People who say cardio is "too boring" are full of crap

[soapbox] It drives me nuts when people claim they don't do cardio because it's just too boring. If sitting on a couch watching TV/movies isn't too boring for you then how can running on a treadmill/riding a stationary bike/etc. while watching the exact same TV/movies be too boring?
You aren't doing cardio because it's too hard or you don't enjoy sweating or whatever, not because it's too boring. If you don't want to do cardio then don't, just be honest with yourself. [/soapbox]

Disagree.
I HATE cardio. It is BORING. I speak of regular cardio such as treadmill running/jogging, elliptical, bike.26 -
Cardio is boring. I also don't sit on the couch for hours watching TV/movies (except football season. All bets are off during football season).
Everyone has different things they find "fun," OP. Your way isn't the only right way.36 -
I dont like elliptical/treadmill cardio but there so many kinds I enjoy kickboxing/boxing, zumba, hip hop dance, walking/running so many types of cardio11

I'm in the cardio at the gym sucks camp. I would rather do anything than be stuck on dead ill or elliptical or what have you. I get my cardio from walking the dog, hiking and practicing taekwondo.7

If you don't do it because it isn't "fun" that sounds honest. You didn't say it was boring.1 -

I'm guessing it's not because they're afraid to sweat or find it too hard... they just don't enjoy being stationary.15 -

Running on a treadmill staring at a wall is boring. I agree. If you find watching TV to be boring then watching TV on a treadmill would probably also be boring.
I honestly don't see how running on a treadmill watching TV can possibly be more boring than sitting on a couch watching the same show. Please explain.

I absolutely loath cardio in the gym. I walk outside a lot, the gym is for my strength training and Pilates classes which I love but no one will ever persuade me that a bike or treadmill or elliptical is anything but torture.5
-
I just want to reiterate, for all the good people out there,
THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY
Do something you find FUN and will continue to do consistently. Why torture yourself?
FOR ME - lifting heavy weight is awesomely fun and I can see myself continuing to do it until I physically can't anymore.35 -

I'm not trying to bash someone who doesn't like cardio. Please explain how doing X while sitting on the couch can be less boring than doing X while running?0
-
Um, who cares? If people think cardio is boring, how does that affect you? Let them do whatever exercise they want, or not exercise. You need to get over it lol.20
-
If someone finds something boring, who am I to tell them otherwise. Not sure why you are letting other people drive you nuts as you say, in the end we are all different. You do you3
-
Too many people assume "cardio" is hanging out on a treadmill for however long. That can be boring. Be in the outdoors doing cardio activities is not boring at all in my opinion.9
-
I like to watch movies, but can't watch them on a treadmill due to how my brain is wired. In public places I absolutely need to be aware of my surroundings or I'll have a panic attack. That means I can't run on a treadmill and listen to music or watch TV because I can't see and hear everything in my immediate area.
Also, the few times I have done it while the gym was empty or the treadmill faced the main part of the gym I wasn't able to push myself nearly as hard. What's the point of doing cardio if I'm going to put in less than stellar effort?
So in my case cardio is extremely boring and it has NOTHING to do with it being hard or not enjoying sweating. Deadlifting 360 pounds is hard and leaves me sweating.14
