Hi, I'm new here, but I do have an nsv. I've only lost 10 lbs so far but I'm picking up steam using mfp. It's wonderful. The nsv is that at my visit to my endocrinologist, who is helping me manage PCOS, all my numbers (blood sugar, thyroid, blood pressure, etc etc) are normal or great except my free insulin and cholesterol ratio, which comes with pcos and the resultant insulin resistance. Those numbers are still slightly elevated, but they have improved by a good margin in the last 6 months. This shows that I'm progressing, and gaining health with my added fitness and lifestyle changes. I'm on the right track and doing the right things even though the weight-loss is slow for me. That's a big deal.32

NSV for today: Today is carry in day at work, and by what I've heard they have some woooonderful stuff back there. But I don't need it. Actually have no desire to go back there at all16

Well I can just walk into a store and pick up a SMALL shirt now, as evidenced by my trip to two diff stores yesterday!!....I have been whining about my arms in most posts that I've submitted on MFP so this is quite the accomplishment for me. LOL! :-) My waist and lower body have BEEN small..just goes to show that your body loses from where it WANTS to lose, when it wants to lose it!!19

I hadn't driven my truck in about 3 weeks. Hopped in today and could barely reach the pedals! Apparently my built in booster seat has shrunk a bit.26

I actually didn't drink a Margarita my neighbors gave me! I sipped it and put it in the fridge. I said no to free alcohol! (the calorie content was the major reason, but still, total NSV.20

I haven't seen the scale or the tape measure move much at all, but today during CrossTread class, my instructor told me I look like my body has changed and that I have dropped some weight since I started her class 3 months ago. I'll take it!15

I was feeling bummed the last few weeks because after losing over 20 pounds I still didn't feel like my jeans fit any differently and I've been wanting to go down a jean size. Well today just for kicks I decided to pull all my old jeans out of my closet and try them on. They all fit perfectly!!! Most of these jeans were a size smaller and some were even two! When my fiancé got home and I excitedly told him I can now wear all the jeans in my closet again even the ones that wouldn't go above my thighs 6 months ago he told me he was glad because now I would quit wearing the baggy ones I had been rotating between! (The best part about it is most of these jeans are from high school and they fit so good! Even though I still weigh 15 pounds more than my high school weight!)23

Had to go a funeral today, and at the wake afterwards, the buffet was all sandwiches, quiches, sausage rolls, chips (french fries to you folk in the US), and huge, glorious looking cakes for dessert. I ate 3 quarters of a sandwich, small slice of quiche, 3 cocktail sausages and a black coffee for dessert. Ended the day 75 calories under target as I was careful at dinner once I got home. I never usually can resist those kind of savouries - or the cakes,
Getting there.....oh, and the black trousers I bought in July are too loose, spent a lot of the day hitching them up!26 -
Today I had a job interview at a bank and was panicking on what I should wear. A lot of my clothes have gotten too small for me from gaining weight so I wasn't sure what I had. Well I've lost 22 lbs or so and I decided, okay this shirt maybe will fit, let's try it on.
And it fit BEAUTIFULLY.
I had a lovely shirt to wear for my interview and I felt like I looked confident and presentable. I still have so much more to do and more to lose but I'm very happy with the idea of shopping in my closet soon.28 -
I did 40 incline bar push-ups, went to the gym every day this week, stayed on track calorie wise, and even though I got out of the gym late, still went to store instead of drive-thru. Dr visit was this week and my BP was down 10 points and she was extremely happy with the choices I have made the last 6 weeks. A week chock full of NSV's21

I have officially moved down from obesity class 3 to obesity class 2! Here I come class 1!!!38

babybear_mt wrote: »Ya know that stretch where you go from a runners lunge to having your inside arm go straight up and you look up that direction too? (If that makes ANY sense lol!!!)
i so know that stretch. because for the past month my squats have been completely stopped by what i thought was horrible hip and groin pain and what felt like a real injury waiting to happen if it hadn't happened already in my hip joints. i completely quit squatting two weeks ago and i spent a week trying to get my hips to track cleanly again by going for everything that was tender - glutes, tfl, i.t. band, the whole bit. still couldn't squat. my form was just gone.
and then i remembered: the victim screams, the culprit is silent. went inside my pelvic bones with a styrofoam ball and checked out my psoas and iliopsoas instead. 30 sweaty sweary talk-to-dead-relatives minutes dealing with trigger points in those muscle groups . . . and i fixed 85% of what's ailing my hips on the spot. and that first-baseman stretch you were talking about? that got about 10% more.
it's still early days. some of it came back overnight while i slept. but i did 100 air squats before bedtime last night and only have minimal doms. so i'm hopeful again.8 -

As the saying goes, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Great job motivating your folks!
And THANK YOU to all who post here - your stories are truly inspiring!
My NSV - just got back from a mini-vacation to Gatlinburg TN. Did some hiking in the Smoky Mountains, logged all my food (even if I did go off plan), and got right back with the program when I got home. I'm building a lifestyle - not a diet - and it's working!

I fitted into EU size 36 trousers (US 6, UK 8). I was totally amazed, but they fit like a glove! Too bad that I loath rhinestones on my jeans so I did not buy them but still that was a major achievement I fit another size down in a blouse! Mind you a skinny fit pair of trousers was not going to fit even two size up
Now I am only 1.60m (about 5ft2) so that is about the size I should be. Still I was a little bit overwhelmed by knowing what I achieved15 -
This is too funny, a colleague at work approached me in the toilets (not like THAT) and asked me how I'd lost so much weight, usual thing, i got into my well rehearsed speech on MFP blah blah then he tells me he's had women ask who i am and saying how good i look hahaah it's like high school!29

Size 8 US jeans. Bought about 2 hours ago. In disbelief....I keep checking the label.26

You look fabulous and have an amazing smile, you're really photogenic x8 -
I put my jeans on and they felt uncomfortable (loose), so I tried my skinny jeans that have been sat in the wardrobe for 6 years and not only did they fit but my friend thinks they were a little big big!!! Happy days x19

I went skating with my son tonigjt. haven't been on skates since I was a kid and I couldn't skate well 30 years ago but I skated for an hour had a blast and can't wait to go back next week. before I started in may I would have sat on the bench and watched but tonight I was saying do you mind if I do one more lap before we go!20

I painted my toenails with running out of breath!
I also ended up walking 2 miles on my "rest" day. My daughter wanted to go ride her bike so instead of sitting and watching, I walked while she rode! A month ago, I sat in a chair watching. Today, I moved!

I've been a little impatient with my weight loss lately (only 10 lbs til I'm under 200!) So I thought I'd post an NSV, and it's just reminding myself I've lost over 60 lbs already and that shopping is actually enjoyable now and that running a mile is now a light day of exercise and that I feel like I look good most of the time!
Anyway, just a reminder to myself that I'm succeeding, even if it's not as fast as I want or always reflected by my weigh ins.35 -
Not sure if this is NSV but can now wear nice skinny sweaters (weather getting colder) Used to get too hot in sweaters before16

Yesterday went shopping to a mall. Usually it has to be a XL top for my size. At a store, I loved two different colored tops one yellow and another orang, only after picking realized they got small and medium only on the sale items. Just wanted to try to see how they fit. Guess what, the orange(medium) fit well and yellow top (small ) little tighter at chest but went well with a scarf. I couldn’t believe it, really Small???? I am sure it has to do with each individual brand and company measurements. I bought both the tops, either way I am on cloud 9 and best birthday gift to myself. Now I want to buy pants too21
-
I put on a pair of wind pants I had been given as a gift a while back that were just too snug for my liking and put them on today. They fit comfortably!!! So excited!!! Way to go everyone on your NSV's!!!!15

my bum feels funny when i sit on a hard surface. that would be because i have glute muscles now.10

My wedding ring has been consistently fitting for a week now. I've been wearing just my band which I could always get on, but my engagement ring wouldn't fit. Now I can slide them both on/off with ease. So nice to see my bling every day.19
