I'm 5'2." I started trying to lose weight about a year and a half ago. I lost about 30lbs and then fell off track with logging. Thankfully, I maintained the initial 30lb loss. Last May, I started again. Since then, there have been a few times I've fallen off track. I was always tired...not just tired, but EXHAUSTED. I recently found out I have hypothyroidism, so I began taking meds for that 4 weeks ago. I'm starting to feel better, enjoy workouts, and have started tracking my food much more accurately, weighing things with my food scale. The weight is coming off faster now (I've lost 10lbs since I started the meds and weighing my food), so I'm motivated to keep it up. I am able to finally see a difference. My highest weight was around 230. In the picture from May 2016, it was around 200. The picture from very end of March 2017, I was about 178. I'm 176 now. Goal weight is 130ish, I think.

I am just under 5'3(more like 5'2.5-I round up to feel taller). I started on Jan 2 at 183 and I have lost 41 pounds now. I'm at 142. My first goal is 125 lbs. So far I am sticking to 1500 cals a day, 6x cardio for one hour a week. I want to start adding in strength training soon.

I'm 5'3, started at 145 pounds 11 weeks ago. I'm now 129 pounds. My GW is 115ish. I'm doing a combination of strength training, cardio, and Bodypump classes 6 days per week. Still a long way to go, but seeing progress keeps me motivated!25 -
Hello! Just thought I'd share my success story! I'm 5'2 1/2 and started out at 155 pounds at my heaviest. I started out with my goal weight at 135 and have made it there and lost even more than that! My lowest was at 128, but it was really hard to maintain, so I gained up to 133 and have been holding steady there. I'd really like to get to 125... but it seems like it would be too hard. Pics below!

Awesome work everyone! And REMEMBER! The lower you get the smaller your deficit will be. You will slow down at some point. It's not the same as stopping. Keep working hard and being amazing. It's not one right decision, it's a series of right decisions!8

I have a question. How do you know when it's time to reset your calorie allowance? I'm 5"2. I started mfp mid march weighing 13 stone. I now weigh 12.3 so loosing a lb a week more or less. I have an Allowance of 1250 per day and usually "earn" 300/350 walking a 3 mile round the block route which has 2 very steep hills in it. I'm not showing signs of not losing yet, but wonder what weight to adjust my calories? Thanks1

MFP will automatically reset your calorie goal if you are inputing your weight into the app. 1250 isn't very much when you have quite a bit to lose, have you set it to lose 2lbs a week by any chance? I'm saying that because as you reduce in weight, so will your calorie allowance. You don't want to be eating any less than 1200 overall plus 50% of your exercise cals. How much are you losing per week now?1 -

I am set to lose 1lb per week as a sedentary person (office job sat on my backside 8 hours a day) I rarely eat all my exercise calories maybe 100 of them. I like to have a few in back up for the days I just have to eat chocolate or something. I always eat my 1250 though. I have lost a lb a week every week except one. I have 31lbs to lose to get to where I would like to be. Thanks for the response1 -

For me it was all about weighing my food out. And I mean everything! I only eat 1200 calories a day, but when I do exercise I eat all of my exercise calories back... and I give myself 1 or 2 days a week to eat what I want within moderation. Make sure you log in all of the sauces, and toppings you put on food too. Every little bit counts.3 -

5'1" here - I've been on and off MFP for a long time now. Mostly off as my recent weight gain has shown me. I feel like I'm ready to be real now and love reading this thread - so much more relatable than my 5'8" friends. Feel free to add2

I want to ask you all a question. How do we know our body frame? The finger around the wrist says small and measurements says medium. I am 5'2.75 and the measurements was 6". My scale says I am 47.5% BF. When I was 185 lbs, I had a sitting thigh gap. Lol. I am 202.6, down from 215. I am trying ro figure what BF I should work for and what GW I should actually have.

I am 5'2", I started at 250 (heaviest in my life!) with a goal right now of 150 and we will see from there. I have recently lost 22 lb (starting Feb 1 this year) I have been just logging my food, weighing/measuring almost everything. I eat 1400-1700 cal a day, sedentary/office work. I workout/exercise 5x a week with toning included. I am happy and comfortable with what I am doing. I account for "treats", off meals, etc and LOG IT ALL. I have had my ups and downs (which you will) No specific diet at all. I just keep moving forward.
I would suggest measuring from the start. You may feel the "oh I'm not doing that! that will make me feel like S#&T!" well, I did and it has been a savior to me. You WILL NOT regret it. I had a MAJOR stall in my weight loss and started to get VERY discouraged. So I re-measured and come to find out I had lost 6 inches total off my body!! It was all I needed to keep the wind in my sails.
Seeing all of your posts and accomplishments definitely helps me to keep moving and to know I CAN GET THERE!! Thank you all for sharing!

I'm 5' 1 1/2"- 54 years old. My heaviest was 186- I am now 146. I started working on losing weight last June and lost 28 pounds between then and November. I slacked off a little over the holidays. Then got serious again in February. I started back to the gym and kept track of calories- I eat around 1500 a day. THEN, I discovered yoga. I started doing yoga probably in February at the gym (one day a week). Then I started doing it at home and fell in love with it, and started going to a yoga studio. I do yoga almost every day- I lost 10 pounds from the beginning of March to the beginning of May. And this is just with doing yoga and no other exercise. People really started noticing within the past month that I have lost weight.
I still want to lose around 25 pounds. I would like to add walking in, if I can find the time!!
Oh, I don't "go on a diet". I merely make healthier choices in what I eat, drink mainly water (I cut out pop last July- have only had maybe 2 or 3 since then) and just track my calories. It needs to be a lifestyle change- which yoga really helps with, because yoga is more of a mindset and becomes a way of life.9
