What nobody tells you about losing weight

Today I ate at Sams cafe two slices of cheese pizza and I was so full when before I could of have eaten three or four plus the soda drink. My stomach has really shrunk for real.13

That sometimes compliments feel awkward because you aren't sure how to to respond, especially when they are passive aggressive
That people will ask for help on how to lose weight but aren't willing to track calories, consider using a food scale and avoid restriction of entire food groups. I mean, how do you expect me to help you? I can't eat at a deficit for the both of us....
You know how people say you seem to get hungrier the smaller you get? I swear it's true. I've been in maintenance for nearly a month because I keep going over my goal. I'm okay with this. Not gaining means I've still REALLY changed my eating habits. And I can feel that I'm starting to refocus.

Their questions can be hard to answer.
I just tell them I decided to stop trying to lose weight and just stopped eating foods that contains no added sweeteners and/or any form of grains.0 -

Yeah I went from 232 to 155 and iv been hovering at 155 all month. I'm STARVING constantly now when before I had no issues at all. Not sure if it's mental because the disgusted by yourself motivation is gone or truly a thing but it feels real. Sadly even going over the 200-300 calories has definatly effected my weight loss almost entirely sadly xD it's okay tho look how hot we look after all our work already13 -

Is this for real? I swear this past week I could have easily eaten half the planet, I've been so hungry! So many huge salads/stir fries/etc to keep within my calorie allowance but still being able to eat ALL THE THINGS!

Yep, I've had the same problem. Last week I put it down to TOM but I don't have an excuse this week . . . . although, thinking about it, I actually noticed that the ravenous hunger began when I started strength training about six weeks ago. Fed up with trying to kill the hunger with water5 -

I've noticed this happens to me when I'm about to drop a couple pounds -- woosh -- all at once. I just ignore the hunger as best I can. I figure my body is going, "Do you REALLY want to do this? Because once it's gone, it's gone ..."36 -

I've recently started losing again after regaining thanks to my medication (it's levelled out now and I can lose again safely)
Anyway, my boss and assistant manager were asking me about it. I said I'm just counting calories. No! They say. That can't be it? That's too simple. Then they get asking by about my weight lifting. Oh obviously it must be from that. That's why they can't lose the weight, cause they can't find the time.
Omfg it's so annoying!!!!
Edited to add, yes chairs don't sink below me randomly anymore either lol13 -
Down 84lb and multiple changes of wardrobe! Now have so many clothes to sell that are hardly worn that I need to have a garage sale or something. I've bagged them all up out of sight out of fright at how much there is!12

^^This!
It seems like people look for reasons - in your/my action - for them to not take their own action to lose weight. Can't possibly be a simple answer (counting calories) but rather must be something more complicated that they can't do (extreme exercise of some sort).
It's okay, folks, everyone makes their own choices to lose or not, just don't disrespect my choice!5 -
finding that the "height-adjustable" chair no longer sinks beneath you at random times.
I just recently noticed this too. I always had my chair at the lowest setting due to a combination of this and the fact that I'm tall, but I noticed my upper back was hurting from not sitting correctly so I moved it up to where it should be about a week ago, and it hasn't sunk at all.
Also I'm starting to see the shoe size thing. My 11s are too big, but unfortunately 10s are still too snug and 10.5s don't exist most of the time4 -
@geminiswede - I wear a 10.5, and it's so annoying. It feels like an injustice that they skip over that size completely. If losing weight will drop me down to a 10, I'll be thrilled!3

This!! I'm in between sizes too! Thank god I've got my one belt for my saggy bottom pants. I refuse to buy new ones until I'm getting closer to a comfortable 10!1 -

My head thinks I can drink like I used to.... My non-existent memory and hangover the following day tell me otherwise...

How before youd of done everything possible to avoid a second trip from the car with groceries (or similar) But now your like yay more steps. Bonus if stairs or if youve ever used groceries for weight reps as you walk them up13 -
How you will be putting away laundry and think "this can't fit me" when folding a pair of jeans. And then somehow it does!24

My husband folded and put away a couple pairs of my jeans the other day. In my 11 year old son's dresser. He was like, "They're so small, I thought they were M's!". LOL29 -

I'm a size 10.5 too!
I've given up on women's sneakers. I go to the men's section and enjoy the half sizes.8 -
When you're fat it's the "elephant in the room" (excuse the pun!)
But now that you've lost weight people are quick and more than happy to tell you "how fat you were"26 -

Unfortunately true. My sister does this about everything. "I'm so glad you got your hair cut. Your old hair was SOOOO unflattering." Thanks?

Not so much with groceries, because my hubby takes most of the bags in one go, but I do this sort of thing with other chores around the house. Before, I'd try and save up things to take to (or fetch from) the basement, or ask someone else to get something for me, but now I'm okay with taking the stairs multiple times... I even jog up and down them!
Even little things like making a cup of coffee - it used to be a case of getting the coffee from the pantry and the creamer from the fridge almost next to it, take everything to the kettle and make the coffee, then take everything back at once. Now, it's like this: get coffee and put in mug; return coffee to pantry; go back to kettle, pour water and stir; get creamer from fridge and add to mug; return creamer to fridge; enjoy coffee! (If I'm making a cup for my son, who prefers milk in his, that's an extra trip to get the milk and return it. )

I've lost 50 pounds, and I plan on losing about 25 more.
The subtle changes day by day, but the drastic changes by the year. If you feel discouraged, find a picture from the beginning of your journey. I had no idea how much my body changed until I saw that picture.

-- I am still the same person I was when I was fat; I didn't magically change into that (finally) perfect person and all my problems didn't disappear with the excess fat.
-- I fit in even the super-cheap airline seats with room to spare.
-- People who have never known me fat think I have always been a normal weight.21 -
I'm puzzled about the first comment re: handicapped bathroom stalls. What exactly does that have to do with the topic being discussed. I haven't gotten to my goal...but was intrigued by the topic. Interesting how others can have such a negative reaction to such a positive change such as getting healthier. It certainly is telling. But, back to the comment about using the handicap stall....what if it is the only stall available & not being used....is it really that big of an issue?? I have no qualms about using the handicap stall if it isn't being used. In all the time I have used public restrooms, I have NEVER seen a handicapped person using the handicapped stall....it is ALWAYS empty!!14

I have been attaching my seatbelt round the handbrake in my car - have only lost about an inch round waist but clearly it is enough to throw off my movements, so I am dragging the belt round further then I have to now and it seems to always loop itself over the handbrake! hehe10

I wake up earlier and more rested now. It's probably been a month since the alarm clock has woke me. I was so lazy before my weight loss, sat at a desk all day. Now I work out, run, walk, etc but somehow I don't need as much sleep and I wake up feeling great.26
