July Walking Challenge - Bring it on!

This is continued from previous Walking Challenges, but its nice when each month has its own thread. :laugh:
*** Anyone can join in at any time, the more the merrier, lets keep each other motivated****
Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you can't track distance (or don't want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you'll be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise your getting in.
Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long, this is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise everyday, and keep an eye on each other.
Make a ticker and keep it in your signature to remind you of your goal, and show everyone how well your doing. Go to this website.

Pick out your ticker pictures, set your miles or minutes, and your goal. Then copy all of the bbCode into your signature. It will look like this (but in your ticker...like mine) You use the url (from the bbCode) to update your ticker everyday (you can find this in your signature after you post the code there), just remember your pin.
Example of Tracking Miles - 1 mile everyday
Example of tracking Minutes - 30 min everyday
I want to try to keep this mostly to walking or walking type exercising. treadmills and ellipticals are A-OK. :laugh:

I just wanted to post these links again for the new comers Each one of these links is a mile walk. (or 12 min). With a total of 5 miles.
So if you aren't able to make it outside, (Because its summer and its :explode: HOT :explode: or don't have much time...12 minutes isn't asking a lot lol) then check them out to get in a quick walk.

Awesome challenge - I am in! I had decided I was going to spend June focusing on logging my foods eaten each day, now I am going to add getting activity in during July. This will be an easy beginning for me as I can walk at work on my breaks - maybe I can try walking the stairs!0

Count me in as well! I having been walking outside in the evenings with my family, however my treadmill belt is suppose to arrive this afternoon so I plan on putting many many miles on it this summer!0

Went over my 125 mile goal - actually ended with 144.5 miles = extra 19.5 miles I'll try to challenge myself this month by going for 145 miles - there is a whole extra day this month - right0

I hit my June goal - today (July 2) :laugh: I'm happy though because I doubled my goal midway. I'll make it a little lower (half between the two goals) for this month as it's setting out to be a scorcher. I'll probably get in more swimming and a little less walking.0

I made a walking ticker at the website, but could not figure how to get it here Not very experienced with this kind of stuff.
Maxy, when you make your ticker click next at the bottom of the page...
You come to a page which has your ticker details something like this:
www.tickerfactory.comexerciseticker...... etc
You have the choice of the bbcode or the html code. You want the bbcode.
Highlight and 'copy' then add to your signature by clicking on signature tab on your homepage.After you've added to your signature it should update automatically when you add mileage etc. Hope this works for you.0 -

I think I might try to track my miles instead of minutes this month, but not sure what to set my goal at yet. Also I tried to check out the youtube videos listed but they didn't work, it told me that the account was disabled?0

Lost track mid-way through June. Disappointing fresh start yesterday, only 3773 steps.
