Homemade protein shake
Ingredients
Soy Milk- 1 glass( cold)
Nonfat &Greek yoghurt- 1/2 cup
Medium banana- 2(frozen)
Apricots- 1/2 cup( fresh or dried)
Organic Honey- 2 tsps
Preparation
Blend them all together & serve it cold with a rind of lime or mint.

Gobi Manchurian
Ingredients
Corn Flour- 1 cup
Water- 2 cups.
Cauliflower florets- 1 big bowl.(boiled with salt)
Salt- To taste
Chilli powder- 1 tsp.
Turmeric- 1/2 tsp.
Onion- 1 big finely chopped
Spring onions- 10 finely chopped
Coriander- 1/4 bunch finely chopped
Green chillies- 5 finely chopped
Tomato sauce- 2 tbsp
Soy Sauce- 1 tsp
Oil- for deep frying
Preparation
Take a large bowl. Add corn flour & water & mix will without lumps, add the spices to it.Now add the florets to this & toss them well. Deep fry until golden brown, transfer them to kitchen towel on a plate & set it a side.
Now take a frying pan, add 2 tbsp of oil from the deep frying oil. Add the onions & spring onions, green chillies & saute it for 2 mins. Now add tomato sauce, soy sauce, 1/4 cup of water. Let it cook for a min. Now add the fried florets to this, toss them well. Transfer it to a serving bowl, garnish it with coriander & serve it hot with a dip .
Follow the same for paneer( cottage chesse) as well

Potato Stir Fry
Ingredients
Refined oil- 3 tbsp
Potatoes- 4( sliced)
Water- 2 cups
Salt- To taste
Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
Ground black pepper- 1 tsp( fresh)
Preparation
Heat a frying pan with oil. Frying in sliced potatoes, salt, turmeric for 2 mins, add water & let it cook until tender enough. Add pepper & toss it up. Turn of the flame. Serve it hot as side dish with your main course meal.

Broken Rice Upma
Ingredients
Broken Rice- 2 cups ( white)
Split pigeon peas- 1 cup( dry roasted)
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp( dry roasted)
Black pepper- 1 tsp( dry roasted)
Red chillies- 5
Salt- To taste
Water- 4 cups.
Mustard seeds- 1
Refined oil- 4 tbsps
Asafetida- 1 pinch
Preparation
Heat a pan, dry roast the cumin, pepper, split pigeon peas together, until the aroma comes. Cool this mixture. Coarsely ground this mixture in the blender. Set this a side.
Heat a pressure cooker with oil. Pop mustard seeds, red chillies, asafetida, add water, add the ground mixture & broken rice. Mix it well. Close the lid & don't put on the weight. Every 5 mins mix it well. Cook it for 15 mins & transfer it to your serving bowl. Serve it hot with a dip, if you like it or you can have it just like that.

Okra Fry
Ingredients
Okra- 1 big bowl( chopped)
Gram flour- 4 heaped tbsp
Salt- To taste
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Refined oil- for shallow fry.
Preparation
In a big bowl, add the okra, all spices, gram flour, sprinkle the water, mix it well together. Take some of it & shallow fry it. Transfer it to kitchen towel, until the excess the oil is strained. Serve it hot with a dip of your choice.
A good evening snack on a rainy day. Good for your brains.

Carrot Stir Fry/ Salad
Ingredients
Carrot- 5( grated)
Green chillies- 5( slited)
Salt- To Taste
Refined oil- 1 tbsp.
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Split chick peas- 1 tsp
Black gram- 1 tsp
Lime juice- 1 tsp.
Preparation
Heat a frying pan with oil. Pop the mustard seeds, chick peas, black gram, green chillies, salt & fry it for a min. Add the grated carrot, lime juice & toss it for a min & serve it as a salad or side dish.

Beetroot salad
Beetroot- 4 big( grated)
Peanuts- 1 cup( soaked overnight)
Lime juice- 1 tsp
Salt- To taste
Pepper- 1 tsp.
Coconut- 1 cup( grated)
Coriander- 1/4 bunch( finely chopped)
Preparation.
Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients together. Garnish it with coriander and serve it.

Cabbage Stir Fry
Ingredients
Cabbage- 1 medium ( shredded).
Refined oil- 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Black gram- 2 tsps
Salt- To taste
Green chillies- 4
Coconut- 1cup(grated, dry roasted)
Preparation
Heat a frying pan with oil. Pop the mustard & black gram.Fry in the chillies & cabbage. Add salt to it. Stir fry it for 10 mins. Until the cabbage is soft & tender. Now add the roasted coconut & mix well.Serve it well with the sambhar rice

Navrathan korma.( High in calories, Eat in moderation)
Best to do it on a FEASTING DAY
Ingredients
Onion paste- 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste- 2 tsps
Tomato puree/ paste- 2 cups
Almonds- 1/2 cup( soaked overnight).
Cashews- 1/2 cup( soaked overnight).
Hung yogurt- 1 cup( beaten)
Fresh cream- 1/2 cup(thick)
Coconut milk- 1 cup( thick)
Par Boil the below vegetables with salt
Carrots- 1 cup diced
Beans- 1 cup chopped ( 1 inch)
Cauliflower- 1 cup( florets)
Baby potatoes- 1 cup
Green Peas- 1 cup(fresh)
Chilli Powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- To taste
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Dried fenugreek leaves- 1 tsp( crushed).
Clarified Butter- 4 tbsps
Coriander- 1/4 bunch( finely chopped)
Lime juice- 1 tsp( optional)
Roasted nuts- 1 handful (optional)
Preparation.
Ground the almonds & then the cashews,
set it aside
Beat the hung curdcurd & set it aside.
Strain the water the par boiled vegetables & have the vegetable broth.
Take a heavy base bottom pan. Heat the clarified butter. Fry in the onion paste, ginger garlic paste until golden. Now add the tomato puree/ paste. Let it cook for 5 mins. Now pour in the almond paste, cashew paste, cook it for 2 mins. Pour in the beaten yoghurt, coconut milk & cook it for 2 mins. Add all the spices & stir well. Add the vegetable broth and let it cook for 5 mins Add the par boiled vegetables & let it cook for 10 mins. Add the fresh cream when the fat starts separating. Mix it slowly, cook it for 2 mins. Transfer it to a serving bowl & garnish it with coriander, dry roasted nuts.
Note: If your using lime. Add it towards the end & cook it for a min & transfer it to a serving bowl
Serve it with Naan, Chapathi, Parantha, Biryani

Tomato Soup(South Indian Style)
Ingredients
Clove- 4
Cinnamon- 1 inch( 2 sticks)
Onion- 1 cup(sliced)
Garlic Pods- 5(sliced)
Tomatoes- 5(squashed)
Green chillies- 4(slited)
Lime- 1 small
Refined Oil- 2 tbsp
Cooked pigeon peas- 1/2 cup in 4 cups waterwater
Coriander-1/4 bunch(finely chopped)
Preparation
Heat a pan with oil, fry the cloves & cinnamon, onions, garlic pods until golden. Now add the squashed tomatoes & chillies cook it until soft & tender. Now pour in the cooked pigeon peas water and cook in for 5 to 10 mins, squeeze the lime and cook in for another 2 mins. Transfer it to a serving bowl & garnish with coriander.Have it by mixing it in cooked rice with Papad.
This is my favorite dish. My moms best ever recipe.

Cucumber Salad
Ingredients
Cucumber- 4 cups (finely chopped)
Capsicum-1 cup( finely chopped, deseeded)
Tomato- 2 cups( finely chopped, deseeded)
Oilve Oil- 2 tbsps
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Black gram- 1 tsp
Split chick peas- 1 tsp
Coriander-1/4 bunch(finely chopped)
Peanuts- 1 cup( soaked overnight)
Lime- 1 small
Ingredients
Take a bowl add the chopped cucumber, tomatoes, capsicum, peanuts, coriander and mix well.
Now, take a frying pan heat the oil, pop the mustard, black gram & chick peas. Pour this mixture into the salad. Squash the lime into it & mix it well. Serve it normally or with tortillas.
Note: You can follow the same procedure with snake guard.
Shred the skin off with a knife, deseed it & then finely chop it.

There are many different ways. You can make dal
South Indian Dal
Ingredients
Split pigeon peas- 1 cup
Water- 3 cups
Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
Salt- To Taste
Red Chillies- 5
Oil- 2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp.
Preparation.
Pressure cook the pigeon peas with turmeric @ a low flame for 15 to 20 mins. Make sure, it is well cooked. Now add salt, mix well & transfer it to a serving bowl.
Take a frying pan. Heat it with oil, pop the mustard seeds & chillies. Pour this into the dal.
Have it with rice, Indian pickle rice, chapathis
