Tonight I had the dumbest conversation with target staff
Options
So my local target sell a select few items that are gluten free, which was a wonderful find for us. It's very limited but we love the selection (isis pizzas, breakfast sandwiches, applegate gluten free chicken fingers etc).
So tonight we are there and I grab a whole bunch of udis breakfast sandwiches. I wasn't really paying attention to the date on them. My sister wife goes.... those expired last April. I was like what?!? So I look and sure enough the expiration date was 4/2016. I was like, that can't right, maybe that is the manufacture date, but nope it was the expiration date.
So we calmly bring them to the register and tell the cashier they are expired, and here is where the fun begins lol. Her response was-no they expire thisbup coming April. Uhhhh no, we are in 2017 not 2016. She continued to
Assert that they don't expire for another 2 months. Finally I politely ask if she can page a supervisor while ringing everything else up (so people wouldn't be held up). Manager comes, I explain the situation. Her response "oh no... gluten free just means the product doesn't expire". Wait, what?!? We gave up after that and literally laughed the entire way home.

1) were they only trying to sell it to you no matter what so they even lied to your face in order to do so;
or

I had a client a few backs ask me how a 250mg tablet was bigger than a 500mg tablet.
I explained that they were totally different medications, therefore had different volumes and densities etc.
Nope couldn't get it. Said he was emailing trading standards about the company manufacturing the 500mg tablet, that they were ripping him off lol.
I still laugh to my self that someone can be that stupid.
The worst thing about your incident is they probably put them back out and laughed that you were the stupid one!
I'm glad you didn't eat them, especially with you being pregnant.7 -

We called udis when we got home and they were absolutely appalled, especially since in major grocery stores they usually do their own restocking, but at this target they do not. We called udis. We screty expect they justnlutnotnright back on the shelf. Going tomorrow to see if they did. If they did, we will be calling the department of health.

Something being almost a year past it's Sell by date is not going to be good either (if that's the kind of date it used there are different types of date - Best Before Date/Use by Date). If it's a frozen product it's probably not going to do any damage but it's not going to taste that great. No it doesn't, but the guidelines are there for how long the food should be kept, frozen or not. The Target clerks should have known better. Seriously inexcusable. I have brought things to their attention that are past the expiration date and had no problem exchanging them. Things past expiration date should be pulled off the shelves when items are being stocked.
Perhaps they should have employee meetings refreshing their memories on what year we are in.

I'm sorry but at ALMOST A YEAR past the Sell By date, is definitely NOT edible.
It is understood that the Sell By date is a guideline put out by manufacturers to get grocers to push product and it is not a safety date, Best By and Use-By dates also are not safety dates.
However, the FSIS(Food Safety and Inspection Service) recommends that frozen egg or egg products be eaten no later than 12 months if frozen and unopened. Cooked sausage, has a recommended storage time of only 1-2 months.

It was chicken and egg not dried spices and stuff.
No way I'd eat it and I have no problem eating ood dried products.

Seriously? Meat past it's expiration date can be deadly. Also, it didnt say "sell by" or "best by", it said "expires". Big difference.
Although I see you completely missed the point , that GF items do expire.
