Hello Fantastic Females!
This whole shooting incident has every one a little freaked out… I just wish I thought we have seen the last of this type of thing, but, I suspect we haven’t. Everybody pray, think good thoughts or cross your fingers for things to cool down. I am with whoever said that ALL lives matter. Everyone who died was a person with hopes, dreams, achievements and families… it’s horrible. There are plenty of things to hate in this world – ugly shoes, temperatures over 100 with humidity to match – we really need to stop hating each other. (*tucks soap box back under the couch*)
Vickie/NE – sorry you are having troubles with your DD. Good luck with unearthing your desk. I do hope you can shake the blues without the change in meds…
Janet – stay strong… Don’t let your long-term, hard-earned success be blown by a momentary craving.
Lenora – those potatoes do sound good – and the potato is the most maligned of the carb world… they are the lowest in carbs of any of the starches – and before you do things like brush oil over them or bury them in cheese, they are quite low in calories. I am sure the recipe generator is up to the task of calculating for you. **I sent the crockpot recipes to you in MFP – but, I am not convinced that the delivery system is working – so please, if you have not got them in your messages, right now – message me and give me your e-mail. I will be happy to send them there.
Karen/VA – my hubby ALWAYS patted my leg – even at 367 lbs. he never made me feel less than desirable. Who could ask for more than that? I hope you enjoy to Grandbaby’s performance. I didn’t know they had “acting camps.”
Rita/CT – sorry about the unemployment stress. Been there, done that. I had some savings, thankfully, but, having burned through it all during a 6 month gap in employment, I live in fear of being laid off, now. Good luck! And good luck on getting that walk in…

Joyce/IN – Five days… now that’s more like it. And everything is easier after a good night’s sleep. Ahhhh.
Sue – Glad you had fun with the DGD. Sorry about losing your stylist. My hair has never been “right” since I moved to TX and left my stylist behind….. hope you have better luck.
Pip – I suppose a calorie burn of under 500 calories is the closest you will come to relaxing… lol. Enjoy it, ya slacker.
Becca – Water Aerobics sound divine…
Rosie – sounds like a tough day. Relax, get some rest, and try again, tomorrow.
Mary – you are a model for the rest of us... such a workout after a long trip.
Michele – the problem I have always had in the past was my cardio was working out my back – and I was unbalanced because I never did any ab work. Trust me, I am not, not, NOT into pain. And I will never believe that one cookie could make you gain even a half a pound. I am sure it’s just the usual water retention. Breathe deep. Hope your official weigh in goes your way.
DJ – Fresh Produce is like gold bars down here. I would have gone to get it, too. Besides.. peaches… mmmmm.
Barbie – DH is pretty fabulous. I decided to keep him some years back… lol.

Rori – After work exercise just ain’t gonna happen for me… and now, it’s just part of my morning routine… Going to the gym – conveniently located about five minutes from my house – is not a question… it’s just a question of how many sets of crunches I will do, or how long I will spend on the elliptical. Barring injury or acts of God, I believe it’s the best habit I will never break.
Margaret – glad you changed your mind and that you fully recovered. Just think of all the things you would have missed… ((HUGS))

Lisa – gas stoves really help when those storms roll thru… glad you guys got all tucked in and that you are “legal” now. And didn’t you just say that your DH would be large and in charge right away? You do know your man. Glad you guys are doing well, adventures and all.

Betty – thanks for the info on the training. Working for a bank, I get to take a class every year… and yes, first, get away from the area, and if you can’t safely get away, then find cover and hide. AND if you do run into law enforcement during this type of incident – raise your EMPTY hands, keep them clearly visible and follow all instructions! Do not offer any movements that could be misconstrued by a busy officer trying to find and stop the shooter… like going for ID or a cell phone. Just go where they tell you and stay out of the way.

Today, I am reworking a less than stellar pot of mango pork… Alas, if the mangos are not properly ripe and sweet, it doesn’t really taste like much. So, rather than have a second night of “blah” dinner, I am going to fish out the pork and the potatoes and see if I can’t make some nice tacos… A little salsa, some onions and cheese… I think it will work. In any event, if it’s blah, at least it won’t be the same blah as last night. DH doesn’t mind eating the same thing twice… but only if it’s GOOD the first time… lol

Oh my, I miss a couple of days and I come back to over 200 posts! Then, I got so caught up in reading posts that I did not take notes. So I’ll just say hello to all, hugs to those who need them, and high five to those who are celebrating.
No time to post much today. Hoping for a good night’s sleep tonight. Tomorrow I run my first ever 5K. I promised my daughters a year ago that I would run the color run with them this year and tomorrow is the day.

Aww thank you! I had a pretty good day. I've gotten a little extra sleep the last couple days, that has gone a long way. My weight is up, darnit! But I'm doing all the things, so I'm going to give it the full two weeks before I panic. And I really do look closer to 195 than 205, so I'm trying to be gentle with myself. *sigh
Since you all were so nice about my last photo, here's one I took this morning. (umm, I wear red a lot ) The pockets in this dress flare out and make my hips look bigger than they are...but, hey, pockets!
Also, that's my trusty cane I take with me when I walk around outside. I'm up to two miles a day. There's a noticeable limp, still, but it's gradually getting better.

Re- I like to eat too much not to work out. During the summer there are a lot of treats around that I don't usually have in the winter.

Glo - I think Vince enjoys taking care of the pool. But he really won't admit to it. He likes to play "mad scientist", testing the water, putting the right chemicals in it. I just wish he'd use it more but he really doesn't like to be out in the sun whereas I love it.
Karen in VA - I would say that Bryan's "therapist" ambushed me. Well, what's done is done.

Hi Gals,
So the details, I will be gardening 600 hours a year – that is 2 weeks off and 12 hours each of the other weeks, but in the winter it will be less per week and in the spring and fall more per week. The title is head gardener (but there is no other gardener at all) – so the “head” part is just marketing… It is about ¾ of an acre in organic garden, about ½ of an acre in edibles the rest is a pond, chicken coop, large potting shed, patio for classes, and a green house. There are 6 chickens, which I will help with. The edibles are something for all times of the year – herbs, annuals, a small berry patch and an orchard. It is located within a children’s camp. If you google images for Camp Arroyo – you’ll see the camp, no pictures of the garden but it is a beautiful spot in the rolling hills just outside the city. The garden is mostly for the kids to be exposed to the fact that food comes from plants, they also help with the compost of the cafeteria scraps. Excess edibles go to the kitchen and the kids and/or staff get to eat very locally. The garden was just a fenced off plot 13 years ago when my now retiring friend took it over; and now it is beautiful with raised beds, a solar powered pond, a cooling station with overhead misters - so I get to take it to the next level - I want to add more herbs, some citrus and grapes, lavender and convert one of the flower areas into just California natives…
This will make my schedule much more structured between my 2 gardening clients which are 6 hours a week, that makes 18 hours of gardening each week (about) and 25-30 + hours of embroidery each week – and 15 hours (about) of teaching cooking a month… This will affect my time with you all, but will hopefully address one of my 2016 goals, which is to be in less debt at 12/31/16 than I was on 1/1/16 - And I will be paid for exercising!!!!!!!!!! As gardening is good exercise and the garden plot is on a slope so it is quite a walk from the top to the bottom of the garden.
For the next 3 weeks I am watering a friend’s veggie garden she has 6 4x8 beds in a community garden and she’s on a garden tour in England… And it is full of veggies ready for harvest. Yummy!!! Cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, kale, lettuce, strawberries, blackberries… I think she’ll pay me too, but just not having to go to the market is great!
I won’t start until July 18th… but if I am more erratic in my posting please know you all will be in my thoughts!

Oh My goodness!!! If you are the head gardener - can I put my application in to be your assistant? I don't think it is a "job" for you - you sound so excited - it will not be a "job" at all.
