Allie - Tell your lawyer what he is trying to do. He should be out of your house by rights. He abused you for years, operating COERCIVE CONTROL and he should have been arrested, or have an injunction served on him. I'm not sure why she didn't suggest it, if you told her everything.
It is too much pressure to have him wheedling and trying it on. You should be free of that. Please tell her his past history of mental abuse and you want him out. He soon will turn nasty anyway, when he can't get his own way.
You have more than enough evidence to issue an injunction not to come near the house.
With lots of love, Heather UK xxxxxxx

I still weigh less than my husband, but there have been periods of time where it was awfully close! For some reason it has always been important for me to be smaller than him ...
Beth
This is my goal!!! I want to be smaller than him like I was once upon a time! It is possible and I will get there!

Becca so glad your husband is doing well!
Felicia Just stay away from all the BBQ and Tex-Mex! Austin is known for all the great restaurants! I know, that's how I gained so much weight!
Joyce your husband should get his license sooner than later. He may be declined because of the Parkinson's.
Michelle I love dragonflies! Yours is unique! Is it going to be hung on the wall or suspended? I even have a dragonfly tattoo. (The only one)
Allie Be strong. He wants his cake and eat too as the saying goes... he's trying to make you feel sorry for him!
I was just thinking about one of my exes... Dave. He was a b******!
He knew had a weight problem and I was plump when I married him but after a while he was always harassing me about being fat and when I would lose s few pounds he would sabotage me with a box of chocolates! No birthday, no anniversary, he just brought home a box to tempt me. Instead of supporting me!
The last straw was when I got on the scale and it went up to 230 and there was a little note inside that said: "You're too fat! Get off me!" I was so hurt and upset! He thought is sooo funny.
Another story! Ha! I should write a book. It could be a soap opera!
Have s good day!

Heehee, yep I am the baby at 55 yrs old this week, my middle sister Cindy is 59, and Pam is 62. Crazy to think of us old. They both treated me like I was still in high school, but when I married a sailor I think they realized I wasn't a kid anymore!

Hello ladies, here on the Oregon north coast we are having such a cold dreary winter and spring...I feel like it is winter. We are going about in sweaters instead of teeshirts. Granted,
we are supposed to have rain and foggy days, this is the coast after all!
I am so impressed by those of you who are winning battle of weight control. I have managed to find that magic amount of calories vs activity to stay absolutely the same weight. Well I can see that the balance needs changed. More activity vs less calories. I guess this isn't rocket science.
I had to laugh about jmkmomm and her husbands reluctance to have lawn maintence! It must be some sort of masculine territorial thing. My husband is exactly the same. Also about his style of dress. Same thing year after year. The silly thing is, he will buy new shirts etc that look great on him but they hang nicely unworn in the closet! I guess we all have strange habits that drive others a bit wonky.
To Becca, my neighbor, all my best wishes for your long suffering husband. He must have suffered hugely. I also understand about the empty nest. I missed each of our children as they grew up and left home. I still have moments when I just want to go gether them up and bring them back home.
Deep breathes, keep smiling,

Just dipping in quickly. We are very hot here, in the mid to high 80s, but with no air conditioning in most homes, it is almost too warm to be comfortable.
Becca: Hope your husband recovers soon!
Allie: Sending you hugs! Stay strong!
Hello to everyone who is new!

Walked Annabelle this morning, and she attacked a fresh mole mound, the nut! I tried to "direct" her toward a puddle, but she is a smart cookie! I walked her on the wet grass as much as possible though, then before I let her into her apartment, I wiped off her legs, cleaned her face a bit, for her Momma... Lol! She is a character! I called on behalf of Prudence, my neighbor, to that senior assistance program again, and got thru. She has an appointment with a lady at 2:30 tomorrow. Its a home evaluation thing. I told Prudence that she needs to tell them her limitations, so that they can help any way they can. By not letting them know, it only hurts her. She promised she would inform them. We will be on our way to Longview with the sin for his DEP meeting tomorrow, or I would be there with her. Prudence has a nephew, and brother that will be coming Fromm Bend sometime next week. So, the Calvary is coming! About time right?? I have positive thoughts for her!
Everyone seems to be handling life well on here! Allie, you are our hero, like a bullfighter, grabbing life by the horns and holding on until you bring him down! Great picture huh! We love ya, just know that.
Katla glad your finger is on the mend! Hugs to you my neighbor over the hill!!
Hugs to ya all, happy Tuesday!!
Becca

June Accountability
Progress - Tuesday , June 13th
✔1. Carbs 50-75g (limit 25g/meal)
(B0, L8, D16, AS0, BBS23 = 47g)
✔2. Fiber 30g (37g)
✔3. Track/complete entry daily
✔4. Vegetables - big salad daily
✔5. Exercise - log 30 Fitbit minutes
6. No eating after 9pm.
7. In bed by 12am
✔8. Zone work - 15 minutes daily
• I slept late. Really late. So no breakfast and very little lunch. Supper was a grilled ground beef patty with a big salad with olive oil and lots of added fiber: flaxseed, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, hemp hearts. Late night snack of yogurt with more flaxseeds, chia seeds and walnuts.
• Exercise. Managed to get 17 active minutes just doing things in the house non-stop. I was sweating and my heart rate was up - so I'm sure it helped. At least it motivated me to do a 15 minute Leslie Sansone walk at home video. (I was watching the clock too! Whew! I used to breeze through her 1 mile walk as a warm-up. But I'm proud of myself for doing it. One step closer.
I was up late again... Naturally. Because I've got my sleep schedule so messed up... I did quite a bit of work around the house. Had my planned late night snack - after 9pm. And got to sleep after 2am. Oh well. Something to work on. It felt like a good day.
Onward.

Just finished reading a book called The Obesity Code. I thought he made some interesting points. He discussed the effect insulin has on weight. I remember my dad talking about this 40 years ago. He too believed insulin and how your body responds to it is a factor in weight gain. The author discussed insulin resistance as being a factor in why it is hard to lose and keep off weight. Cortisol and medications that increase cortisol can have a negative impact on weight too. Other factors that make it hard to keep off weight is stress, lack of sleep, what you eat and when you eat. Things the help include fiber, no snacking, eat when you are hungry, and try to eliminate refined carbs as much as possible. Refined carbs spike insulin.
He also went on to say in the fifties there was a revolution in how wheat was produced. To increase yield a dwarf variety took over. It was not tested just like trans-fats and high fructose corn syrup was not tested to see the effect on our health. Needless to day he recommends the less processed the food you eat the better and again to reduce starches and sugars, stress, and work on getting a good nights sleep.
He does go onto to recommend fasting as a way to reset insulin levels. How he reached this conclusion other than looking at how common it was in past cultures and in some present cultures was not clear to me.
He does not recommend grazing. He believes grazing keeps your body in a constant state of higher insulin. I know for me that when I try to graze it does not work for me. I end up eating much more when I do. Buffets are hard on me as are parties that have a wide variety of foods.
I am still processing some of his points. Most of them are common sense. I do believe the stress I was under this past year is a factor in why I regained my thirty pounds. I do feel my stress in getting better and I am starting to see some of the weight starting to come off.

Dear Patsy,
Husbands in general are quite a unique breed! My empty nest has been approaching slowly over the years. All to the Navy, which technically speaking gets them for twenty years. Yet I have to mentally hand them over when they are 17 almost 18 yrs old. Totally unfair, lol! I like to point my finger at my sons and state I Bore You!
My husband is doing well today, no I'll effects from the endoscopy. Crazy they can go thru the throat to deal with stents in the abdomen area! I try to not remember the bad times, when I stopped being a wife, and reluctantly picked up a caregivers cap! Ugh! I remember thinking I am not a nurse, this is crazy ( scary). Its nice to see him healthy, and full of the OK nick!
Heading to the food bank in Astoria (blue church), and we are grateful. Husband retired early, and I stopped working to care for him. Now we are just having fun, and making up for lost time. I could work but then I'd miss out on The Us.
Are you active on Facebook? There is a group called Astoria Rocks, that hide rocks around the city. Some amazing artists. You find one, you can keep it, rehide it, or replace it with one you paint.
Take care
Becca

Patsy,
Oh and you post a pic of the rock finds and so the artist knows. Some of the artists post pics of rocks they are hiding and the area they will be at. Then young moms can take kids exploring. The proud smiles of the youngsters are priceless!
