Surely appt's aren't made on a ring up that day only basis.
and, yes I agree with everyone else - sudden unexplained weight loss is a symptom of serious problems - your underweight status is a health risk in itself but the underlying cause also needs to be found out and treated.
I don't understand why, if this thread is real, why OP hasnt got an emergency appointment and why no one in OPs life has noticed the weight loss and commented...
OP also doesn't seem at all bothered by his weight so I call
The reason I seem like I am not bothered is because I don't notice anything causing me issues I just was interested in what my bmi was it said I was underweight so I asked on here if it was bad people say it is so i keep ringing the Dr's and they keep saying they are full I don't really understand what else I can do if I can't see a Dr
So you started off underweight (136@6'1) and dropped 26 pounds in 2 months (about 3.25lb/week) with no apparent reason and you didn't see any reason to worry? So seeing your heart beat in your chest and noticing that your upper arm is roughly the same diameter as your wrists and that your ribs are clearly visible doesn't seem to indicate anything is wrong? Ok, I'm just going to wander off and say best of luck.
My upper arms are not the same as my wrists and my ribs are not visible and I certainly have never noticed seeing my heartbeat in my chest
Funny, when I was around 16-18 BMI I certainly saw those issue, how is it that you don't?3 -
See a doctor right away. If your body doesn't have enough fat, and doesn't get enough calories, it will fuel itself with other tissues. That includes your organs. Being underweight (and as severely underweight as you are) is very dangerous. More dangerous than being overweight.2

Or OPs scales are wrong and he isn't actually so under weight as I can't believe for a second that there are no noticable signs of OP having a BMI of 14.5
I'm starting to agree with you. This doesn't seem real. When I was 5'4 @ 98 pound (1st year wrestling weight) I was rail thin and could easily see my ribs and had upper arms barely bigger than my wrist and could see my heart beating in my chest. We are talking a person who is older, 9" taller and merely12lbs heavier than I was then who claims he doesn't see this? I'm skeptical.5 -

I have 5.5" wrists and about 9"upper arms I maybe can see my ribs a little on the side s when I breath and my I think it's called breastbone is quite noticeable but definitely can't see my heart beat in my chest0 -
Weigh yourself on a friends scales. If you're the same weight, book the first available appointment with your GP and call 111 if it's in the future. No reason not to call 111 at that weight.1

1. Put your postcode in here http://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Walk-in centre/LocationSearch/663 to find your nearest walk in centre.
2. Walk in.
Or you can ask to speak to the Practice Manager at your GP's practice and explain that you can't get an appointment but you've lost weight rapidly.7 -
Dramatic weight loss in my experience only ever equals cancer.. sorry dude!! If this is a real post which I doubt as you seem to be getting off on people giving you attention then you'd sort yourself out. All this bull about you "forgetting" to make an appointment is rubbish. You have no intention of helping yourself. I suspect serious mental health issues, i.e. Anorexia8
-
Just cal 111. They are not A&E and will sort you out anytime. Explain the issue with the surgery etc.1

How can you say cancer then say I'm lying then say a mental issue I don't understand what you are trying to say really I have tried ringing the Dr's the last few days the day I forgot by the time I remembered it was too late in the day so no appointments would have been available0 -

Is there a time which I can call or are the lines open all the time0 -

Have you had your blood sugar checked? Are you drinking more water than usual? Peeing more than normal? Feeling thirsty? If you've lost that much weight that quickly, and were thin to begin with, these could be signs of Type 1 diabetes. My daughter (age 9) was recently diagnosed. Don't wait, go to the Dr. !! Even go to ER if you can't get in for an appointment.0

Well 111 was pretty useless they said I've gotta go see my gp2 -
Good you've spoken to them. But what I don't understand is when you ring the GP, and they don't give you an appointment that day because they're full, why you can't book an appointment for a few days or even a week's time. Have you tried asking them for this? Because even if it is for a couple of weeks time at least you'll have it there in the diary.
Call in the morning, ask to see a doctor as soon as possible. As soon as they can fit you in. They may tell you not today, but they will absolutely be able to book you in another day. It doesn't need to be your own GP.5 -

Yeah they just say there's no appointments today call again tomorrow0 -

They are telling you there are no appointments TODAY, not ever. Speak to them tomorrow and ask for an appointment in the future. Ask for next week, the week after, whenever they can fit you in. Because every single GP surgery I have ever been near will be able to make you an appointment for a date in the future that isn't the same day. Same day appointments are like gold dust, appointments booked in advance for next week? Much easier.7 -

The way they talk on the phone I didn't know you could book appointments for other days than what you were ringing from2 -

thats when you ask for the next available appt ,dont call back tell them you need one asap and to pencil you in for one.1 -
Some GP practices only do on the day appointments, no advance bookings. I have a few friends in that situation. You have to get on the phone BEFORE they open and keep hitting redial continuously so you can try and get in first. You might have to do it for a few days. It's a ridiculous situation but that's the way it at some practices.5

I don't disagree but that's the way it is.0 -
It is like that here, either call the moment the line opens or show up on the doorstep and wait in the cold until they open the doors.
Hopefully you get through at some point and can be seen.
You do look very thin to me, but more concerning is the rapid weight loss.
Whilst you are waiting to be seem maybe try to add some higher calorie, nutrient dense, foods to your diet. A bag of cashews is a great snack, greek yogourt, a nice piece of cheddar cheese.0 -
Can you travel or drive a little further to another location without the same day nonsense? That's crazy about those appointments. I hope you can get seen and sort your situation out soon0

RogueDeer5 wrote: »How do I go about seeing my Dr just ring up and say what?
Suddenly dropping that much weight that fast without trying to can often mean there is a health issue. Call him and tell him how much you lost and what time frame.1 -

The same day nonsense would probably be less of a problem if OP didn't seem so entirely lethargic about getting actual medical attention. For example, he said that, knowing they fill up fast, he knew the lines opened at 8:30, but didn't ring til nine. Of course by then they were full!5 -
Have you thought of showing up at the practice at 8:30am, seeing the receptionist in person and saying: "I've lost <amount of> lbs during the past two months without trying and without changing what I eat, can I see a doctor"?
Please modify the above so that it relays to the receptionist accurately what happened to you these past two months, i.e. any changes in food intake, work activity, exercise, anything else that might be affecting your weight, or if the case is that you deliberately lost the weight.
You may find it helpful to write down what you want to say to the nurse/ask the doctor so that you don't forget anything in the "heat of the moment', so to speak!
I see online that you guys do have walk in clinics. The next step if all that doesn't work is to go to a nearby town that has a walk in clinic and... walk in!
I do think that it would be a good idea to also check your weight on a second scale. Of course shoes, trousers, jackets, etc, would add substantially to your apparent weight so you would have to account for them.5 -
In the photo you appear underweight but not emaciated.
I agree with checking on a second scale in case your scale settings are wrong.
However the issue is not so much what your weight is but the sudden unexplained weight loss - you really need to find and treat the underlying cause of this.
