I had a self heart to heart..
It went like this...
Self: you are going to die if you dont finish your journey. Do you want to die? The whole just a "little wont hurt" ?!? hurt you for 20 god darn yrs. If you werent an addict maybe it would differant...
Self, Listen its you or everyone else. Who do you choose?!! If they say anything or make you feel bad for bringing your own food. Then you know. Self, you know you need to keep going and let them go. You are too effing fragile and are still forming.. Still learning how to walk.. To have any haters in your close close circle. Even if it's family Self? Everyone in this situation is smart. Everyone is over 300 lbs. everyone has their own journey. If it goes south? Well? Then you know that support for your new lifestyle isnt in their wheelhouse yet
When they are ready to join you? Help them
But self? Listen get your stuff packed, have your sweet but firm responses ready as to why you arent eating the corn bread and macaroni or sin chocolate cake and lets do this!!!
It might go okay? Self lets just see. Bring your food and hang out and see ❤️
My sisters jaw dropped when I broke out my salad. But she quickly closed it. Said nothing.
My dad only said please just try my potato clam chowder (i took a lick ) and that was it.
Strength achieved. One event at a time. My NSV.
Well done. This dialogue has to happen for those of use looking for a lifestyle change. And it will be a dialogue that is not only well-rehearsed, it's going to feel boring. So what, it's what we're doing FOREVER.7 -

I am going to have to start using a belt on my first "goal" jeans I remember when I couldn't even get them pulled all the way back up!!!!6

Holy moley batman, my goal jeans do up!! It's a tight fit and there's a substantial amount of muffintop going on, but wow. The annoying thing is that they're American jeans (Gap size 1) and I don't know how that converts to British sizes.11

I love reading this thread but finally have to post.
I went shopping for shorts. I was optimistic and grabbed sizes 12 and 14 to try on and... Had to go back for 10s! Ended with the 12s because of style but it was such a good feeling to decide based on which made my body look "better" versus which made look "the least terrible" - so happy!
Until recently it's been watching calories and long walks. This motivates me to stick with the CouchTo5K plan I just started!19 -

I went shopping this weekend, and ended up buying a pair of work pants in what I thought was my "goal" size. I am realizing that if I really take this weight loss seriously and go for the aesthetics I want (by exercising someday), I could go two sizes smaller.
Nonetheless, my butt looks great in those pants.7 -

Did an hour on the treadmill yesterday at mostly max incline, with running for the last ten minutes. At the end of the hour I felt strong so I ran another 2 miles without stopping. Wouldn't have ever imagined doing that 6 months ago, let alone 6 weeks ago. Felt great17

I walk about 3.5 miles a day at a park near my house. For the last few weeks I have started adding in some jogging to my walk. (That is an NSV in and of itself since I have always hated to run.) The other day I saw a friend of mine who takes her grand kids up to the park to play. After I was done running and was just walking with my dog she came by so the kids could pet Pup. She commented on how much weight I had lost and how good I was looking. She said it is really noticeable through here and she gestured at her stomach. That made me feel so good. I am definitely apple shaped and I feel like the weight has come off every where except my stomach so for someone (besides my husband) to say it is noticeable there really boosted my ego.13

My boyfriend was walking behind me as we were going up the stairs last night and he commented on how good my butt was looking!12

I started lifting heavy (for me) 3 weeks ago and significantly cut my running...making this runner mighty nervous. Then last week I ran 5 miles (fairly flat) at an average 8:54 pace!!! Previously I hovered between 9:35-9:45/mile. And this Saturday I did 5 miles with lots of big hills and averaged 8:58!
And I fit into most of my pre-baby size 4 jeans at nearly 8 mo post partum. So so excited!!!18 -

GO for it. C25K is awesome. I am a former couch potato, now on week 6, The first week (60second runs) was torture, but I ran 20 minutes this past weekend. Great feeling!!! I love the de-stress and the feeling of achievement - hoping one day to be a real runner as its such an inexpensive & accessible sport to get into!3 -
I noticed I've got a finger gap lol didn't even know these things existed. Looks like my fingers have lost weight aswell.8

Tomorrow is a colleague's retirement lunch and it's at my favourite all you can eat chinese buffet. As a pre-emptive move, I've pre-logged what I will eat. Let's hope I can stick to it. (Usually I can't and will binge eat by eating 1500 more calories than I should)

I visited my Dr today on a non-weight-related matter and she told me that I looked really good ... then added that it is quite rare for a Dr to say something to a patient about weight (as she did with me) and actually have them do something about it.13

*If you run you are a REAL RUNNER One thing about the running community is that even if it is your first time to run we already consider you a runner! Speed and distance do not matter. What matters is the courage it takes to get out that door. keep up the good work

I did a my longest single session workout today... and enjoyed it. Leslie Sansone miracle miles (5 mile)2

I FINALLY WEIGH LESS THAN MY BOYFRIEND!!
He's about 3 inches taller than me... and a man, but I was always the heavier one. NOT ANYMORE!!32 -
.... I guess that is sort of scale related.
Oh well!8 -

Oh well!
It's still a good feeling, though, huh? I've been about 5lbs less than my hubby for a few weeks now (he's 6', I'm 5'6"), and it's starting to annoy him - he's going to have to step up his game to catch me, now!
My own latest NSV is that the jeans I recently managed to fit into are not as snug as they were just a couple of weeks ago, so although my weight hasn't changed a lot things are apparently "shifting around".5 -

Well done! It is so difficult to resist! A colleague brought chocolate cake in to work today because it was her birthday but I just had my apple instead even though I'd had a tough morning. What a great feeling

I ditched the bra extender two weeks ago, have lost 3 1/2 inches off my waist and am able to walk up three flights of stairs without feeling like I'm going to die at the top like I did three months ago!13

Have fun! One of my goals was to reach the back of my closet (which I haven't done in at least 10 years!) and I have done it!! Having a new wardrobe is wonderful!!2 -

Everything I read said good well fitting shoes are a must so I waltzed right into the local running store. It was the first time in a long time I felt like a fish out of water. The store folks were great! I got awesome shoes and $12 socks...but nice $12 socks. So now I just finished my 2nd week of C25K and I'm loving it (and my $12 socks)!!!!7
