I was wondering if using a fat burner would help me lose weight quicker and suppress my appetite? If yes, any good products suggested?

Yep they work that's why no one is overweight anymore!
I kid I kid!
I wished they worked but they do not except you do lose money.9 -
Unfortunately they don't work how they say they do. They may have a small laxative in them to help their claims, but that's about it.2

They're a terrible idea. Most of them don't work, and those that do tend to be dangerous. Magic solutions are not what this site is about.8

If they worked, everyone would be thin.4

In July of 2014 when I started MFP we received a supply of Hydroxycut and I used this for 60 days. I took 2 tablets in the morning and two before lunch. I work in a med lab and have access to a lot of diagnostic devices and noticed no difference in performance, no change in any biological markers, no noticeable change period.
Of course this is a sample of 1, but I have yet to see any evidence of any of these products actually working.
What works is the formation of routine. You could take two m & m's before every meal along with 16 oz of water and have the same effect, plus you get a candy coated chocolate miracle at every meal, because science...16 -
Sometimes diuretic. Sometimes caffeine. Sometimes laxative. Always nonsense.10

If it's legal, it doesn't work. If it works, it's not legal.16

There is 1 "diet pill" that works but it works by poisoning you from the inside.
The best thing you can do is to eat in a calorie deficit for a decent amount of time.4 -
They do actually work in one sense - they'll make your wallet lighter. But that's the only place they'll help you lose weight.6

I'd say some can have some adverse side effects as well. I tried a pre-workout sup that touted Yohimbine as a fat burner that targeted "stubborn fat". I didn't know lol.
Over the course of a month I found myself feeling more and more agitated during and after a workout, and the last day I got what I can only describe as half manic.
I can't say definitively that it was the yohmbine, but reading up on the ingredients in the supp turned up a few pieces on possible negative side effects of that substance that some users reported. I stopped taking it immediately and those periods of agitation subsided.
Needless to say I read a lot these days before taking any new supplement, and maybe because of that, my supps are limited to only a multi vitamin and whey protein as required.2 -

I forgot to add: sometimes an FDA-approved fat blocker that gives you oily diarrhea farts, the effectiveness of which is dubious at best.7 -

Fen Phen worked, it worked for about 15 pounds... then it would leave you with only bones after it killed you.0

Most of them are basically legal speed. They might help with suppressing appetite, but they don't teach you anything about keeping the weight off once you lose it.5

Contrary to what people have been saying on here, some them work to a point but you still have to put in the same work you would have to if you weren't taking them. I can't say all of them work but the one I used (Shred Jym) helped me get that extra push. However, just don't use them longer than a month or two.0

In other words, they don't work.18
