Congrats! I just finished Week 5 Day 3 today - 20 mins nonstop jogging. Really slow, but I made it.
Did this Friday afternoon.
Did you notice week 6 now will be more than 30 mins? 33 - 35. Gotta get up earlier now.
Nope. Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. And congrats!4 -
I bought a leather jacket a size bigger then I though iwas online but my arms couldn't fit into it so I hid it away in my closet. It was a symbol of failure to me for a long time. Today my arms fit and I could even flex them!!!!! Next goal is to be able to zip it! Im determined!33

Tonight I was told my face looked slimmer.
First comment about my weight loss!
(10 pounds down)32 -
This weekend I went backpacking alone. Through a series of unfortunate events I arrived late to the trail with very little sleep. I figure that's okay! I have my headlamp and I'll sleep great that night.
The sun set when I was 3 miles away from my shelter.
Despite being on the lookout I then walked by my shelter.... I kept going thinking it must be just around the next hill.
Eventually I resign myself to the realization that it must be behind me. I could turn back and travel an undetermined distance, but I'm not sure it's close enough to the trail for my headlamp to pick it out. I decide to keep walking to the next landmark.
I hit the landmark about 9pm.
But I'm out of water. (I had planned to get water at the shelter, but... no shelter.) I know a river runs along the trail ahead and there must be feeder streams cutting through the trail. I continue on until I find water.
I find water at 10pm.
I then decide to keep going until I find a likely spot to cowboy camp without a tent. Except the trail for the next few miles was on the side of a mountain and the only flat part was the very rocky trail itself.
At 12am I reach the next landmark.
Now... I'm almost halfway to the next shelter. But the next part of the trail is steep. Very steep. Miles going uphill. Steps cut into the side of the mountain. Tree roots are my best friend.
I decide that I could head up the mountain and if I want to quit... well, I could sleep there just as well as where I was.
I push on.
At 1am I reach the base.
At 4am I'm at the peak.
I'm exhausted and taking many more breaks. Slow going. I'm at the top and the next shelter is less than 4 miles away. Moderate up and down hills.
I push on.
The final mile is all uphill again. Dawn broke as I arrived at the shelter and I watched the sun come up over the very same mountains I had hiked the previous day.
I was exhausted. And stinky. There was a pond next to the shelter and I was tempted to strip down and take a dip in the ice cold water.
I traveled 28 miles in one go. By the end I had a bandaid on every toe.
But... I'm barely even achy. My body is changing.
That's a win.81 -
@SierraFatToSkinny - your day and night of hiking sounds epic, a mental and physical challenge2

went to disney for 9 days and hit 17 to 20 k steps a day. I logged my food most days and made good choices. felt in control the whole trip:)25

Can do both buttons up on my work trousers and not be in pain
(the second one is further in along the waistband, kinda, don't know how to describe it, seems a pointless button, but before whenever it has been done up, my trousers felt like they were garroting me!)14 -
I've stuck with my body weight training for over a month now. Even though for the first 5-ish weeks the scale didn't move much I stuck with it. The scale is moving again now.
But the real victory is that I FEEL so much stronger. I hate rest days because I WANT to work out (but know my muscles need the rest). and I LOOK so much smaller regardless of what the scale says.
And I've started noticing way more definition in my upper arms and just want to touch them all the time. My legs and butt are much firmer and not so jiggly and mushy. My cellulite is really going away. The only part of my legs I'm really still working on is inner thigh... I wish that would firm up a bit more (it's also where I have the most excess skin and stretch marks so I'm sure it will just take time)
I just can't believe how much better I look and feel. AND I think my brain is FINALLY starting to catch up. The days I feel huge are getting less and less and more and more often I look in the mirror and am happy with what I see (I do still have a ways to go but) overall I'm happy with how my body looks and I don't feel so ashamed of it and that's huge for me!22 -
I run 4 miles on the treadmill....yesterday was the first day i did it without walking.21

That's one of the coolest things about C25K. It keeps presenting you with upcoming hurdles that look impossible, but it prepares you for success and you keep surprising yourself at what you can do!

My friends are picking me up way more often now.
...when you're the shortest girl out of a bunch of really tall guys, getting picked up is kind of an in-joke. :P16 -
So much awesome this weekend. My husband and I out for a Valentine's Day dinner and ate richly, staying entirely within macros. The tables were tightly packed as we headed to our corner table and I had no problems fitting through anywhere. Those kind of situations used to give me such anxiety. We followed that with karaoke and the chairs that used to dig into my sides and require some wiggle to get up from felt so huge! I had a good 6 inches of wiggle room. The best one though is the gorgeous new ring my husband gave me for our anniversary today because I've been wearing my wedding ring on my index finger for months. It's a full 3 ring sizes smaller and he proudly told me that he bought an insurance and resize plan for it for the future.36

That is a true NSV, dont know what it is about 20 mins nonstop jogging, but when you pass that it gets a whole lot easier.
I have just redone the c25k and my NSV is completing a 5k without walking.18 -
I have a sponsor for my powerlifting competition! That makes me legit, right?!? The gym I train at is sponsoring me. It basically means I got a t-shirt and my entry fee covered, but still! Best most exciting NSV yet!43

Oh no! It's one of those walkers making those of us trying to run look bad. The first time I did C25K you ladies were my inspiration to keep going and getting faster, because I was not about to keep getting lapped by walkers for ten weeks straight!
Actually, it's the other way around! I've always been a walker, and have envied runners. But there were lots of inspiring people, including little kids, participating in this event. And since I love reading this thread every day for inspiration, I've been thinking that I might tackle the C25K challenge for the first time ever.

I just shaved 10 minutes off my normal 1 hour 40 minutes for my 5 mile walk!!!20

Today I did not want to go to the gym. I went anyway. My body did not want to cooperate. I still worked everything to failure. I had bad numbers, but I went. Will power won today.37

1) Managed to avoid temptation & just stick with a simple main course when my dinner-mates were indulging on multiple courses & drinks
2) Dragged myself on the treadmill
3) Even though I had a miserable run & cut my planned cardio workout short, I stayed in the gym and did 20-30 minutes of strength and core exercises.
& lastly:
(I'm ENJOYING the soreness today!)17 -
My NSV is getting back on track today. I have quit dieting seriously since around thanksgiving. I have been maintaining within 5 pounds in the healthy weight range. Today I went 1 pound over and am now 1 pound above a healthy weight. Hoping it might just be water weight but either way this is a NSV for me! Getting back on track now instead of waiting until I am 10 pounds over a healthy weight!30
