cbabie I will eat veggies it's just not something I would go to first. I'm making vegetarian lasagna in my crockpot tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. How about put your foot down on TV and say one night a week we are having game night. There are a lot of fun interaction games that don't take for ever and are really fun. You can stop at any point. Taboo, 3 second rule. Heads up app on the phone is also fun. But I think that one is paid. There's a free one my kids showed me. We did that when the boys were last here and it was hilarious. My dh doesn't do games but he did this night and him trying to act out cowboy was something to see. Someone just needs to lead. Maybe even make it fun and also help the grandkids prepare the snacks.

trooworld Yaaay on weight loss. Boooo on not feeling good.

gemwolf Happy Easter. I hope you had a good one.

cmedwards Inwatch a youtube channel featuring twins who are losing weight on WW and one has lost almost 75 and one almost 100 lbs. They talked about that this time that they rejoined WW it was going to be about total honesty with themselves. With food, etc They are not big exercisers which really surprised me. They are working on that part of their journey. Each journey is different. Tracking is their #1 thing Why not start there. I noticed I made the mistake of taking the easy way and finding something similar in the MFP data base instead of being exact just because I didn't want to get up and go scan the item. Once I have found less cals which was good but once more calories. The old me was well it all just balances out. But I'm working on honesty. So I have been scanning. These two inspire me. I have seen a "before" photo of both of them and I say Wow there's hope for me. Looking at other success stories has not inspired me before like these. I think because of their personalities.

Morning! I have an early morning appointment and am running late. I was looking over my sleep habits and last week I got lots of sleep. I think that's why I feel always behind. Almost had a meltdown yesterday as I didn't get my work done, or my taxes..and our internet had an outage all day..I don't work on Sundays, but really wanted to get my taxes done. So I ate sweets and no protein yesterday ...had a breakfast at church, but didn't have time to eat...so goes my story.

    How was your Easter weekend?

I was reading in my Bible and I have circled a new day, it was describing the day Jesus arose...so I am taking that an claiming this a NEW DAY. I believe that I have it in me to make some good choices and I will. I have a meeting with my boss today and she had left me an email on Friday that was reprimanding me again...so I am so looking forward to 3:30 today....NOT

Be that as it may..these are my choices and I will be accountable for the choices I make.

I am so encouraged, by you guys...what are the choices you are making today?

Good morning all!! My dinner yesterday with my Son and Daughter-in-law was really good. I did pretty good on my portions and everything was very tasty. Then came dessert...We had pecan pie, triple chocolate cake, carrot cake and muffins. Oh, my!!! It was hard but I just got really small slivers of the cakes and pie. I love sweets and that was the hard part. This morning I hadn't gained, I stayed the same. I was very thankful.

@cbabie..So sorry you are feeling down. Just remember you are not alone. We are here for you and God is too! It is nice to be able to tell others how you are feeling and I think it is a little like therapy.

@gemwolf110 ..Happy Easter to you. Have you been getting to ride that new bike much?

@trooworld..I hope you are feeling better today. I hate colds!!! I so know what you are talking about if a car gets too close. Someone hit me from behind years ago and if someone is coming up behind me and I don't think they are going to stop, it still freaks me out.

@theslightedgeforever..Congrats on the weightloss. Slow and steady is great!!

@SunnyDayzMomma..Welcome to this great group. Everyone here is so encouraging and friendly. Congrats on your 70 lb weightloss. That is awesome.

Everyone have a wonderful and blessed week..

Well my company has all gone home and I've finished cleaning up the kitchen. Feel very good about the dinner I had. I pre-planned my portions to not exceed 1200 calories (total for the day) and I came in just under 1100 so I'm happy with that. Lots and lots of water too - that can't hurt. Didn't get a chance for a treadmill workout today but I was very busy so that may be worth a few calories burned.
Now its off to watch a little TV before going to bed.
    Cheers, Carol

cbabie Choices. I made good choices today in regards to food and exercise. In fact I was rewarded by fitting into a new shirt that I have had hanging in my closet two years with tags still on it. So this keeps me going knowing that one day I'll be able to wear the other new shirts and a skirt that's still hanging in there.

trooworld Hopefully you will feel better soon. Are you on antibiotics? Yes rest until you are completely fine. Exercise just makes it last longer.

lore11a Did you track all your food? Tracking has really been helping me. I'm start to pretrack it before I eat it to see if it fits into my calories for the meal. If not, then I can take a slightly smaller portion. If it's something I really want, then I will give up the calories for my next snack. I have built in a morning and evening snack of 100 calories each and then a 150 afternoon snack. The evening snack is the one I look forward to the most and almost never give that up. If I've been good during the day, I can have a bigger portion of my snack since that means more calories.

cmedwards Sounds like your preplanning was a success Good for you. One day at a time.

Food was within carbs and calorie budgets
Exercise 30 min treadmill and 35 min strength training.

    and onto tomorrow

    Morning:

Well I tracked all that I ate yesterday and it wasn't pretty. After doing my taxes...:(

I have already pretracked up until coming home. Since I know this is the key to my success I have to be more accountable to myself and DO THIS. I seemed to not have the time to track...I hate waiting on technology..once I leave my house work consumes my every minute, no time to breathe..so how do I track? just make myself wait on the eternal wheel going around and do it in the mornings. Something else I do will have to go by the wayside until I get this weight off.

@trooworld I hope you get to feeling better soon!!!
@lore11a Good choices for Easter dinner, so glad you enjoyed it
@cmedwards52 Whew...I am sure you are glad company is gone and you can get back to your routine. I hope you have a great day.
@theslightedgeforever congrats on fitting into that shirt!!

    Good Morning
Well much happier today. I have started a low carb routine after advice from my personal trainer daughter and it is already making me feel better. I am still counting calories but leaving out sugar, flour, high sugar fruit, root veggies, processed foods etc. It is amazing how much healthy food you can actually eat if you leave out all that stuff. So here's hoping this will kick a few pounds to the curb. Sure can't hurt anyway.
    Have a good one, Carol

Hmmm thought I checked in but evidently not.

cbabie If you pick two breakfasts and two lunches and rotate them throughout the week, you can just track yhem once and then "copy to" whatever date you want. Yaaaay on getting in your steps.

trooworld I'm glad you are feeling better. Have you been journaling your emotions during this accident and sickness for your coach?

cmedwards Good for you for trying something new to shake your body up.

Ok need to exercise in a bit

    Yesterday-

    tracked
    over cals and carbs

Well I did not get my exercise in. So onto tomorrow......

I'm heading out for an extended vacation but will check in. I will be visiting some friends then head to my sister's house for a week. Then to one of my son's house for a week. Then to my other children's house for two weeks. All with no scale Yikes I didn't do too well last year. So I must make better choices this year and not keep saying I'm on vacation. Eating out alot puts weight on me. I have my exercise all planned though. That should help. Now to just stick to it. My goal is to still track everyday. That will help.

    Morning gals:

I tracked every bite again yesterday and stayed close. I had a function at work last night and didn't eat what we had catered in...lots of 2 bite foods and much wine and beer. I don't drink, so that wasn't an issue, but boy was I starving when I got home last night around 9...so Jif and ice cream sandwiches it was. I was still under, but only because of my steps..over 10K again!! I saw lots of people I hadn't seen in years and it was good, they all said you look so good and thin..LOL that means I was heavier back then and/or niceties.. :)

@theslightedgeforever safe trips!!! you can do this, you don't have to gain, but it's okay to maintain too!

@cmedwards52 I feel much better when I let go of the carbs and processed foods too! Great job! Glad you feel better.

Okay I have to run get my walk in.

Trying to keep up on my daily habits and checking in and tracking are going to be important to keep me on track.

So I've done both today so far. Probably why I gained last year. No accountability to myself or to others

I need more water but then that means more bathroom stops

Cbabie. Good for you for continuing to track and get in your exercise

    Hi All
Well so far so good on this low carb routine. Down 3.25 today and feeling really good and VERY motivated. Beautiful sunny day here today too. Bit of a sad family touch to it however. This is the 50th anniversary of my Father's death. He was killed by a drunk driver at the age of 51. I was 14 - my siblings were 25, 23, 12 and 8. Please do me a favor and do whatever you can to get these drunks off the road. Save 1 person's life and you'll save a lifetime of heartache for his/her family. So often the DRUNK kills an innocent person but comes out of it himself/herself without a scratch.
    Cheers, Carol

    hey gals:

so far I have tracked all weekend and have all my meals today planned. I didn't walk over the weekend, DH sleeps in and Saturday, I had a melt down and went to my dad's place and slept in his bed for 3 hours..oh well I guess I needed it.

@gemwolf110 yes it's hard to get your steps in when you sit at a desk. I purpose to carry one thing at a time just to get in some steps..LOL I am glad you are enjoying your new job and look forward to having you visit us again.

@trooworld So sorry that you still fell icky..but yea on the loss! just know you are on the upswing!

@theslightedgeforever the good part is you are tracking...it keeps us accountable.!!

@cmedwards52 YES WE can do this!!

okay gals overslept, have to get moving.

    Good morning all!
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a quite Saturday, didn't do much. Sunday I went to Church and we had a potluck dinner afterwards. I like getting to socialize with the people but making good food choices is so hard with lots of food around. The bad part is with potluck you can't plan ahead on what you will be eating. I didn't do too bad but probably still ate more than I should have. I will just have to get a bit more exercise in this week. Two of my Grandkids will be staying with me next week. Mealtime will be a challenge on coming up with things my grand-daughter can eat. She is the one, that for now, cannot eat gluten, dairy, eggs, potatoes, root vegetable, soy and etc. I will love having them but will have to do a lot of planning.

@trooworld..You did so good on your weight this week, 4.5 pounds, wow!!! That is great, especially after all you have been going through. You are an inspiration.

@cbabie.. I loved your last post about the twinkies. It made me smile.

@cmedwards52.. Good job on your weightloss. That is fantastic and doesn't it make you feel good too? You are so right, the drunk drivers need to stay off the roads. Sorry about your Dad.

@gemwolf110.. Congratulations on the new job!! After all your hard work and crazy schedule, it is finally here!!

@theslightedge..I hope you and your hubby are having a good time on your trip. It shoulds like you are getting your exercise in, which is awewome. Keep up the good work!

Time to go walk on my treadmill. Have a good day!!!

Trooworld. You have had a great month. Now on to the next one. So you need a plan for work goodies. Best thing is bring your own so you control the calories and portions

Cbabie. Good for you for staying on track The only good thing I have done so far on vacation is tracking all my food. I took a 45 min walk with dh today. Tomorrow a hike is planned

Lore11a. Wow on your steps. I still need to work on mine. Even with a walk I was short

    Morning all,

I tracked but I went over my goals. I had a Chicken Caesar Salad at Applebee's with my sister and it was 860 calories. I told them dressing on the side, but that didn't happen and I ate the whole thing. Oh well I tracked. I also didn't get my 10K, but I did get on my treadmill I was at 9422 steps. :(

I also didn't get much sleep, I was up I swear every hour..then I must have went into a deep sleep and someone is waking me up saying aren't you going to work? OH MY

@theslightedgeforever good job on tracking!! it really will pay off. It makes us more accountable and conscience of what we are putting in our mouth.
@lore11a wow it was great of you to do your neighbors yard too! Great job on steps. We have had lots of WIND..so dust is everywhere. :(

    Okay gals gotta run

@Trooworld..Sounds like you are doing great with your Vida Coach. Birthday celebrations are tough on those of us trying to lose weight but looks like you have a good plan. Way to go!!

@theslightedgeforever..How is your vacation going? I hope you all are having a good time.

@cbabie..Good job on tracking your food and getting some exercise in. It is hard to believe there could be 860 calories in a salad and sometimes a lot more than that. It is just crazy!

Where is everyone that used to post here?

Well, I have a little problem, maybe you ladies could give me some good advice. I do alright with my food during the day and try to log my food before I eat it. The problem comes after Dinner. Even not long after I have eaten, I am craving something. Do you all have a snack at night? At night is when I have my biggest challenges. I guess that is when I finally sit down to relax and have more time to think about food.

@lore11a - Late night snacking is hard for me too. I plan a snack that I really like and look forward to that in the evening. I play a game with myself to push it off for later, knowing that once I eat it that's it for the night. Or I will plan two or three small snacks that I can eat so I get the feeling of grazing without blowing the budget.

@trooworld - It sounds like you are doing really good, keep up the good work!

@theslightedgeforever and cbabie - Hi! I am thinking of you both.

I am still standing. Mulch was on sale this week. I worked 12 hours on Saturday and loaded 17 pallets (65 bags a pallet, please don't do the math, I would probably cry). I am getting one heck of a workout with the mulch, soil, bricks, pavers, and boxes of freight. I am proud of myself, I can not only keep up with the youngsters but often keep going when they are tired out. That said, I do have many aches and pains that should go away as I do this longer. I am getting between 26,000 and 29,000 steps at work each day. I am eating like a field hand but am steady dropping weight at a little over two pounds a week. I am not tracking but am eating a lot of protein to keep fueled. I know that May and June will be crazy. In July I will really need to start tracking again so I can get a handle on what I need to fuel my body and not gain weight with slowing down at work.

I do stop in and read everybody's posts. I think of you all often and send good thoughts and prayers your way.

Cbabie. That salad had more calories than my chicken quesadilla I think You talking about my steps reminded me I am 75 away from 10000 so I should get up and move

Trooworld. That's good you have planned ahead in the fruit tart

Lore11a. My vacation is going good but I'm tired and it's just started. Today DH and hiked a mountain for 90 min. I saw a coyote and a rabbit and tried not to look for snakes or other creatures. Twice I was really winded near the top but kept going with me singing loudly the Rocky theme. 3 college girls with nice toned sweaty bodies ran to the top of the mountain. #lifegoals. So on the snacks, I have 100 calories allotted for an evening snack. If I've been good and have extra cals left I will use those too I have 3 meals and 3 snacks planned but usually don't eat my morning snack as I have a bigger breakfast

Mysticlizard. Wow on your job and steps. It sounds like a lot of hard work but so much better than traditional diet and exercise

Tomorrow's plan is more hiking but in a different place I'm hoping I can move when I wake up and won't have sore muscles

Morning gals: Well you ALL have inspired me. My fitbit says I only got in 8369 steps, but here is what happened. We had professional pictures taken yesterday at work and she had me take my Fitbit off and laid it on a table in our welcome area. I went back to work after the pictures, then went to lunch with my dear friend, sister and her DH, as I was talking I went to see the time and realize my Fitbit was NOT on my arm..sad sad sad. but I called a coworker and she went to where it had been left and it was still there. So I am SURE I got my10K in LOL

I am staying sort of on course with no breads and trying to limit the carbs. I won't eat this way forever, just trying to jump start my system to go the other direction. :) I have tracked everything again. So I feel I am on my way back to normal,

Last night the message at church was our words are life and death and this is so true. He challenged us to say positive, not negative. Things like I hate my job, I am stuck in a no win situation, or for us....I am never going to lose this weight, I just can't quit eating bad food...so I am challenging myself to stop these thoughts, even though I FEEL that way at times, I don't have to SAY it.

@lore11a Yes night time has always been my worst. I used to eat Orvil Reddenbecks Light Kettle Korn, then I went to air popped popcorn with my own seasonings. I need to start doing that again myself. Right now I have just been eating a handful of cashews (or more) GOTTA STOP THAT.

@trooworld great job on the tracking and talking to your coach! You got this...remember this is a journey and we are leaving our old baggage at check out and get new clothes instead.

@theslightedgeforever I bet you are glad you didn't give up!! great job!

@mysticlizard I am so proud of you! You are doing great and you are just proving, we eat right keep moving and all things are possible. You just keep showing those young ones. LOL

Okay gotta get my moving on myself. Have a great day!

    Cbabie

PS I don't know where are of our old friends are. My sister and I were just asking ourselves the same thing yesterday.
