Good Friday morning. Sounds like it is going to be a real hot weekend up to 98. So not to upset about working 10 hours each day as will be in where it is cool. Saturday evening they are having a birthday party for my great grandson who just turned 4 at the park.
Janetr--What a cutie and happy baby.
Michele--Glad you were not hurt in your fall.
Allie--I agree having him served in public is a good idea. Just do not let him try to talk you into anything. Sending hugs and saying a prayer.
Well I am behind again and will try and catch up tomorrow. I am having a stress headache and to the point I am having trouble with my eyes. I get off in a hour and going to go home and lay down in a dark room.

Good morning ladies!
So this morning I checked on Prudence, and she was up, in her chair, chipper and upbeat. She talked to her family, ( a brother in Bend that's 88 yr old!). He is very concerned, as is a nephew, so family might be coming to the rescue! In the mean time, we called the aging and disability resource center here in town, and left a message with an "options counselor". As she left the message she referred to the situation as a life altering event, so I am glad she is realizing that change needs to be made. We talked about bills, and I stated to her she should be somewhere, where she doesn't have to deal with bills anymore. She can not read them, write a check out, etc, so an assisted care facility would be a great thing. She had great stories so for the past hour we were gabbing! Hopefully the resource center will return her call and they can schedule a home visit this next week. I am feeling more hopeful, than hopeless now!

Katla, Lisa - I have YNY for Women and also Slimmer This Year, which gives great nutritional advice plus exercises and regime suggestions. I just LOVE all the science bits in those books. Aren't bodies fabulous!
Heather UK xxxxxxx1 -
Heather: Indeed, bodies are fabulous. Mine is giving me trouble at the moment. I cracked a finger bone yesterday & have doctor's orders to see a specialist before riding again. I've cancelled my lesson for this week and am very grumpy about it. The finger is in a splint now & I'm waiting for a call back from the orthopedist. :grumble:5
-
Katla ahh noooo, so sorry to hear about your finger break! See the specialist, know it will be fine. Don't be grumpy, be grateful it wasn't a wrist. Things can always be worse! Hugs friend. Husband can turn into a cabana boy and get ya stuff. I said so!

Allie ... Thinking of you and praying you stay safe! I don't trust that ^&*%$$& one bit!
Rimmy ... KJ recommended Egyptian Licorice Tea to me for sugar cravings ... and I have to say it really does help! I also like Doles' Dark Chocolate Banana Dippers at 100 calories a pack. Helps curb the sugar cravings too.
So, today I stepped into the gym ... not to exercise mind you ... but to update my bank card. While I was there, I told the front desk I was going to walk around the facility and see what had changed. This was the kick in the pants I needed to get over my "fear" of going back after months of inactivity. At 2:00 the place was nearly empty except for the very pregnant woman on a treadmill. WTH, if she can exercise, what exactly is my excuse? I'll be there Monday at 2:00! Hold me to it, please! I know that my knees are killing me because of the weight I've gained back and I need to work the muscles around my knees. I didn't pay that trainer thousands of dollars a few years ago for nothing! I do remember what he showed me.
Beth near Buffalo ... where it is to be a very warm, but beautiful weekend.

Heather Thank you for your inspiring piece on living together. I especially like the idea of extending the rules of politeness to family. Very insightful!
Allie Thinking of you. I know there is a lot of advice coming your way. You will do what is best for you. My only hope for you is that you consider your safety at all times as things often escalate when a woman tries to end things with an abusive partner. You are very brave and although I do not know you; I am very proud of you
DJ So sorry to hear about your friend
I just finished teaching a two-day course to managers in our Hospital called Crucial Conversations: www.vitalsmarts.com/crucial-conversations-training/ I love teaching this course and slowly having a positive impact on our work environment.
Hoping to get out and bike tomorrow. Did Leslie S this morning and now patiently waiting on my daughter's sweet potato quinoa veggie burgers.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening My Dear Friends,
Janetr, I love the picture of Mia. What a sweetie.
Leigh, Happy retirement. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Heather, you are so right about the importance of common curtesy for our family members. It’s ashamed that we often forget those things for the ones we love most.
M, congrats on finishing your course. I have to hand it to you to be doing it at all. I was never that fond of school and was just happy to get my BS degree.
Allie, I’m so proud of you. I know none of this is easy and you must be terribly hurt but you are doing the right thing. (((Hugs)))
MicheleNC, sorry to hear about Jess but hopefully they can remove it all and leave the uterus intact.
NYKaren, congrats on dropping the weight.
Kelly, cute pic of Joaquin. Daddies are too funny.
Tere, I know how unpleasant it can be to work in an office full of drama. Good luck on not letting it get to you. ((Hugs))
Katla, sorry to hear about your finger. I know it will make you grumpy if you can’t ride.
Beth, get yourself in the gym to work out and not just watch the pregnant ladies. Lol You can do it.
I have caught up again but didn’t respond to many. My friend’s funeral is Tuesday and as much as I’d like to go I simply can’t afford it. I’m sure I won’t be missed as she had soooo many friends. She lived in Milwaukee since college, went to Marquette basketball games for years and years and has worked at Italian Fest for many years. Thank you all for your kind comments. It will just take a while to get used to the fact that she is gone.
to all the Newbies. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
Sending love, good thoughts and sunshine to all of you.
I Love you

Ok I am home, no screaming ,but a civilized conversation..amazing that it is, I just told him you have been unhappy for a long time and so have I, this has to be done, he gave me a hug and will be contacting a lawyer.. then he came back and said he wont be able to afford spousal support.. I said I cant talk to you about that, speak with my lawyer or your own.. think he is finding out what money he thought he had for retirement ,will not be all his.. I don't think he is going to put up much of a fight... but I am ready for it if he is..5

Did an hour of deep water today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Kathy Kaehler Basics DVD.
After exercise stopped at the Salvation Army, just found some bowls for Jess. Then went to Bi-Lo to see if I could get more soap for Jess since it was 75% off. Boy, were they wiped out! Guess I just hit it at the right time. Got a few things, but not much. Came home and Vince was raking the dirt in the front yard so I went out and helped him put down the seed, the straw and he watered the new seed. I know that this isn't the time to seed, but we shall see what if anything takes. Then I went in my pool
Katla - I'm not sure how long Jess will be in the hospital. I'll probably stay up there at least a day or two after she gets out, depending on how she's feeling. How did you injur your finger? "Cabana old fart"...lol
Becca - I've burned bread in the broiler. I've found that I can usually scrape the burnt part off.
Kerry - I had a seizure about a year ago and am now taking Lamictal.
Lenora - I like Sam's shrimp, mainly because it's big and makes a good presentation. I think their meats are good. But like you say - just so much of it. I don't have THAT much room in my freezer! I'm so sorry to hear about that baby
Allie - that's just too too bad if it's embarrassing to be served at work. I'm crying crocodile tears. What a crying shame that T can't afford it. Keep it up, girl. We're all behind you every step of the way. Be sure to keep checking in with us. We're all concerned about you, especially once T is served. I can definitely see T grabbing the phone out of your hand while you are trying to call 911. Do you have a cell phone? Perhaps you can keep it in another room and go to that room, lock the door, and call 911 from there.
Karen in VA and Dana - I've bought Sudafed in Florida, no prescription needed.
Welcome everyone new!
DJ - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend
Sue in WA - a gal in Newcomers isn't going on this flower trip after the general meeting next week. Honestly, I'm not interested anyway. I'm going to bring the crochet to her. Something just looks "off. The count is correct. Maybe it looks "off" because I ripped it out so many times
Vicki - no, I wasn't hurt when I fell, except for a sore bum. Good thing I have lots of padding! Hope you feel better
Beth near Buffalo - you sound like you're ready to tackle this.
Elizabeth - enjoy Vermont!
Vince is getting my ant finished (the antenna). He got this "grumpy cat" (not really grumpy cat, but very much like him) and he put it on the fence like it's trying to jump out.
Michele in NC

Michele in NC. Um when you broil a small outdoor bun, and 50% turns to charcoal, there's not a lot left when you scrape off the burnt part! Heehee! I did try to, but it crumbled in my hand!
