Hi...I have done this challenge before but it sounds good so I'm in!
My goal will also be 120 walking miles3 -
I'm in again - logging those '350 plus cals burn' days, those with 'at least 30 mins plus' of excercise and as few 'nothing' days as poss. Hoping to get those endorphins going / calories burned on atleast half of the month....2

I'm back in again (and thanks for the title change to encompass more options!!).
Goals - 50 miles walking or home machine; 25 miles Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)
Here's hoping I can get all my SUP miles in this month since I should start the fall racing season in October.1 -
Hello! Please count me in!
Goal is 200 miles using elliptical or stationary bike.3 -
Hi all count me my goal is 150 miles3
-
So, I am not going to reach my goal for August (Jeannie, I can't even blame a faulty pedometer/fitbit!) I am going to try again in Sept for 210 miles. I am hoping the weather will be cooler which will make it easier to squeeze in an evening walk!3
-
Back for September. Thanks to this challenge in August, My average walking steps were up by 3k a day. I blew my walking goal out of the water. However, my body is exhausted. So some new goals, hopefully they won't be too crazy.
My goals are:
10k steps a day
2 crossfit days (15 min or more)
2 yoga days (15 min or more)
I have yet to do any cross fit, but I wan't to increase my over all health and prevent muscle loss. The cross fit days are going to be a super big challenge for me.
Good luck everyone!3 -
I'm in. My Fitbit is all wonky right now but I'm hoping to get another one soon. So! I'm going to go for 100 miles this month. (eek!)2
-
I've never done a challenge on here before. I'm excited! I recently bought a bike and wow it's been a while since I've been on one. I rode it today 7 blocks and walked on the treadmill for 1hr.4
-
I'd like to join (first timer here)!
I will reach for the magic 10,000 a day. Either in steps or rower (meters) or a combination.4 -
Hi all! This sounds like a great challenge and I can definitely use the motivation. I'm down for logging 100 miles.4
-
How do you join the challenge?0
-
Welcome to all the newbies and welcome back everyone else!4
-
I'm in. I hit 130 miles in August and had a couple of off days, so my goal for September will be 140 miles!3
-
Hey - welcome to all the 'newbees'!
Particularly glad to see another bike rider. Ms2myheart.... Just build it up gently, as it uses muscles you may not have thought about for a while ! Do you have some nice parks or riverside paths nearby?
And good to see the old familiars too...

yes..YES WELCOME too all our new comers! Someone told me once that calling the new comers 'newbies' made them feel out of place. I WAS A 'NEWBIE' at one point and it did not bother me. I am just EVER SO HAPPY that each of you come too help motivate ME. I am 63 years old and need all the motivation I can get! I met my goal last month with 120.80 miles. I will not go for more than that in Sept since we have ONE LESS DAY! LOL but I WILL strive too do as many as possible. Sure will be happy when My Exercise Bike is fixed! Husband not had time too look at it. It makes loud noises! lol SO until then it is walking with the old feet...
rccsinger you can and WILL do better this month! I am sure of it! ACTUALLY I've been having problems with mine for several months. I finally just quit wearing it because I knew the 3 walks I do from my home. I know the exact miles on that although I realize the steps may differ a bit here and there but I used my old logs. I did use my pedometer when we went camping but have no idea if it was correct. I just logged what it although I walked several miles one day and it only gave me .98 of a mile. THAT is when I said I had enough and was getting a new one....5 -
For those of you having challenges with your electronic devices/pedometers, you may want to try this site to help you measure your distance - http://www.geodistance.com/ . You can either snap to roads or turn off that option (which I use to measure my on water distance or when I'm walking on trails instead of roads). It's not perfect, but it should provide a pretty good ballpark estimate of your distance.1

I'm in. Newbie here. I don't count my steps I'm just going to walk for an hour every day. I like to split it up in a few walks per day to total minimum of one hour.4

And did you pick up that I am becoming a dog owner this month Jeannie?! A puppy so it will be a while before he gets us walking more...(in fact right now I'm wondering if I will get my swims in at all this month).2 -
WELCOME Michchipp! We have a great group for Motivation here!
LOL gentlygently. When I got my 1st dog she was 8 weeks old. She started walking with me right then. Within a couple of months she was walking the whole 5 miles with me. NOW she is 9 years old. She walks 2-3 miles a day with me BUT dogs legs are shorter so I'm guessing that is more miles for her than ME. WHAT KIND of dog are you getting?
September 1st.....2 separate walks today.......3.0 Doggie walk & 4.0 Slower walk by myself....
TOTAL Sept 1st..................7.0 Walking Miles...2 -

The minute I can start exercising again, I'll be logging here. And actually I did manage about a 1 km walk today to and from the bus (0.5 km each way) when I went to get bloodwork done ... but that exhausted me so much, I took a 2-hour nap when I got home.1
-
