit the sweet spot in the weather and had a great run around the city, Stanley Park, past cruise ships and back via Chinatown before the skies really opened up and the winds grew cold. Last three km are all up hill and I felt it, but for the other 30km felt very good.

@patrikc333 - congratulations on going 26.2! I don't have an opinion on 'the wall' as I have never hit it but I know others who have for various reasons, mostly related to fuel and hydration they felt. I am big on hydration and will either carry water with me or run where I know I can get some, even on shorter runs and especially when it is hot like it was today.
@mwyvr - excellent run! I love the pictures - so beautiful!!

I got out for a quick early run and was surprised by how unexpectedly warm it was at 7am. It did get to 104F today - much warmer than predicted. I kept it slow and managed my 4 miles, but my legs let me know towards the end that they were tired after the 10 yesterday.
Taking a rest day tomorrow. My daughter is flying in for just 2 days to be with our friend who had surgery, her 'grandma'.
