I've increased my distance...Yay! Yesterday total 8.2 miles...so far today 3.7...tonight, hopefully another 3-4...I feel great!0

shellzbellz,
Do you cover that distance just walking? If so, how long does it take you? Do you use a machine or walk about? At my speed, 8 miles would take me almost three hours, IF I could maintain my pace ( but I have short, fat, stubby legs and can only go 3.5 mph, but not for a long period of time). I envy you.0 -
Added another 3.5 miles the past 2 days, up to 50.5 - 9 more days, if I push myself for 3 miles each day, I should hit my goal...0

Hello CRody44...
It is time consuming, but I have been trying do two intervals, one before work and another after. I use a treadmill and mostly walk but have short intervals of running :grumble: Today I was able to get in a total of 7.2 miles in two hours total time. I like to walk at 3.5 pace, at least you are doing it...keep up your good work.0 -

flausa, I’ve noticed that when I want to pick up my heart rate, I will swing my arms a little further/faster. I think this causes me to shorten but quicken my stride to keep up with my arms. Thanks0

Good Morning! Felt a little sluggish today so I decreased time/distance this a.m....total of 3 miles in 52 minutes. Looking forward to picking up some distance this evening.0

7 miles uphill - that takes me up to my challenge - distance wise0

The Bride let me sleep in ‘til 8 this morning, then off to the Farmer’s Market, then to Macy’s to pick up a pair of diamond earrings that I bought my wife, then took a quick trip around the mall. I needed a rest anyway.
16 min. two sec., .54 mile, 2 mph. (RunKeeper)0 -
Lazy Sunday today! No miles today0

I can sympathise with that - when I started I walked at around your rate. I persevered, walking regularly, and now do 3.5 hours an hour easily. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you speed up? Hope so - good luck!0
