Yea that usually happens to me too, so I won't be surprised if I teeter back over to 200. Will be glad when I get a little further into ONEderland so that if I teeter up a lb or so I'll still be under 200! But I really need to take some measurements because when the scale isn't moving that's what's gonna keep me motivate.3 -

I'm exactly 5'0 and 43 years old. I've been trying to lose weight literally, for YEARS (at least 8) but just kept gaining no matter what. I got up to 134 lbs, and as we all know, on a small frame that is a LOT. I really should be about 110-115. For me, it wasn't really a lack of trying or motivation. I exercised (running, HIIT, weightlifting) and kept my diet to about 900-1000 calories net. And all I did was gain. I was very much into extreme 'clean eating', no processed foods, no gluten, lower carb. I experimented with removing rice, soy and dairy too, eating mostly protein and vegetables, limiting fruit to lower sugar types like apples and berries. I even did a green smoothie cleanse for 5 days and gained a lb. Tried paleo, paleo AIP etc etc. Frustrating right??
Well this year, I experimented with ketogenic dieting. I didn't think it would work, since I try SO HARD and nothing seemed to help. But my neighbor had the lbs just melting off her and that's what she was doing. She wasn't even exercising and just half-heartedly doing the diet and had incredible success. At first I lost a few lbs, but then I gained. I was still eating 'real' food, not processed junk but I was eating a LOT of dairy. I lowered my calorie intake to a goal of 850 per day, and I didn't force myself to eat if I really wasn't hungry. Also, knowing that I historically have had sensitivities to certain foods, I decided to do an elimination diet and see what might be triggering inflammation and water retention and potentially blocking weight loss. Now was the time to bite the bullet and restrict any potential food sensitivity triggers so I removed eggs, nuts, dairy, and then followed the ketogenic diet of no grains and gluten (rice, wheat, corn), starches (carrots, potatoes), no sugar (no honey, fruit or refined sugar). I still didn't see a huge difference. I also suspected candida overgrowth might be a problem based on some symptoms I was experiencing. So then I took it a step further and devised a sort of hybrid 'food sensitivity/anti-candida/ketogenic' diet and also added some candida cleanse supplements. If you're interested, you can google about these things, but basically I also removed things that fed candida like vinegar (anything with vinegar as an ingredient I do not touch), yeast, alcohol, mustard, mushrooms etc. And you wouldn't believe it but I have dropped 12 lbs in about 2-3 months, without exercise. I will be incorporating exercise back into my routine because I know it is important, but just being able to lose this weight at all has been AMAZING. TRULY AMAZING. I weigh less now than I have in 13 years, and I can fit into clothes I thought I never would again. And I feel so much better! I don't have the lethargy and brain fog and 'water balloony' feeling or restriction of movement, abdominal pain I suffered from previously. I'm sure with including exercise I will lose even more lbs and firm up even more. And I'm focusing on healing my gut lining so that I can hopefully heal some (all?) of these food sensitivities!
Anyhow, I know this won't be everyone's story but maybe it's helpful for someone who feels like they are doing everything 'right' and following all the advice out there and still not seeing results. There might very well be something else going on that is hindering health and weight loss and you need to figure out what that is.3 -
Started at 176lbs and my absolutely heaviest roughly two weeks ago. I'm down to 175. At 5'1", you can tell that I'm heavy but I don't think people realize that I'm technically obese. I'm really hoping by the end of the month I can reach at least 160-165 and at least 150 by the end of the year!2

sometimes our body doesn't like certain foods and the only way to loose the weight is to take away what it doesn't like. Mine is meat and carbs. My body HATES them. Once I removed all meat and most carbs I started dropping slowly. And now I'm 20 pounds down in 77 days4

Hi everyone I've been using this app for a year now and just discovered this community chat room!
My name is Jackie I'm 5'3 22 years old, I have 2 kids and weighed 200lbs a year ago. I downloaded this app and started working out I'm 140lbs and my goal is 120. For a few months now I lost motivation and I stopped going to the gym and I'm yoyoing between 135-140 I'm hoping you guys could help me out and let me know what motivates you. It's great being able to talk to other gals and hear everyone's story. That alone is very motivating!2 -
5'2 Hi everyone, I am a fellow shortie and I am just starting out on this new challenge in my life, to lose the weight. I am 182 lbs (yikes) and I just want to feel lighter and have more energy. I do have Fibromyalgia and some of the medicines that I take,are known to increase appetite. What would be a good way to tackle this weight loss? and those that have been successful,how did you do it? At the moment it all seems so daunting.0

I'm 5'3 and started at 181lbs!
I'm currently at 135lbs and my goal is 120. I've always been big and have never been a healthy weight let alone slim. I know how daunting it is! But what honestly helped me was setting myself little goals. For example, my current goal is to get into the 120's! 5lbs to go. It doesn't seem so scary when you think of it in terms of mini goals.
My success has literally only been down to calorie counting. I use a food scale and weigh everything! I have a Fitbit and eat my exercise calories back (about 1/2 or 3/4). If you go over or have a bad day, just move on! Don't dwell over it and pick yourself back up as soon as possible. Slow and steady wins the race! Good luck on your journey

I'm 5'4/5'5 depending on who measures me!
I started at about 209 (I have only just worked that out!) I'm at 176(ish) the now.
I would love to get down to about 150 (I'd even take 160).
At the moment I hit a plateau due to a serious shorn fracture on my ankle, I had a trampoline accident2 -
Hi! 5' 2 3/4"...but I think I'm shrinking a bit. I'm 47 and have been losing the same 15-20 pounds all of my adult life. I'm currently at 160 having lost 8-10 since the holidays. I can usually get down to 155 then I falter and gain it back. The smallest I've been since having kids is 130 and everyone told me I looked sick so my goal weight is actually about 140-145 at this point in my life. I've never been small. I've always been very athletic and muscular and even in high school I was around 125. I'm also curvy with the emphasis on the top half even when I lose weight.
And the old adage is true...the older you get the harder it is to lose it! I used to be able to drop 15 pounds by just cutting a few calories and adding some exercise. Now though, every darn pound is a struggle!
I've added in more resistance training with my cardio to help my metabolism and hopefully get rid of some back fat and arm jiggle. I'm seriously considering hiring a personal trainer but time is tight with work and kids and a new puppy coming soon.

This is just this morning.My babysitter took the picture and I can't believe how small I look. My feet, my collar bone. EVERYTHING. And I'm at 161 still but I feel like I look smaller it's finally paying off. non-scale victory11 -

Do you shorties eat your exercise calories? I know it's harder for us to create a large deficit and I wonder who eats them back and who doesn't. I work in an office and have some extremely sedentary days so my base cals are 1200. I usually earn around 275 cals in exercise but I'm conflicted on whether or not to eat them most days.0

I NEVER eat my exercise calories back. When I did, I didn't lose.1

I eat some back. Probably 1/2 - 3/4. Sometimes I eat them all. I like to leave myself a little cushion for the weekend, because Saturday is our (husband and I) play/date day, and we just eat/drink whatever without counting. So while I don't count cals on Saturdays, I like to be aware in the back of my mind that I've given myself that extra bit from eating a bit under throughout the week.3 -

I always eat at least half mine back and I'm on 1200 too. Still losing

Ooh, how have I not seen this thread yet. I'm 162cm (5'3) and have transitioned from 62kg to 53kg in the past few months. While I still want to lose a few more kg, my focus is now on recomposition. So , I went to the doctor the other day and the doctor asked how tall I was. I told her 5'2(and a half) she said "okay , so 5'2" .... hey that half really does count ... anyways rant over.4

I'm exactly 5ft .. 42 years old
Current Weight 145.2 pounds
Last April had an abdominal hysterectomy " weigh 142 .. at that time .. than got diagnose with hypothyroidism .. worked with my doctors, that's under control currently... but weight went up to 151.6 ... February 6 .. got serious with tracking my intake.. and average 1644 calories daily , with 90 minutes of daily activity, nothing major .. just walking .. I hate feeling hungry .. so I eat my activity back .. will be happy at 120-125 pounds

I'm 4'9 and have always struggled with weight. Used to be 182 but lost loads through walking everywhere and maintained for 7 years at 108. Now 126 and really wanting to lose those 18lbs!1
