    12/1: 3 miles
    12/2: Rest
12/3: 6 miles with Thursday crew

I was only going to do 3, but I got suckered into doing the second 3 mile loop with my buds. I wore my thigh compression sleeve, so my hamstring didn't really bother me, and this is the first run I've done post-marathon during which my legs weren't saying, "But we're tired!" So recovery must be going in the right direction! I think I'll be able to run more next week with the sleeve on, and I'll keep doing my exercises. Hopefully by the time my "rest a day for each mile of the marathon" is over, I will be able to get back up to 35-40 miles per week. Fingers crossed!

Oh, and we had a Mizuno rep come and bring beer and raffled off arm warmers and a hat (neither of which I won, but the beer was good!). Two weeks from now, we're doing an Ugly Sweater/Holiday Party run, so I'm super excited for that :)

    5/1/16: New Jersey Marathon

Goal this month is 230 miles as I'm cutting back on my biking/swimming mileage. Starting slow though with two easy runs with a neighbor, and 4 miles of speedwork/hill repeats with a local triathlon club. Nothing uglier for the ego than doing a team workout and being smoked by an 11 year old on the 4th mile of hill repeats while running at a 6:45 pace.

    12/1 - 4 miles
    12/2 - 4 miles (hill repeats at a 7 pace)
    12/3 - 4 miles

    Total: 12 miles
    Goal: 230 miles
    Remaining: 218 miles

@karef - That is such great news! So relieved for you!!
    @hmaddpear, @ceciliaslater, @jkowalsk23 - welcome to the group!
@skippygirlsmom and @WhatMeRunning - thinking I can't pass up on a running and beer festival even if my husband has an issue with me racing 3 weekends in February :)
@ACSL3 - Nice shopping spree! Does your mom want to adopt me?1?
@kristinegift - Ugly Sweater/Holiday Party run sounds like great fun! Will there be beer there too?
@ohhim - wow that is a fast 11 year old! Yes, he smoked you but on the other hand consider how fast will he be when he is your age or if he will even still be running?

I finally had a quieter day at work with some time to really run and the weather is still nice so I took advantage of it. We had a hamstring/glute palooza at training tonight so I am glad I planned for a rest day tomorrow. I am hoping to run 12 miles on Saturday for my birthday run. We'll see if I actually get up and out there to get it done... I can sleep in on Sunday - right??

    Date..........Miles.........Total
    12/01.......4.20..........4.20 - + Strength Training
    12/02.......3.55..........7.75
    12/03.......6.81........14.56 - + Strength Training

    1/12: 7km Total: 7km of 100km
    3/12: 6.5km Total: 13.5km of 100km

My run last night truly sucked. Suck, sucky, major suckage.

It was cold, rainy, dark and annoyingly windy. I might as well have been a kite. I spent most of the run fighting to keep my cap from flying off and taking out any low flying pigeons conducting aerial surveillance as well as avoiding the cab drivers of my area who seemed to have come to some secret agreement to try and take me out at any given opportunity.

On a brighter note I didn't check my watch until I got home and noticed my average pace was within 1 second of my previous run. I am trying to train myself to have a more innate sense of pace and it seems to be working with my easy pace at least.

Also, it is fair to say my foot is fully recovered which is a blessing.

Well crud. I smacked my kneecap yesterday and it stung for a bit, but I didn't think much of it. Then overnight it got really stiff and hurts to bend, plus there's a little bit of swelling at the impact point. After moving around for a while it does not hurt while walking or doing a short run in place to test the legs out. But I just don't think I'm willing to risk a run on it since it is clearly hurt. Hopefully this is short lived.

A friend posted this on Facebook. It's supposed to find your beloved running shoe at the cheapest price. So I put in my Brooks Glycerin 12s, that my local running store no longer carries, along with my size. The site did manage to find me a pair at 2 different stores. As a side note, I think I spend too much money in my local Fleet Feet. I got a personally written thank you card in the mail from them the other day.

@skippygirlsmom - Sweet! I hope to achieve that sort of status someday.
@WhatMeRunning - Ouch! A little ice maybe? Good call not to push it.
    @KristineGift and @shanaber - Mmmm...running followed by beer

Mid-30s with a bit of wind--reminds me why I love running in fall and winter vs. summer, so much more comfortable when it's not humid and warm! Glad I'm committing to getting in some running before the snow comes.

@jkowalsk23 -running in the freshly falling snow is one of life's great pleasures. If anybody here has not yet had the chance to do it, I hope you get to experience it this winter!

@msf74 sorry to laugh at your expense, but you gotta admit the visual in my head is just too funny!

@karllundy love the fitness tracker. I can help you achieve that status at your local store, just buy me stuff  see simple!
@9voice9 I was hoping a gift card would fall out of the envelope, but no such luck.

Had to laugh at Skip last night, she's running indoor track and they are running in the school (seriously it's 45 get outside). Anyway last year some of you know she played soccer and was complaining about the coach making them practice at 8:00 pm in the 7F degree weather outside. So we are leaving T&F practice last night and the soccer team is out there having tryouts and it was chilly and she said "I'm going to stop complaining about indoor practice" and I just looked at her and she looked up at the sky and said "Thank you God for making me realize running and not soccer is my true passion" LOL She kills me!

@msf74 - sorry you had a bad run! Tell the pigeons to be appreciative that your cap didn't take them out and get them to deal with the cab drivers haha ;)

@WhatMeRunning - ouch! Hope your knee feels better soon!

@skippygirlsmom - thanks for the link, will check it out. I love Fleet Feet! My whole family shops there and they use my name (since I got the account first) so I get all the credit for the things they buy

Q: You run outdoors? In the winter? What if it snows?
    A: I leave footprints.

2015 was the first year I managed to stay healthy through the summer. I noticed that summer is the worst running weather all year, right when the most races are scheduled.

I need referral points on my account, that would be awesome.
