It is a little scary, emailed my oncologist just to be sure I didn't need to do anything special. Lots of fluids, vitamins, cold meds, and rest. Happy Halloween everyone.
I slept for over 11 hours last night. WOW I feel much better today but still resting until Sunday. My oncologist said to take care like I normally would and her being a fellow runner congratulated me on kicking *kitten* with my miles. Her running patients have always bounced back better than any others. That is so comforting to know.
So run a couple miles for me today and I'll check in on Nov. YAY, for the next challenge and addition of miles.0 -

@ShanazAsiya Highlight our name and hit control-C then hit control-V in the text box.
Just in case you don't know what that means...
At the bottom of your keyboard is a button labeled 'Ctrl' which is called the control button.
Holding down that button while you hit another button will do certain things.
Such as, control and c will copy whatever is highlighted into the clipboard.
Control V will paste whatever is in the clipboard.

It depends. Everyone is different.
Mind you, I was also an athlete in highschool (football and wrestling) and grew up on sports. Just never did the running thing unless it was because our coach made us do laps.
Years and years of assimilating into career and married life made me get lazy and overweight until I did something about it about 2 years ago.

@shanazasiya like @stoshew71 I'm a transplant from Jersey too. Born and raised in Northern but lived down the Shore my entire adult life until I moved here 8 years ago.
@stoshew71 I really wanted to run the HM course this weekend, but that's not happening. I'll need to at least drive it and check it out. I don't like surprises ha ha0 -

@9voice9 - have fun tomorrow! You are going to do great!0 -
I took an unplanned rest day yesterday since I've got a nasty cold and it was raining. I'm still not feeling so hot today but sucked it up and got in 14km. Funny enough it actually helped clear up some of the congestion. At the moment I'm 10km short of my October goal. Tomorrow is going to be a really busy day so I'll try and get it in before my son's 8am soccer game (which is an hour away).
Happy running everyone!0 -
@kristinegift you’re almost there for a 220-mile-month. Amazing!
@Ohhim i just don’t know how you’re able to do all this running (and biking), but will watch and learn
@Marissaxzxzxz congrats on completing your goal! well done!
@patrikc333 that incident with the car is really scary. something like that happened to me the other day and i was so worried.
@smithie092015 congrats on meeting your goal. way to go.
@skippygirlsmom amazing running for the month, and it’s not done yet!!
@karllundy i think getting back to the weight room is such a good choice. i need to do something like that! and, congrats on the mileage!
@7lenny7 good luck on your race tomorrow! let us know how it goes!
@Stoshew71 way over your goal, what a month, eh? Congrats. THANKS for posting the november challenge page.
@9voice9 good luck on your 10k race.
ShanazAsiya just put “@“ before the name as listed and that will highlight it!
on my run today, a woman was walking her dog and had him/her on a long leash. the dog sprinted towards me and caught my shorts briefly before she yanked him/her back. i was so mad at the woman. she saw me at least 50 yards away running in that direction and did nothing to control her dog, shorten the leash or something. and then, she was just laughing as it it was a cute thing. now i understand that she might “know” that her dog is not vicious and would not do anything to harm a runner, but, for real, how am i supposed to know that? and, did you hear of “sorry, my fault”?
10/1 4.75 -- I would like to do 6+ miles in the coming days, so, am resting tomorrow!
10/2 rest day
10/3 6.51 -- first 10k, longest run (time), and farthest run (distance)
10/4 rest day--this was a horrible day, could not get any exercise done and felt miserable
10/5 no running, but good elliptical workout
10/6 5.53 -- excellent run. the weather was cool and crisp, my muscles cooperated and all went well
10/7 3.11 -- recovery run? that's what i thought of this one. felt good though!
10/8 5.61 -- very good run.
10/9 3.11 -- a little over 9 minutes mile pace!
10/10 rest, the elliptical hour
10/11 5.00
10/12 rest, great elliptical session
10/13 6.52 — very nice run: farthest I went since i started running; fastest 10K (well, second and faster at 10:33 per mile.
10/14 3.2
10/15 3.37
10/16 no run today — good elliptical session though
10/17 2.25 — shake up run getting ready for my 5K race tomorrow
10/18 5.65 — I ran a 5K race in 25:49 (not a PR but very close to one, 25:19 three weeks ago). Pace was 8:16. But, and this is special, I did not feel satisfied and went for a 2.54 mile run!
10/19 rest from running, but a good elliptical workout
10/20 4 miles--very comfortable pace--10:30 a mile.
10/21 no run
10/22 no run
10/23 2.14 -- very short run, but so glad I managed to get it in
10/24 7.29 — farthest run 7.29 miles, fastest 10k 1:04, and longest run: 1 hour and 16 minutes.
10/25 3.12
10/27 4.50 -- upped monthly challenge to 80 miles
10/28 3.11
10/29 no run today, but good 50 minute elliptical!
