SAY "NO" TO LATE NIGHT SNACKING -- FEBRUARY 2017 CHALLENGE

Tired of self-sabotaging by munching after dinner? Upset that you double your in-calories at night? Then it's not just me . To get some help (or inspire us by your good example), please join us in this challenge.
You set what you feel is late night snacking. For example, if you have extra calories left for the day, you can have a snack if it's small. Others decide not to eat at a past a certain time. It's up to you.
We go by the formula:
Me: "number indicating how many evenings you stuck to it"
LNS: "number of times late night snacks won"
Example: Me: 2 - LNS: 0 indicates I won the first two nights.
Some people also add a * to the latest number. In the example, that would be
Me: 2 - LNS: 1*
if LNS won the 3rd night.
It's as simple as that. Or as complicated, as you will discover. Nevertheless, the persistence and good results of some of our "old" members (and some people keep coming back) show that the battle is worthwhile .
You will notice some people post streaks of how many days they are free of late night snacking. This is definitely not a requirement, but if you want to do it for motivation, it works well.
Welcome!

New to MFP and challenges so hoping they will really keep me on track. I'm a complete snack monster at the moment whilst breastfeeding so i need this in my life! I'm aiming for fruit/healthy snacks only that are within my daily allowance. Time to put down the biscuit tin and crisp packets1

I failed all of Jan so I'm in for a rematch this February lets go pals3

This is good. I woke this morning and worked out. Had my coffee with cashew/vanilla creamer. Then from there had a smoothie of 1/2 banana, 1/2 avocado, cocoa, almond milk, and maybe something else in there. Home from work 2-ish, had rice and some Indian chicken dinner I made last night (spicy). It is now 6pm.... Snack monster right outside my office door. Around the corner. In the kitchen. This is the hard part..... If I can go till after 8pm, something else kicks in and says "it's too late".
Good luck all.
I'm going to write more than just accomplishments. I'll write about the struggle. Would love to hear more than

Hi All,
I am in again this month. Almost gave in around 1:00 am last night. Woke up hungry, couldn't get back to sleep and so wanted a snack. I only resisted because I am in this challenge and knew I would blow my January streak :-)
I am adding a little more flexibility to my definition of LNS this month as my main goal here is to not LNS after dinner while watching TV, reading, etc., or in the middle of the night, and this challenge has been a tremendous help in this regard. However, I want to give myself some flexibility for when we get together with friends. Therefore my definition for Feb. is no LNS after 7:30 pm, unless we are getting together with friends AND I have remaining daily calories that can be used to allow for an evening snack with them. Hopefully this new definition will continue to keep me accountable, while allowing me a little flexibility so I don't give up on the challenge altogether.
Good luck everyone with their LNS goals for February!5 -
I managed to be successful in Dec and Jan; therefore I am committed to NO LNS for the month of February.3

Hi! I'm going to define my goal as:
Eat 80% to 85% of my calories before 7pm!
I just started tracking again and have been eating 50-60% of my calories after 5pm - not intentionally, just haven't been taking the time to stay on my eating schedule. Eating the bulk of my food at night also makes the less nutritionally dense foods more tempting
If I want a 'win' for today, I need to eat asap.
Good luck everyone!2 -
I'm in! I know it will be very hard for me, but I am determined.

Good morning to all. I always start out strong first thing. Feel empowered. I exercise 4, 5X's/wkly. In the morning of course. As the day rolls out however, my resolve rolls in. Later in day is when I see family and chit chat and of course there's always food. We love snacking and chatting. This is where the pattern needs to be interrupted. Not sure how I'm going to go about it just yet......2
