Yes, Pumpkin culture, is very American (not that all Americans like Pumpkin of course). I'm American but live in Germany and had a Halloween party one year. I made pumpkin EVERYTHING. The people were afraid to even try it. (I understood, lol.) My husband who is German LOVES my baking, but it took him time to warm up to the pumpkin pie. He does like it, but he was traumatized as a kid because the only time he ever had pumpkin, it came picked in jars. (Yuck) My kids are half German half American. They love pumpkin pie. That's all that matters to me. That they got the pumpkin appreciation gene.7 -

Ahh, I love pumpkin spice season! Kicks off my absolute favorite stretch of the year (fall through Christmas). I have a Trader Joe's about 15 min from my house, yet somehow never knew or thought to check out whether they had lots of pumpkin stuff!! Now I'm so excited to check it out!2

I am kind of a sucker for pumpkin spice anything, and I try everything I see. The only thing I have not liked (so far) is the Quest bars and chewing gum. I love the coffemate, and the coffee. I am looking forward to the Cheerios and will be in line to buy them. It says they are made with pumpkin puree. The donuts (both Krispy Kreme & Entenmann's) both look amazing. There was a pumpkin spice fluff recipe here the first year I was on MFP (2012) it is delicious. I make it all year round. Just Cool Whip, a can of pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice. The recipe says to use it as a dip for ginger snaps or graham crackers. I eat it with a spoon.3

I wonder if the pumpkin spice Thomas English muffins will be back this year? They made a nice treat with a smear of cream cheese and didn't break the calorie budget.5

You must try this recipe, but for best results update *kitten* follows -
1) *most important* make your own purée from fresh pumpkin. Trust me, canned just gives you a boring, flat flavor.
2) add some broth to your onions mixture, maybe 1/3 of total amount. Then put in blender and liquefy until no onion chuck remain. Then transfer back to sauce pan add remaining broth and continue per instructions. This creates a creamier soup with no lumps.
3) cut out the salt and pepper and add more spices. Particularly pumpkin spice, but cinnamon, more nutmeg, clove, all spice all work well. I also add more brown sugar to taste.
**dont worry about the heavy cream, there is so much other healthy stuff in this dish that it is still low cal**
I can't tell you how many people I have fed this too that were skeptical, and ended up coming back for seconds, thirds and more.

Pumpkin stuff isn't big here (Australia) either. Except for pumpkin scones (a classic from the 70s) and pumpkin soup. And I suppose the odd roast pumpkin, feta etc salad.
I don't think we get any pumpkin spice coffees etc... though I don't drink flavoured coffee, so maybe it's out there and I've ignored it.0 -

Costa is a british coffee shop, the blackforrest hot chocolates are amazing, check out the Monin coffee syrups (probably cheapest from amazon in blackforrest or blackberry and cherry flavour, that's what they use0 -

Here's an awesome pumpkin cookie recipe (calories per serving: don't ask):
PUMPKIN COOKIES
INGREDIENTS:
2 ½ cups flour
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice)
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
¾ cup butter
1 egg
1 cup pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup raisins
½ cup walnuts
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Combine dry ingredients except sugars.
In a separate bowl, beat sugars and butter to a grainy paste.
Add egg, pumpkin, and vanilla.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Add flour mixture, raisins, and walnuts.
Blend until combined.
Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 22-25 minutes or until slightly brown.
Transfer to a cool surface.
YEILD: About 3 dozen

Flavorgod.com has a pumpkin pie seasoning that is YUMMY! I put a couple shakes of it in my oatmeal in the mornings. Either that or the gingerbread cookie seasoning (but I'm currently OUT of that flavor )1

Well, they are here, and I bought some this morning and had them for breakfast. 3/4 cup 110 calories. I didn't think they were real pumpkin-y, but I liked them.1

Love pumpkin! I add Libby's pure pumpkin to my chili to thicken it, sweeten it and add fiber to the recipe.2

Cereal wise, I'm more pumped for pumpkin spice Mini Wheats. Those were soo good last year.
I'm going to make sure to pick up pumpkin spice Oreos. Pumpkin Pie Pop Tarts are good, but those are available at the 99cent Store half the year, no need to rush.0 -

I had some of the Jiff whipped pumpkin spice PB last year and it was AMAZING.
I can't wait for Trader Joe's pumkin spice macarons, whipped pumpkin spice PB, pumkin spice english muffins... and of course I'm looking forward to the Starbucks PSL and pumkin loaf.1 -
I want more gluten free pumpkin spice options! I always have to make my own pumpkin spice stuff, or I miss out otherwise. It'd be nice to be able to eat some of this stuff. Are the Cheerios gluten free, at least?0
