Grits~ When my son married, the colors were ivory and a aqua blue. Found a dress that was all those colors and MORE..hahaha...but I didn't outshine the bride, at least I hope I didn't.

Today's DD 18th Birthday Ordered the cake and a balloon bouque and will pick them up on our way to the restaurant this evening, so Party for 25 people is all set!!! My nerves are on edge today so maybe a glass of wine to start the evening off is in order.
DH has committed to a position so he will be employed again as of June 1st. After 12 weeks, I am feeling really blessed at the way things worked out. God is good Still working on the part where he'll be working from home though Since I'm self employed I took on more clients during DH layoff and my new clients are awesome people that will add some fun to my work. There will be trips up to Santa Monica, Laguna Beach, and San Francsisco! I see shopping in my furture
I feel like I'm coming back to life in some ways today. There has been so many chores (very long exhausting list) this year bringing me down and I feel like I'm in the home stretch with DD high school graduation, getting DS #2 off to Germany, then getting kids off to college and back to high school is all that is left : ) Oh yeah, and teaching last child to drive ha ha My ITALY trip in October with my sister is still on too
Weighed in this morning and I'm down 1.6lbs - woo hoo. Hope you ladies are doing okay. Sending prayers to all that need them.

Stressing out today!!! Starting this past Tuesday, husband is showing some symptoms of a liver rejection of some sort. He is jaundice, and some others not really appropriate to discuss, so this morning I talked with the transplant coordinator and she calmed me down. Took husband to do some bloodwork, and we shall go from there. It might just be an IV with some extra anti-rejection meds. Even his eyeballs are a yellowish color... Everyone if you have a moment, just send up a little thought, or prayer, much appreciated.

Y’all are making me feel guilty with all of the talk about colonoscopies. When I had mine at 50 it was clear, but my grandfather died from colon cancer so I’m supposed to be on the five year plan. I’m 56 ½ and haven’t had another one done. *sigh* I resolve to call my doctor and get the appropriate referral and find out how much my insurance will pay.
If it makes you feel any better, I have never had one... nor a mammogram.
My excuse so far has been that I was a little busy with ortho surgeries..and no one in my family has had either issue.
I did promise my GP I'd start getting mammograms soon.

Had to post the pics separately as my tablet is running out of memory.
We had a lovely day. Spent the whole journey home talking about the grandchildren. It is especially wonderful for DH as he is their step grandad, but they absolutely adore him. And he adores them. He is a natural genius with children that age and it is a pleasure and a privilege to watch him play with them. Just occasionally I catch DDIL's eye as we observe the special nature of their relationship and we share a moment of total appreciation. And awe, to be frank.
They are off on holiday on Saturday and I just hope that aeroplane carries them all safely.
Peach/Carol - Your beautiful granddaughter looks just like you!
Becca - Hugs and healing thoughts coming your way! Let's hope they can get it under control soonest. (((HUGS))) ******
Rosie - Happy your DH is settled.
Thoughts are with you, Joyce. For tomorrow. LOVE YOU.
Came in a bit over calories today, but not over maintenance. Hooray! My brother is coming for lunch tomorrow. Got to get stuff out of the freezer.

Becca – I doubt you ‘outshined’ the bride. Aqua blue is a color that a lot of Mothers of the Bride/Groom wear. I’m talking more like ‘garish’ such as day-glow orange (prison orange).
Larisa – If you aren’t having mammograms done on a regular basis; sure hope you are doing self-breast exams); that is how most cancers are found.
DDnL#1 is now without a job; something happened at work, where a salesman wanted her to 'approve' a job that she had not seen. She went to her boss, who was apparently having a bad day because he yelled at her. She then asked if she could take her lunch hour at that point. He told her 'NO'. She asked him again, and he told her 'if she walked out, not to come back' ... so she walked out and swears she will NEVER go back, she'd rather flips burgers instead. She took a resume to a place here and then went into town to a place that helps people get jobs and gave them all her information and resume. Now she's got to find her SS card for that info. We have a SSA office in town, it just means she will have to get there early and wait. Then she might have to wait to get it in the mail. She said that she put all their SS cards in an envelope and now can't find it. Thinks that maybe it is in a purse somewhere. She's hoping to find a job with benefits. They certainly need them. Wonder if she can apply for 'unemployment benefits'?

Becca: Praying for your DH and your whole family.
Heather: You and Bea make a beautiful picture. Your DH is a wonderful Grandpa. He has a gift with children. You're lucky to have found one another. :flowerforyou:
We got a few chores done around the house today. I transplanted two hardy gardenia plants from large pots directly into the garden beside our front walk. I hope they'll thrive. Getting them out of the pots will be good, I think. They were in the pots because I could take them inside the garage if we had a cold snap. The past couple of winters have been remarkably mild so I'm taking the risk of planting them. If we have a real icebox next winter and they freeze, I'll start over. I'm not actually worried that it will come to that. Global warming seems very real these days for better or worse.
One of our new neighbors stopped by to thank me for the hummingbird feeder I bought for their young daughter. I could tell that it made them feel welcome & it was the right thing to do. I often think of nice things to do for people and fail to follow through. This time I followed through and I'm pleased.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening Ladies,
Karen, what a nice tradition the director as started. Congrats to you and DD on her graduation.
Janetr, so sorry for Jack’s problems. I do hope the injection will help. It really gets old living with pain.
Barb, great going on increasing your walking. It’s so nice that your DH is in it with you. Keep up the good work.
Sherylk, welcome. Please tell us a bit more about yourself to help us get to know you. Also we ask that you sign each post with the name you want to be called and a location, general or specific. This is a great place for support and information so come often and join right in.
Karen, thanks for the kind words. I hate it when I just don’t have time to find emoji’s and post with almost none. Everyone does seem to enjoy them and they brighten my day. Some days I only have time to read quickly and make a hasty post and run.
Margaret, I love ajuga and the picture is beautiful. We had it when we lived in Milwaukee and moved some from house to house until we moved back south.
Marcelyn, I am impressed that you are taking up the cello. I’m not musical at all and think it’s wonderful that people can play instruments. (I couldn’t find a cello.)
Joyce, sorry the day didn’t work out well. When people don’t stick to a schedule it screws things up for everyone else involved. At least you had a nice dinner. That was sweet of Charlie to dedicate the song to you!
Gloria, it was so good to hear from you. I’m glad things are slowly getting taken care of. I love your new picture. I wish you could come see us more often. ((((Hugs))))
CarolNC, does your pcp not flag it when it’s time for things like a mammogram or colonoscopy? Gosh mine sure does. I have a bone density test scheculed at his office and when I went for my mammogram the other day I figured out that I could have had them both done at the same time. The very helpful lady called my doc’s office to see if he would fax the referral for the bone density and he wouldn’t. That doesn’t make me real happy with my doctor. I should have the choice to do tests at any location I chose. Is that not right?
Becca, I hope your DH can be improved with some meds. That would worry me too and I am not much of a worrier. Sending prayers your way.
CarolGA, your DGD is a doll. They do grow up way too fast.
Heather, I love, love , love the pictures. Sure wish I could sit there beside you and Bea watching your DH play with the other grands. What fun!
to any Newbies that I missed. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
Had a long board meeting for the HOA this afternoon. For some reason I’m tired and will go to bed early. Today I got out a few things for the garage sale and need to get serious about it tomorrow. I have a nail appointment at noon so hope I can get some work done before that.I hope all of you have a healthy and happy day.

I have been thoughtfully been reading your posts all day long just loving every one of you. Everyone is so different but yet the same. Yes, surgery 1 PM tomorrow. He did not approve of his clear liquids at all until I convinced him to drink some warm broth and then he had 2 cups of that. So I have a bowl of cherry jello in my fridge that I don't want and neither does he. Daughter should be driving up any moment. We will face time with the grand kids tomorrow morning.
Becca, so sorry about your hubby.

Thanks, Janet, Jack says he thinks it is feeling better already and the doctor told him it might be several days to a week before he would realize the full benefit, so hopefully this will be a big help.

Hi gals,
Gloria in WA – glad to see you… when I did not have internet, I found that I could use the wifi at Starbucks, I had to have a Starbucks card so I put $5 on one, and then just hung out and used the wifi… but I had my own laptop and I am not sure if you have a laptop or if you are using the computer at the Library too.
Miriam – glad you are lurking, sending ((((hugs))))) congrats on the first of the many (hopefully) graduations
Becca – sending good thoughts
Larissa – where is the boot???? Get those base lines done!
Heather – great pictures! Cute umbrella and while this is not what I was supposed to notice but DH has a cute bum.
Joyce thinking of you now and both of you tomorrow…. I am glad that you got DH to try some broth as jello and coke did not sound good to me.
Well my garden club had a big party yesterday, I made a bunch of biscotti for it, had left overs so am bringing them to another garden club event tomorrow – the goal is none hanging about…. I do love them.
My arm/shoulder has still not gotten better, I was getting worried as it had been 2-3 months – but my insurance has a $1,000 deductible and co-pay so a dr. appointment would be all on me, I checked in with a friend that is a Dr. of physical therapy and so she checked me out and says rest! How the h e double toothpicks am I going to rest? But I will try to take it easier on that side…. And ice – now ICE I can do – LOL
Smiles.
