Oh! I guess we'll never be friends *cries*. I actually weigh in stones just because it's the most familiar but am happy with pounds and kilos too (and actually put pounds when noting a milestone for my international friends). I'm a multi-national multi-cultural multi-measurement sort!
Okay, quick sidebar if you'll permit what I'm sure is a very dumb question. What does your scale show? Kilos? Pounds? Or does it actually show stones? Sorry, I'm sure this is one of those questions half of you are laughing at, but least a few others are curious about as well, lol.
I think in metric, however I weigh in lbs (what kind of abbreviation is that!) because it is more granular ( 1 kg = 2.2 lbs). My scale (bought in the USA) can be set to show stones, kilos or pounds... SOME Americans are not insular0 -

I can pick but it has stones and pounds, just pounds or kilos.0 -

I still have no idea what a stone is but I got the metric system down!
I pledge not to immediately delete anyone on my FL who weighs themselves in stones. What kind of 19th century BS... *breathe*...
I record in pounds on MFP but do it in stones and pounds in my little notebook - Every time I lose a stone its a mega milestone and keeps me happy. It's just so much more satisfying than just pounds or kilos lol

I got another one: I will try not to cringe at all the girls in the blogilates forum that say something like "I need to eat clean", or "eat clean this, eat clean that". Lol. I learned that imo, clean eating is overrated (And learned it the hard way. It worked for 6 months until I lost weight too quickly, then my hunger signals went out of whack and I regained all the weight and then some). It's only now that I know when I'm hungry or not, but it's still a bit hard not to overconsume desserts, pastas, white breads, and the like. Not saying it doesn't work for weight loss, but it's not the ONLY way to lose weight.
I will also laugh at Freelee the Banana Girl and any of her crooks and nannies.0 -

Oh yeah... stay clear of clean eating threads too. And keto. But if you sent me a friend request then insist on switching to keto because it's apparently a miracle solution, it's fair game.0 -
Thanks. I feel supported.0 -
I resolve to continue to ignore those posters who enter a thread clearly aimed at vegans/vegetarians only to do their best to dismiss any validity of a vegan/vegetarian diet. This usually means they eventually resort to posting something along the lines of 'bacon tastes so good tho'. Also will ignore the way a person's decision not to financially support the cruelty involved in meat/dairy farming is apparently seen as a character weakness by some. On a lighter note, going to stop playing Soda Crush so much (poor little sweeties - sic) and will continue to weigh in stones/lbs because I prefer that and free to choose; stones/lbs display on my nearly-new digital UK bathroom scales with option for kg.0

I weigh every morning in stones and then I convert in my head and log in pounds ...@tincanonastring
@brightsideofpink it shows stones or kilos or pounds dependent on setting ...I like stones ...I know what 11 stone 6 is (160lbs) and I'm in maintenance so easy
I can't be doing with kilos though ..nasty things0 -

I resolve to continue to support vegans/vegetarians even though I am an omnivore

It just sounds so onerous and mathful. However, having pledged to respect you weirdos, I won't judge. Out loud. Anymore.0

No math (or maths to this Brit), the scale does it for me! Also on that, MFP shows stones but my Garmin app is in pounds, I like seeing both.0 -
People talking about conversions and notebooks...

Haha right? It needs to be simple (at a push with a calculator) and fast. Even just figuring out where I put down the damn pen would be too much effort.0 -
I will NOT assume that since this is the first time I've seen you at the gym and you look like you are trying to lose ALL your weight in one session on the elliptical machine that you are a new years resolution-er and in four weeks you will be a distant memory.0

Anyone brand new to running or cycling who starts now in Chicago is welcome -- most take the winter off. The gym, eh, I'm skipping for a couple of weeks.0 -

A stone is 14 pounds...I sometimes do the math and post it in the thread.
When I think of stones, I think of pebbles. 14 pounds isn't a pebble; it's a boulder (to me)!0 -
I will not get annoyed when someone says they can't eat 1200-1500 calories a day, unless they have a medical problem or sick. I start to wonder, how did they gain weight, hmmmmmmmmm0
-
I am defianetly going to loose wait by eating less calories. I hope to not go threw it alone. I can ketch up to all my MFP friends who are already loosing alot of wait.
No? ha ha ha. Sorry, I had to.
Actually, I probably could have written the OP myself because the "loose" has been really bugging me lately.

I normally skip the gym for a few weeks this time of year but recently got the New Rules of Lifting for Women from the library so am excited about trying new things.
Yesterday, I noticed a whole bunch of couples and am curious about how long that will last.0 -
I will continue to resist the urge to correct people who say they "fell off" or got back on "the bandwagon."
No, no, no. You fall off the wagon when you "resume any previously stopped behavior including smoking, drug use, overeating, or any other disavowed behavior."
You "jump on" the bandwagon when you "support something that is popular."
You cannot combine the two. Can. Not.
I find myself SMH (pronounced smuhuh, in my head at least) whenever I see this, and console myself with the thought that I've gotten almost, almost, immune to loose/lose.0 -

I will never understand why Anericans use feet and inches for height, yards and miles for distance but use pounds alone for weight (these are all the British Imperial system - maybe you dropped the stones so you could call them 'American' measurements?) Anyway I find it much easier to say I'm 5ft 9 and 9 stone 2 rather than giving the numbers in inches or pounds alone0 -

Beats me. I guess eventually I will remember how many inches are in one foot too, but it's like stones... it just doesn't register. Nevermind that I've been living in the US for over 13 years.
Metric system > all.0 -

As a counterpoint, I will try not to judge people who wail "I can't possibly eat 1200 calories, it's sooooo much food!" as 'disordered eaters'. I have a large appetite so it's hard to relate. #sorrynotsorry0 -

Here you go, if you can figure it out.
I don't like stones, though, although I'm sure it's just custom. I like grams vs. oz, but like that lbs are a smaller unit than kg, and stones are just too big to make sense for me for weight.0 -
I will probably still think less of people if they reply to an OP without reading the other replies.
Sorry, not sorry.
I'm sure your opinion of me must be in the gutter then @Orphia  because almost the only fun I now get out of foruming on MFP is thread bingo
read OP
answer
read up and see who I've agreed with, disagreed with and unconsciously insulted
since we are now devoid of any form of personality I must get my jollies somewhere
bitternotbitter
@rabbitjb That just shows how awesome you are, because I've never noticed that.
You always seem to come along and sum up the whole discussion perfectly as if you've read every post.
I really should resolve to stop being such a rabbitjb fangirl. It's only the fact that you believe in acupuncture that stops me from creating my own rabbitjb altar to worship at.0 -

You, know, what's; even worse? Not reading. The whole, original post, before; jumping in and, bashing prospective, commenters.
I got. real mad the other day when; i saw that in one thread.
"The blog of unnecessary quotation marks"....I'm a communications major, English minor, and i have thought about starting a blog like that, only with horrible grammar and not just quotes.0
